Pros: Huge wine and beer selection. Chill and modern atmosphere. Excellent risotto. Cons: Cold soup, steaks cooked to wrong temp, substandard service. Admittedly, our reservation was very early in the evening, maybe before the staff could hit their stride. Still, after paying $150, I walked away feeling remorseful.

NOT a "fine dining experience"

First, my partner and I chose this restaurant as a treat to ourselves, as we just recently moved to the area. (I was already iffy on this, as it's a chain restaurant in a business hotel). Being it was early on a Tuesday night, we really didn't anticipate reservations being needed. We walked in and sat at the bar for a pre-dinner drink. It was already clear they were understaffed. Took quite a while to even get served. The bartender seemed overwhelmed, but still was cordial. I had wine, he had an old-fashioned. The old-fashioned was good, so we thought this was off to a great start. Upon asking about getting a table, we were asked if we had reservations (we did not). The bartender informed us they had a party of 6 coming in, and that we could not be fit in for a table. Mind you, in the time we were here, at no point in time was the dining room full. I am guessing the reason why we couldn't be seated is that they had ONE server and ONE bartender to take care of all the patrons. We settled up on eating at the bar (not ideal when trying to have a nice dinner). I ordered the petite filet with peppercorn crust and it was pretty good! The brussel sprouts were just OK, but the mushroom risotto was delish. My partner had a dry aged steak and it was overdone and nothing special. He added scallops, one was fine, the other 2 were either tough or sandy. While I completely understand the issue of understaffing in the service industry, this was most certainly NOT a dinner worth over $300. We should have just trusted our gut and gone to TJ's Highland Steakhouse in Oshkosh. A much classier atmosphere with true chef-curated entrees. Bottom line, don't waste your time or money unless you're staying at the Cobblestone for business and your expense card is footing the bill.

Excellent food and service. Traveling for business in the area, first time trying this restaurant. Highly recommend it. Had a Petite Filet which was extremely tasty and tender.

What A Disappointment!

We offered to take a newly wed couple to dinner and asked them to choose a place, as we are from out of town. Good. Grief. This is a restaurant with high-end prices and low-end atmosphere, food, and service. The wine was chilled properly and was the best part of the meal. No bread. Had to get up to get server to come over. Asked for pepper and a shaker was plopped down. The salad was swimming in dressing, the scallops inedibly salty, and the "special cut" of pork was laughable. Our bill was over $300 for a joke of a meal in this "chophouse" attached to a motel.

Hey Patty, I'd like to understand more about your visit here to our Neenah location. It sounds like your entire meal was not what you were expecting, but I received no complaints that evening. If we do we would fix it on the spot. We appreciate it when someone tells us if there is an issue while they dine with us so we can make it right, rather than telling us everything is great and finding out it wasn't later online.

We visited this restaurant October 22 we had reservations at 5 PM and arrived as the first guests, (me and my son). When we booked reservations online we did ask for a lower table. When we arrived she was sitting us at the high top table and I did ask to be seated at a lower table. None of the tables were filled so I did not think it would be a problem. She advised me that they were having a lot of people arrive and they needed the tables. When we left there was only two tables that were occupied. The menu is à la cart. My son ordered a $40 steak. The steak was season well, but it was over cooked in spots, and it looked as if it was boiled. We ordered the mushroom risotto and it was very good (I believe this dish was between $10 and $12) I ordered the chicken tortellini the chicken was horrible, it had no flavor, the tortellini was delicious (I believe this dish was about $32). Our server only filled our water glasses once, we did not order any other type of drinks. Overall, I was extremely disappointed that they could not treat us with respect and dignity from the first moment we walked in. They should’ve been more than happy to seat us at any table as a none of them were occupied. We should’ve left at that moment. I hope in the future they treat their guests with kindness and dignity.

We have been to Wissota many times and have tried many of their menu options and have never been disappointed. The staff is excellent when it comes to service and suggestions. Having a beer in their frosty glasses....the best! There are specialty cuts, such as Wagyu beef, and unique meats for the adventurous. Obviously, the Wagyu is a more expensive cut. But they have many affordable items on the menu. And don’t miss the shareables since those are always unique and fabulous. The pretzel is huge and goes well with one of the frosty mug beers, or I’m sure you will find a microbrew that will pair nicely with it. For the summer months, I highly recommend taking advantage of the beautiful outdoor patio. There is a fire pit with couches surrounding it and another lounge area near by. The rest are high and low top tables. There is a glass partition wall around the patio so you can do a little people/car watching. They have heaters for those cooler nights also. I highly recommend, and gosh, if you drink too much, stay the night! I cannot comment on the hotel since I’m from the area and no need to stay at the hotel. But if I had guests coming to the area, I would definitely send them there just because of the restaurant and the cleanliness of the facility. Enjoy!

Amazing Food

We let the kids have subway and mom and dad had a nice sit down dinner on our night at the attached Cobblestone Hotel. The one thing to know is everything is al a carte and although the food is fabulous as is the service, the dinner menu is $$$$. We had $18 burgers as the steaks started at $44. Still a great meal best burger I've ever had.

There were three of us that ate here and only one meal was good. The Jumbo prongs turned out very delicious. The Fillet Mignon was supposed to be medium rare and was well done. Tough to eat. The other steak was ok, but the crab cakes were burned on one side. With the price of this meal it should have all been delicious.

Stopped by the bar with the Mrs for a cocktail and a couple apps. Barely managed the first app after having to order it a second time. One other woman seated at the bar, we were ignored and got no service unless I asked. Had to wait 5 minutes to pay the bill while a large order was fussed over at the single computer. Was told everyone was new. The phrase “can I get you something else“ apparently isn’t covered until week two. If the manager had offered to comp something I would have accepted , I responded to “what could we do for you” with requesting they let me pay my bill so I could leave (three times).

Great food, poor problem resolution.

Wife and I were consistent guest of Wisota in Neenah WI. We have always enjoyed the food and service. Our last visit somehow ended with me being charged $88.00 for two Old Fashions. My wife has made numerous attempts to correct this problem only to be told numerous times a manger will get back to you asap. It has been months and no response. Unfortunately we will not be going back. If you do go, DON’T order the Old Fashions (not on drink menu).

I would not recommend. It's an okay place for lunch but definitely not as upscale as they portray. A step up from Applebees, however definitely better options in the area. Food is okay, but your typical hotel restaurant quality. Atmosphere is also just okay, as they share bathrooms with the hotel and the dining area smells like the adjacent pool.

Amazing food!

I had training at the hotel for the week and the food was amazing. Tried almost everything on the menu including desserts. The service was great as well. Highly recommend this restaurant in Neenah. Plus now that it’s getting nice out, you can sit out on their patio and enjoy the beautiful weather.
