the first thing that you notice in this place is the unique seating layout and welcoming atmosphere. They have a great variety pf pizzas and make you own possibilities. The pasta offerings are great too. I especially enjoyed the Alfredo Pizza topping when I am...not in the mood for a lot of tomato or just want something different. This is probably a little more of a romantic stop than a family one but I often de see a few families there. For those of you who like a little quiet and subdued lighting with great food and reasonable prices, this is the place.More
The decor is nothing to write home about-- spacious, sparsely decorated with a large bar for gathering and a parking lot patio with heaters for cool nights. But the pizza-- consistently outstanding. We get it every time we are in Racine. Thin, crispy crust with...plentiful toppings-- so darn good, and hard to find in this manner. Friends have reported that the ravioli, fried shrimp and chicken are d-lish as well-- and on arrival they don't look like anything super special, but it's all about the taste! Great, basic place for friends and groups--- it's loud and filled with talk and laughter--not an intimate gathering spot. Huge plus--- they have gluten free pizza crust (but no GF pasta and no GF appetizers). And hot tip-- a game changer this last visit-- order the giardinera topping on your pizza!More
Mike did a great job working with us on a rehersal dinner in his banquet room. Evreything went off just as planned and the food was excellent. The staff was freindly and attentive and our group of 60 was delighted with the evening.
My husband and I met my brother for the Friday night fish fry at 5:00 tonight. My brother and I arrived first, we approached the hostess and asked for a table for 3. She seated us right away, not the least bit friendly. Our waitress,...Kendal, came promptly and took our drink order and brought it quickly. 10 minutes later my husband arrived. Almost immediately this guy stomps up to our table, points his finger in my brother's face and demanded to know if we had seated ourselves. We were taken aback and told him no, the hostess had seated us. He turned and stormed off. Without another word. What the heck? ? We assumed he was the manager or owner. We told our waitress, she apologized profusely and sincerely for his attitude. She did an excellent job serving us. I commend her for that.
And the fish? 2 of us had cod, 1 perch. None of us thought it was good. Abd the perch had a lot of bones. None of us finished our meals. We will not be back. There was no excuse for us to be treated like that and the fish was definitely not worth it.
Kendal's great service deserves 5 stars. But the jerk's attitude and the food - 0 stars.More
If you want to take an out of town guest to dinner, Mike & Angelo's is a nice place to feature a bit of Racine. It is open on Sunday, too. Prices are reasonable and the food is good, especially the Friday fish fry.
We had our grooms dinner here and were extremely pleased with everything. First, I was in contact with Mike for months prior to the event and it was very easy. Mike put me at ease immediately and it was honestly the easiest part of planning...our wedding. The pizza was some of the best I have ever had. Not kidding! The special event room was more than adequate for our group of 30 people. When we realized we did not have enough pizza they instantly put in more orders! I can not thank the folks at Mike and Angelo's enough. They made everything so easy and set the tone for the rest of the weekend. Highly recommended.More
Originally from Racine, I now live in TN and try to make it M & A's at least once when I get home.
1. Excellent service. I'm sorry I don't remember the young lady's name, but she was the best server, we had 6 ladies...and she didn't miss a beat. 2. Excellent food. I had perch. It made me very happy. Way better then the Yardarm in my opinion. Pizza is very good, light and crispy. Pasta is cooked to perfection, with great garlic bread! I will always go back. Give them a try, you won't be disappointed.More
