OK food, place needs a deep clean!

The place needs a serious deep scrub. The bar top was sticky, our table was sticky, the floors…you guessed it, sticky. My shoes were literally sticking to the floor. The ladies bathroom was…well, ick. Makes a guest (well, for sure THIS guest) wonder about the kitchen. We had the hibachi, and the food was pretty good - not the best I’ve had at similar restaurants, no doubt the ambiance made me nervous and that impacted my enjoying my meal. Clean up your restaurant PLEASE!

Extensive menu and convenient location

Extensive menu. Regular seating plus sushi bar. Lots of parking. Full bar. Plenty of well lit seating. Helpful and pleasant wait staff. Reasonably quick service. The Seafood Yaki Udon was excellent as was the Seafood Fried Rice.

Love Edo Garden on Monona Drive. The sushi is always delicious, the salad has the best dressing, and the miso soup.....yum! I've been getting my sushi here for years, and never had a bad experience. Some days it takes longer to get the food, but the quality is always really good.

I went for a late lunch with a friend. The service was great and it had a very nice atmosphere with the screened off tea rooms. I will definitely be back for more of their Delicious sushi!

WORST SERVICE EVER!!!!

My 2nd Time here. I literally just left a few mins ago. My first time was great! But tonight? This was THE WORST EVER! We were seated. 20 mins goes by, no server, no water, no nothing! Seriously?? People who were getting seated after us were greeted, given drinks and all. Worst customer service ever. We left. Got up and left. A party was seated 2 MINUTES before we left. When we got in our car, we could see them through the window getting their water and getting their order taken already. THANKS FOR NOTHING! Waste of 20 mins breathing their smokey air because they thought it was a bright idea to bring in those hot dishes that are still sizzling, FYI, IT WAS BURNT THATS why it smelled that way and smoke filled the room so quick! It was not because it was cold outside. TRY AGAIN! Lying to customers when you can smell the food BURNING. Also, I would advise having more waitresses/waiters vs hosts. NEVER AGAIN!

Food is just okay. Never get excited to eat there. Kids love looking at the turtles, but it could be more kid friendly.

Takeout not worth it

I ordered the simplest sushi, 2 spicy California rolls. Right from opening the bag I was heart broken. It looked like supermarket sushi, it even had the little fake grass liner paper separating the rows. What made it worse was the flavor was just as boring. It really was like super market sushi. Big let down.

I was looking for a nice sit down restaurant for hibachi grills. This place did not disappoint. The Chef at the grill was fantastic and fun. Our food was so delicious. I will definitely come back here.

Best Sushi in Madison

To date, best sushi I have found in town. Always very good service and a ton of selection. I have not tried the hibachi, but the sushi bar is fantastic, highly recommend!

The are some better alternatives in the area.

Our favorite Japanese/Teppanyaki restaurant, Ginza of Tokyo, had closed so we were looking for a replacement. We got a coupon for Edo Garden in Monona and thought we would try it. The food was OK but not as good as what we used to get at Ginza. Their sushi and Japanese entrees may be better. We didn't try any of them on this visit.

Quiet, clean setting with tasty food. Ordered the General Tso Chicken. Just the right amount for a meal, but I’ve been to other places with plenty to take home. Plum wine complimented the dinner. Good, friendly service. Realsonable prices, large menu.

All you can eat Sushi

On Sunday - Tuesday all you can eat Sushi. Although you have to be really hungry to do it economically. Otherwise order exactly what you want and you have a great choice to chose from. All of it is fantastic. We like to go there at least once a month with the grandsons who devour the stuff.

Superior friendly service

Went with friends for a birthday lunch celebration and was really impressed with the friendliness of the service. Prompt, explained sauces and options, very enjoyable hibachi presentation for 4 very different orders! Loved the onion volcano on flame show! Food stayed hot & came in order so we could chat, enjoy the presentation, AND eat comfortably . Hibachi shrimp, chicken & veggie, tempura veg, fried rice, and rolls all delish. The saw it was a celebration & brought out green tea ice cream for us. Volunteered to take our photos with all sorts of cameras, and we're engaging without hovering. Wonderful time & meals were enjoyed by our entire group!

Delicious food and great service

A very generous and tasty menu with a lot of variety. We had a lunch with miso soup, salad, sushi, pork gyoza and shrimp and vegetable tempura and it was all delicious. The service was terrific.
