I was very impressed by the menu choices here, and the option to order any dish as vegetarian or vegan. I had a breakfast scrambler and a smoothie, and my companions both had burritos; everything was delicious and beautifully presented. There weren't any tables available inside so we sat outside (across from the dumpsters, not very attractive but we still... More

Recently moved back to riverwest and decided to stop into the co-op. Will definitely be stopping back frequently for regular grocery shopping. Excellent selection, reasonable prices, wide variety of food/cleaning supplies/tea, etc. Volunteers are also so kind and make shopping there even more of a pleasure. The attached cafe has tasty wholesome food too! I love it so much I... More

Small place run by volunteers makes it unique. Everything mad to order from local produce. The soups are great and the salads are great. The entrees are so good that you would give up lasagna with meat!

I love the sandwiches that they make! Employees are always happy to see you, even when they are busy. Only problem I have is that time estimates for pick up orders are wildly variable, sometimes 15 minutes is 10 sometimes it's 35, not generally a big deal, but can be a pain if you are in a hurry. That small... More

I keep coming back and never get tired of the tried and true flavors offered here. I can't get enough of all the options and the only complaint is that the space is to small for when the whole family comes along.

I was really craving some vegan food during my long weekend in Milwaukee, and this place was a total save. I had the kale salad and potato salad, along with a kale smoothie. Everything was delicious. Oh, the vegan chocolate chip cookies are unreal. I bought 6 in two days and all my friends were begging for more. I love... More

Expect a very, very small restaurant. Inside seating for about 8-10 people. Outdoor seating (front sidewalk) available. The food will surprise you- it is great quality and relatively fast. Great healthy menu. Many interesting options- my black bean burrito w/sweet potato was perfect. Clean, funky, hippie, healthy, quaint, laid back, friendly all describe this place. The attached grocery is fun... More

None of the pretension of health food. Just good folks cooking up great tasting food for a reasonable price. Very neighborly, amazing diversity. Very Riverwest.

We were so happy we made the trip out to this cozy, middle of the neighborhood, veg-friendly cafe! It made the mid-west feel like eating at home (in LA). I'm also a huge fan of cafe/store combo and an even bigger fan of the co-op model. The Riverwest Co-op truly exemplified how a co-op works when a patron walked up... More

Very tasty veggie meals served at the 5 tables in the side-room off of the crunchy-granola co-op grocery. The 2-3 people behind the counter - and a good number of the customers have as much inked art on their bodies (along with multiple piercings and vintage/second-hand inspired clothing) as there is art on the walls from local artists. I've always... More

Description
The Riverwest Co-op Cafe opened in 2004 next to the store in what used to be the building's garage. We serve what we're confident is the best vegan and vegetarian food in town. The Cafe is open 7 am to 9 pm Monday through Friday and and 8 am to 9 pm on weekends. Outdoor seating is available when the weather is good.

The Cafe menu is vegan/vegetarian made-to-order sandwiches, soups, desserts, and smoothies, using organic and locally grown produce whenever possible. A rotating selection of freshly-made vegan and vegetarian bakery and desserts are also featured. Our cooks takes great pride in using predominantly local, organic and small company produced ingredients.

We now serve our full breakfast menu every morning with extended brunch hours on the weekends: 7 am until 11 am on weekdays and 8 am until 2 pm on the weekends. A limited version of our brunch menu can also be order at the Riverwest Public House from 11 am to 2 pm on weekends.

Call for take-out orders, delivery via Flavorcycle or information on catering orders.
