This was a nice change of pace. The staff was very friendly, and though you order st the bar, the bartender brought our meal to the table and was knowledgeable about the menu and indulged my fussy eating! My husband had their poutine and loved...it! Many tasty beer choices to choose from. They also have beer flights. I would definitely recommend that you try it out!More

This was a fun and friendly bar to visit. We wish this was closer to our house so we could visit more often. We had a good beer. We didn’t try the food. This brewery is inside the American Legion Hall!

I stopped at Inventors Brewpub for drinks after a nice walk in downtown Port Washington on a weekday afternoon. The Brewpub is located in the American Legion building, and at first look I was not sure if I was in the right place. But, indeed...there is a fermentation vessel and a sign identifying the brewpub. The location and the surroundings are awesome with the building being next to Lake Michigan and with verdant hills on the rear. Ample parking is available. In addition to great indoor accommodations, the pub also has a beautiful patio. They have lots of games both indoors and outdoors for customers to enjoy. They have a good beer menu with a wide selection, but on my visit they had only three of their own beers available. I had a taster flight, and was not too thrilled by their beers. The beers were too flat, for some reason; maybe it was their off day. The caddy for the beers, in the shape of a model airplane, is very attractive, though. In spite, I would like to revisit and check out all their beers the next time I am in Port Washington. The place has a beautiful setting. They also serve food, but I was not in need of food when I visited.More

I had found this place while googling things to do and eat in Port Washington. I'm always interested in brew pubs, breweries. We went to Grafton to hike, but since we were so close and had never been to Port Washington I wanted to stop....I had the address, hours, and a couple things I wanted to order. We actually drove past the place on our way up the hill to view the lake. My phone didn't have a signal on the top of the hill. As we came down the hill I saw a sign for craft beer, and then saw the still that had Inventors on it. It was a little confusing as the building said VFW. We thought maybe they brewed the beer here, but the restaurant was elsewhere. But we forged ahead and went inside. We ordered the regular poutine, and it was fantastic! The gravy was on the side. I wanted to try a brezel but they were out of the single. We also ordered a Thai peanut wrap with chips. It was also very good. I forgot I wanted to try their craft soda, so will have to do that next time. I wanted to order a beer but the list was overwhelming and I wanted to place our order quickly, and move to a spot away from others. This was a 1st for us going inside, ordering, and waiting for our food. Normally we order ahead due to the pandemic. but he gave me a sample of the hazelnut brownie which was wonderful. Our food came quickly, and we took it to the lookout park above. We look forward to going back to enjoy the food and beer another time when we feel safer.More

This is a very nice building close to the Lake Michigan shoreline. Looks like a fantastic place to go in summer but since it is cooler now, I ate inside at the bar for lunch on a Friday. Had the Western burger with fries. It...was good. As I was driving, I wasn't able to try a beer, but looks like they have a fun variety.More

Went to Inventor's Brew Pub for my grandson's birthday dinner. Lots of games for the grandchildren to play. Also noticed that they had outside games for the nicer weather. Atmosphere is very family friendly. Food and beverages were reasonably priced and good value.

My husband, 17yo son, and I love stopping into Inventors whenever we're in the area. Been here a few times now and it never disappoints. Any beer of theirs that the hubby and I have had we've been really happy with. They've also got a...great selection of beers from a variety of other craft breweries. A great overall selection of styles. Love talking to the brewmaster also to hear about what he's working on. The food menu is also great. Wonderful variety; something for everyone. Must, must, must try some brew-tons!!! The atmosphere at Inventors is also fantastic. Great seating options inside and out. Lots of games to play. This is a great place to go with the whole family and you can easily spend hours here. I wish we lived closer so we could stop in more often. We definitely make sure to stop in though anytime we're near! You are doing yourself a disservice if you skip this place!More

I love Inventors! The combination with the VA center works out great to allow for group gatherings and children to play, while others prefer to stay at the fully stocked bar. The food is also fantastic and often have rotating specials. The bartenders are great...as they remember our names!More

Had a crappy day at work and hubby said we’re going out for dinner. Inventors!!! Freaking turned my day around! Apple Cider Old Fashioned, grilled romaine salad, craft Mac skillet and the best calamari we’ve ever had! Maybe keep the calamari and salad on the...menu forever? The cocktail was amazing with local apple cider, maple syrup and whatever else that goes into it! The grilled romaine wedge was fresh with Tomatos and bacon! Calamari was so flavorful and tender I want a do over it was so delicious! Hubby devoured the craft Mac skillet so obviously that was excellent as well! They always have great weekly specials and seem to one up themselves every week keeping the menu fresh and original. Did I mention they craft their own beer? Quite a variety of flavor profiles!!!More

The Legion needed someone to rent their building. The brewers needed space to turn out their craft brews. They got together which made for a win win. Where else can you have a burger and a brew (or homemade soda) while surrounded be Legion memorabilia?...A bunch of us friends met up there and basically had the place to ourselves except for one other table. Apparently it has more life on the weekends. The owner was more than willing to talk and cranked out our orders quickly. No one was disappointed with the food. Their location - across from the park that borders the lake - would be perfect on a warm summer night.More

When we visited they had four beers they brewed there, along with maybe six from other breweries. We tried all the ones made there along with the white cheddar cheese deep fried curds - delicious. Nicely repurposed American Legion building adds to the ambiance. Located...a couple blocks from downtown on the lakefront.More

This place has a really great atmosphere. My wife and I took our young kids here on a Friday night to try their fish fry and we had a really nice time. The atmosphere is great and it is clear that they welcome families, which...is a nice touch. My wife and I each had their fish fry and it was one of the best we've had in a long time. The breading is light but very tasty and the fish tasted fresh. The fries were on point and even the coleslaw was delicious. My wife had one of their home brewed beers (Golden Ale) and she said it was really good and I had one of their homemade root beers which was REALLY good. The kids each had a Kids Mini Corn dog meal and they both really liked it. I tried the Corn dogs too and they were delicious. You order at the bar and seat yourself but the waitstaff was very friendly and helpful. While waiting for the food my family and I got to play some board games to help pass the time which really made for a great evening. I will definitely be returning soon and can't wait to have the fish fry again! I think this has become our new favorite spot for a Fish Fry.More
