I look for good pulled pork everywhere I go and when I saw that Lefty's had it I had to go there. This place is among the best I have ever had. Even with the scare of covid, they were able to provide easy curbside pick up. From the first bite we were all impressed at how tender and moist it was. Be aware that these sandwiches are so big they are cut in half to eat them. In addition, they include some excellent fries. If you don't go here you are missing out on some of the best pulled pork you will ever have. I am so glad we went here.

Worth the wait

My wife and I stopped in on a Saturday night, place was busy, food smelled good so we waited for a table. The seating area is pretty small so don't expect to get a table right away. While we waited noticed quite a bit of carryout orders being picked up, so that's an option if you don't want to wait. We were told it would be about a 45 minute wait and it was. Got a table, very friendly staff, our order was brought in less than 10 minutes. I had the Deacon sandwich (brisket), wife had the ribeye sandwich, both with fries. Both were excellent & the fries were some of the best I've ever had. We will eat there again! I would suggest stopping in about an hour before you want to eat & get your name put on the list, then go wander around till they call you.

Just as I remembered

I first came to Pancho and Lefty's about 4 years ago. I thought about their bread pudding for months. This trip we had the chicken fajita tacos. They were a burst if flavor. I had to get the bread pudding and it was just as I remembered. They have such an eclectic menu, everything looks good and the other patrons all seem happy with their orders. Word of warning...call ahead or leave yourself some waiting time. It's a small restaurant and is always packed. Well worth the wait!

Put the Beef Queso on the regular menu!

Small space with eclectic art everywhere, right on the downtown square. Their queso (we do queso's everywhere) is going to inspire a lot copying in our household. Great flavors, unique style. The Grand Champion sandwich is amazing. All their meats are amazing. The fries are great, hand cut, crunchy outside, moist inside. Even the coleslaw is refreshingly different and worth mentioning. Roxanne completed the experience with good recommendations and knowledge of all the preparations. Well worth a visit.

Very creative menu

Have been a semi-regular here since they opened 10 years ago. First thing to remember for 1st time visitors is it is a CASH only restaurant. 2nd thing is they have very limited indoor seating capacity. If it is a busy time call ahead and put your name on the list. They do a LOT of carryout business which i mostly use. Everything on their menu has interesting little twists to it making it unique. One of my favorites is the Reubenesque. If you like a Reuben, you will love this sandwich! They smoke their corned beef taking the Reuben to a different level. They have two other sandwiches made with this smoked corned beef. My other favorite is their gyros which are made with a lamb sausage, making them a very authentic gyro. Also any of their barbecue menu items are good. I have family from Texas that I bring there that rates their BBQ very high. It also helps to watch their Facebook page as they sometimes post daily specials.

Stop in and be impressed

Pulled pork and shrimp burrito was outstanding and would have again. They were busy on a Saturday with multiple times where there were lines, but service was excellent and delivered quicker than expected. Had the cleaning up after diners had left down to an art. No wasted table motions setting up for the next diner, kudos for a well trained staff.

It's been a while since I've ventured to Monroe, WI. So happy that P & L's survived the pandemic and is back - better than ever. It's as if Anthony Bourdain and Emeril Lagasse had a baby and named it Pancho & Lefty's. Honest, hardworking people making delicious food. Midwestern nice with just enough spice. Well worth the trip.

Enjoyed the dinner

15 months after our first visit and reviewed here we returned to Monroe from out of town (Phoenix) . I did make reservations 2 weeks out via telephone with the owner Nadine. However upon arrival our reservation was lost and our favorite table taken. We returned 45 minutes later when they accommodated us, but it took some of the enjoyment away from the evening. Food was good and service as well. Still recommend this restaurant for dinner in Monroe.

Everything about this restaurant is awesome. It doesn't have much seating but if you have to wait for a place to sit, its worth the wait. The food was top notch as was the service. This most definitely a hidden treasure in Monroe, WI. If get to this town it has a lot of hidden treasures. Check each one out you wont be dissapointed.

Gormet meal in little ole Monroe

Yes fine dining at its finest. Great hosts and service. This place gets busy fast so arrive early when possible. If not the wait is worth it. Everything on the menu is delicious. I wear their tee shirt proudly. The owners took time off during Covid, but we are all glad they are back as a popular venue on the square in Monroe.

They did the food for our class reunion. Absolutely incredible. Melt in your mouth brisket and pulled pork along with the best Mac and cheese I have ever eaten. Wonderful people to work with. Thanks so much.

What a great spot. Awesome food and a great waitress. Brisket sandwich was excellent. Pig on Pig pulled port and bacon sandwich excellent also. Highly recommend!
