We have been to Wissota many times and have tried many of their menu options and have never been disappointed. The staff is excellent when it comes to service and suggestions. Having a beer in their frosty glasses....the best! There are specialty cuts, such as...Wagyu beef, and unique meats for the adventurous. Obviously, the Wagyu is a more expensive cut. But they have many affordable items on the menu. And don’t miss the shareables since those are always unique and fabulous. The pretzel is huge and goes well with one of the frosty mug beers, or I’m sure you will find a microbrew that will pair nicely with it. For the summer months, I highly recommend taking advantage of the beautiful outdoor patio. There is a fire pit with couches surrounding it and another lounge area near by. The rest are high and low top tables. There is a glass partition wall around the patio so you can do a little people/car watching. They have heaters for those cooler nights also. I highly recommend, and gosh, if you drink too much, stay the night! I cannot comment on the hotel since I’m from the area and no need to stay at the hotel. But if I had guests coming to the area, I would definitely send them there just because of the restaurant and the cleanliness of the facility. Enjoy!More

I drove from Northern Michigan to Colorado and stayed at the Cobblestone Hotel which was very nice. After driving all day, I didn't want to drive out for dinner and was happy to dine at the Wissota Chophouse, which is attached to the hotel. Cherie...waited on me, and she was absolutely fantastic! She took good care of me, and after such a long day, I was double grateful for the friendly, efficient service. The food was just delicious! I had a tenderloin, and it arrived cooked exactly as specified (medium rare). It was tender and delicious. I also ordered one of the side dishes, the mashed potatoes. They were also delicious. Honestly, if I do this drive again, I will go out of my way to stay at this hotel just so that I can have dinner at this restaurant! It's not cheap, but it was worth every penny. Thank you, Cherie, for giving me a lovely, relaxing evening and a delicious meal!More

We ate dinner at this restaurant with friends. The location is a little surprising since it’s not in a restaurant-heavy area and attached to a hotel. Very new. The menu is very much chophouse style with ala carte sides. The atmosphere is more casual than...most chophouses we have been to but still nice. The grilled octopus appetizer was awesome as were the oysters. The lobster bisque was a little disappointing but the main course more than made up for it. We had bone-in ribeyes and filets, and they were excellent - some places hammer ribeyes with over cooking because of the marbling but these were perfect. Wine selection was reasonable but they do need to upgrade their port offerings. It is pricey - every bit of what you pay in a larger metro area chophouse but the experience was worth it in our opinion.More

My group found the servings to be too large, especially when you are traveling and have no way to use the leftovers. The food is excellent and was very enjoyable. We found the servers to be well trained and service-oriented.

This is a casual yet high end steakhouse located on highway CB near ATW airport. Setting is informal. Food was excellent. Steaks were cooked to perfection. Lobster tails tasty. Side veggies and potatoes were very good. Menu says the sides are for two, but they...really are for 3 to 4 people to share. Service was Wisconsin nice and not stuffy. Full bar (of course, its the Badger state). most importantly, they make a good old fashioned. Not cheap but worth the price for a nice dinner out. Easier to get to than their competition downtown.More

Very pricey with just marginal quality. My aged strip was ordered rare. I received tartar (raw). It went back 2 times to get it rare (lots of red and blood, but not raw). Steak was $45. Mushroom topping (1/4 cup?)-$7. Brussels sprouts and mashed potatoes...were marginal tasting & expensive. Carrot cake & Tiramisu were large, but blah tasting. $220 for two people with one glass of wine and one glass or beer & 16% tip. We ordered our drinks during happy hour but were charged for the full price. (I did not catch it at the restaurant.). We were hoping for an above average experience and were sadly disappointed.More

Overall, my husband and I were just so so with our meal. The steaks were well aged, and tender. We could have done without the drawn butter poured over the steaks, that’s a gimmick that ruins a great piece of meat in my opinion. It...would have merited a mention on the menu or from our server who treated us as culinary bumpkins. We also could have done without his over clarification of what medium rare means or asking twice whether I “really want the little fishies on my Caesar salad”. The grilled octopus starter was extremely tender, the menu description of lemon Cajun butter is misleading. It was served caked with Cajun spice mix, many areas visibly dry with powder, nothing remotely buttery about it. I had to scrape a layer away to make it palatable. The bacon slab it was presented on was very generous and tasty. The Caesar salad was huge, it really is a shareable plate. The Parmesan crisps in the salad were very thick, bordering on jawbreaker rather than a nice, crunchy, cheese tuile. Probably the greatest surprise was my husband’s bone in Reserve KC strip ordered medium rare came out nearly raw, bordering purple when cut at the outer edge. He had to send it back, even then it was returned barely at medium rare. The center was definitely cool, red rare. Pretty sad when steaks are the mainstay of your menu. The fish and seafood choices sounded good, they may be choices at a repeat visit. Definitely not a weekly dining choice unless you go for happy hour and order shareables. Bill for two with no alcohol or dessert $130 before tip.More

5 stars across the board. Atmosphere is warm, welcoming and clean. Comfortable chairs and plenty of room between tables. Service was spot on. Our waiter was attentive, knowledgeable of menu and replaced utensils between courses (we appreciate that). Meals were presented well and flavorful. Steaks...were delicious. Bacon slab appetizer was amazing. I had oysters on the half shell and was impressed with freshness and flavor. Brussel sprouts were cooked to perfection. The shareable vegetables are enough for two or three people. We also had chocolate cake and bread pudding. Wow! Mouth watering. Plenty of wine to choose from. 4-6pm is happy hour on a Saturday night. What a pleasant surprise. We will be back! Only recommendation… The green doors that you enter into the restaurant are difficult to open. You have to turn the knob and then pull. Sounds simple enough but several people including our party could not get in. This probably needs to be addressed. Advertise and market the heck out of this place. We live in Oshkosh and didn’t know about it until this weekend as a friend happened to mention it. See you soon!More
