I had the ribs which were very tender with a decent rub. My wife had the pulled pork which she said was also very good. We also had a side of smoked wings. My wife got corn bread with her platter but for some reason...does not come with a rib platter. The spicy bbq sauce is Scandinavian spicy (so no, not spicy at all). Sauce selection was limited to two with one being more of a mustard base. Fries were also not very hot.More

My wife and I were rather pumped to stop at J&J Barbeque this week. The staff behind the counter were talking & wearing smack phases t-shirts about their BBQ ribs & brisket. Sady the brisket we were served would be major embassment if I was...the owner. We appreciate eating brisket that is moist with alot of favor and doesn't need a load of saurce to give it taste. The brisket for our sandwiches was a collection of crumbled brisket that was obviously over cooked, dry and look like a serving of scraps. It need of sauce to eat it. No real slices of meat. Will give credit to the baked beans as they were darn good. Mac & Cheese was nothing to write home about. One thing we noticed is that the bikers groups love to stop for ice cream. Should be stop in again, that is what we will order the same as wellMore

The food is delicious and the atmosphere is a lot of fun. We enjoyed the old signs that decorate the walls.

We have been to J & J's BBQ before and loved it! Last weekend (December 4, 2020) we brought friends who had never been there before and we had "talked it up" quite a bit. We arrived on a Friday night at 7:25 to find...the grill was closed so no burgers. Also, no broasted chicken. We were greeted with this information instead of a "Hello!" or "How are you this evening?" Feeling like intruders, we ordered, ate and left. Not as pleased as before. If you are planning to eat here on a Friday night, call ahead to be sure the place hasn't prematurely shut down their kitchenMore

We stopped in on a Saturday afternoon for late lunch and a beer. There was a car show earlier in the day, so the half rack of ribs special was still on. Our group of 4 all had ribs and a side and we were...not disappointed. We ate in an old garage out back called grandpa’s saloon. There was a bar out there and a bunch of tables. They had a big overhead door open so we were “outside” without being in the sun. There is a good selection of tap and bottled beer. The service was fast and friendly and the food was very good and very reasonably priced! Lots of street parking and they had both indoor and outdoor seating available also.More

We stopped for lunch while we were traveling home. You order at the counter and then they bring you your food. The girl at the counter was not friendly. Very abrupt and lacking in people skills. We ordered soda and there was no ice in...the machine. When I finally got her attention she said she would get to it. She and another girl were eating behind the counter down where the kitchen starts. I have never seen the staff eating that close to the kitchen anywhere. Especially with COVID about. The counter girls wore their masks down under their chins unless they came to take an order or bring out food. The first table we went to had salt all over it so I figured it wasn’t clean. I used a wet wipe to clean our table as I wasn’t sure how well they did it. I watched one of the staff just take away some dirty dishes and did not see her wipe it down. She may have after we left but that is not how it is supposed to be happening. We did think the food was good. The meat had a great Smokey taste and the sides were all very good. Won’t go back here until this COVID thing has passed.More

$15.30 bought a half rack of ribs and two small sides-- a bit pricey, but not outrageously so. The ribs were well prepared, with the meat cleanly separating from the bone upon biting down. They use a Memphis-style dry rub, and it is heavy enough...that the pepper overwhelms the flavor of the meat. Still, if you peel back the bark, what lurks beneath is meat that is tender, juicy and tasty. The ribs are well worth a try. As for the sides, the baked beans and mac 'n cheese were decent, although certainly not remarkable. The mac 'n cheese is the better option, and what I would order on a return visit.More

We had a wonderful lunch at this cozy Nelson spot. Split the ribs and brisket plate, plenty food for two. Ribs fell of the bone and had a good Smokey flavor. Brisket was tender with mild smokiness. Cole slaw was tasty, sweet and creamy with...celery seed, it did have an odd peppermint Bonbon color. Beans so so. Wish they had corn bread or a roll. Fast counter service. Beer available.More

Stopped by here one afternoon during the third week of October 2019. Had a brisket/pulled pork plate with sides. Food was very tasty, portions were huge, cost was reasonable. Atmosphere was one of those places with stuff on the walls everywhere.

If you are a barbeque lover, well you are in the right place. Huge barbeque portions of ribs, brisket, along with excellent cornbread, I would encourage you stop in only if you are hungry because you get a lot of food. You may wish to...split your order if you do want to take leftovers home!More
