My husband and I were really excited to eat here and try thier famous fish fry on Friday night after multiple recommendations. We didn't wait long, maybe 10 minutes and the hostess was very nice and accommodating. We had a drink at the bar while...we waited and thier tap beer selection was good. Shortly after, we were seated and ordered right away as we knew what we wanted. The waitress brought everything out within 15-20 minutes. I ordered the baked cod with butter and my husband ordered the fried perch which was on special. After our first few bites we were very disappointed with the taste and quality of the fish. My baked cod was good, but no seasoning or anything special to it. It was also room temperature. My husband's perch on the other hand was terrible. It was clearly frozen and thawed as the breading pulled apart from the fish. And the taste was not good. No flavor and actually tasted fishy. The service was ok. Nothing to write home about. It did take her about 15 minutes to get my husband another beer, one that was on tap. We had talked about coming to dine here on another day when they had thier full menu but after this experience I probably would not.More

We love stopping in at the 5 O'Clock Club and arrived around 6pm to find the outdoor seating completely filled. We were seated in a dining room with tables appropriately separated. Sadly we had already ordered, (ore we would not have stayed) when we realized...that none of the waitstaff, hostess(s) or even the kitchen team had masks on. The bartender was partially wearing a mask- it did not cover her mouth and nose and later we noticed there was one young serving assistant that was wearing a mask. Like us, some of the guests arriving wore masks. There wasn't a sign at the entrance recommending masks, hand sanitizer anywhere or any attempt, other than separating the indoor tables that showed the restaurant management was aware of health regulations related to Covid19. We live in a neighboring county that has been providing guidance to restaurants, taverns and hotels - people support the business that have staff wearing masks, cleaning and sanitizing spaces between seatings - it is simply respectful to guests and their employees. We never expected that the 5 O'Clock Club would not insist on following guideline to keep their staff safe - it's hard to get good help. We have been making a point to support our favorite restaurants during the pandemic but we won't be back even though the food was good. Our check was over $80 plus tip - not bad for 2 people mid week. With most Wisconsin restaurants in trouble financially, there are plenty that are following guidelines for us to support.More

In many places all over the world, Friday night has been the traditional night to eat fish. This stems back to religion. Since Jesus was believed to have been crucified on a Friday, Catholics used to abstain from meat on Fridays year-round. Consequently, in Pewaukee...and elsewhere, many restaurants offer fish on Fridays, so is the case with 5 O’clock. It is the leading family-run restaurant since 1929 offering a variety of fish, burgers, steak, sandwiches, and more. Because of its good food, it is always packed to capacity. For the dinner, we reached there early as Friday night fish fry was extraordinarily busy. Pricewise, the food was a bit on the higher range. The waitress was busy because of the rush but she attended us actively with a smile. We enjoyed the tasty dishes and worth a return visit.More

Had dinner early recently. Food and service very good, no faults there. But when we walked in, the hostess was not wearing a mask, nor were any of the waitstaff. By the time we left, the staff was wearing masks but we had to walk...through the very crowded bar area, where none of the patrons (almost all older than 50,) were wearing a mask or maintaining distancing. I have dined here for years, but not since COVID broke out and I would not return until COVID threat is over since the clientele apparently feels they are immune.More

Best fish fry. This is the best fish fry in the lake country. They are very generous with their portions and the service is fantastic. I highly recommend putting this on your lunch schedule. Just keep in mind they are not open on Mondays

Great service and food. I wish I could remember the name of our server as she was perfect. Had a couple of small issues but she handled everything professionally and with good humor. The only downside is that it’s very loud and hard to hear....The prices were also really reasonable. Will definitely returnMore
