The Daily Bakery on the main street is a much better alternative.
They have lines out the doors sometimes and a venue that looks like it's from Chicago.
Great pastries and pressed coffee that is not sitting in a thermos.
This is the place for coffee in Port Washington.
The biggest draw for me is the amazing avocado toast on HOUSEMADE oat bread!! Price is a steal at $4.50. Collectivism and Anodyne coffee. Staff is friendly and there is a walk up window. Sunny upstairs...eat in but outside, too.
Good Covid procedures.More
I try to make this a weekly visit for a latte and a muffin. The owner, Chad, is a friendly person who is engaging and knows how to make great coffee drinks. If you're staying for your coffee and food the upstairs is a nice...quiet location for a chat or solitude.
My favorite coffee shop in Port Washington!More
I tend to chose coffee shops with windows that allow me to watch what's going on outside, but I decided to try Java Dock after years of not stopping in. The barista warmly greeted me which always gets things off to a good start. The...scones looked delicious, but I stuck with just coffee and headed upstairs. (This is not the place for people with mobility issues since seating is on the 2nd floor) There was a lively study group in one corner, two men having a friendly discussion, and two students. A nice mix of clientele! I grabbed a magazine from a small bookcase and sat back to enjoy my café au lait. When it was time to leave, I checked out the detailed pen and ink drawings of birds that added interest to two walls. No windows, but it was a warm, homey atmosphere on a day when the temperature was below zero.More
