Our friends took us to La Merenda before a concert at the Summerfest grounds. The place was packed and the wait over 45 minutes. We managed to find a seat at the bar and from there, everything went smoothly. Between the four of us we ordered 9 dishes, three at the recommendation of the bar staff. The range of flavors... More

Great Food. The international tapas are wonderful. Peter Sandroni, the owner, definitely knows what he is doing. The patio is great for large groups.

While visiting friends made reservations here. We waited at the bar for a table. They were quite busy on a Tuesday evening. I was a bit hesitant when looking at their menu since they were trying to do so many different cuisines. Wow! We were surprised. Their empanadas were some of the best I've ever had! Argentinian Beef was spot... More

First time here, came by way of 2 recommendations. Don't let the double door entry deter you. Once inside the bar looks dark, the restaurant is large -there is an outdoor patio as well. Dishes are served "tapas" style, which is great for sharing /trying different things. Portions are generous. Very diverse menu. Everything we had was enjoyable! ( we... More

This was a great place to get out and enjoy a good meal. There is outside and inside or bar seating and the quaint setting helps you relax and enjoy the offerings. The service was excellent and prompt. Tapa servings and different international flavors are just the beginning with Bar offerings that are unusual but tasty. You can ask about... More

Went here for a casual dinner with colleagues. The staff was attentive, friendly and very accommodating to food preferences. We ordered a little bit of everything and loved each one of them. Highly recommend the potato peels tapas (cannot remember the actual name). The place is packed even on weekdays, so I recommend making a reservation. They have tapas from... More

The tapas had the best flavor and taste! We had over 9 in our group in 4. Sangria was great. Neighborhood is a little questionable, but the car was fine. Put it this way their our several gentlemen clubs near by. We didn't use valet, but we could have easily. Our new place to visit again! My husband travels all... More

We had been regulars at La Merenda when the joint first opened YEARS ago. We came to sit in the fabulous patio/gardens/bar area. So lovely. We were spoiled by Sarah - tender of the bar, Abby and Theodore. We spoke to Peter Sandroni, the proprietor. He owns LM and Engine Company NO.3 - both stellar. We ate the special -... More

My family visits Milwaukee often and have been "mired in tradition" by going to the same restaurants until NOW. La Merenda is a culinary GEM serving small plates, all designed to please your taste. Off the beaten track in an area with plenty of parking in a building with less appeal than you would expect (don't judge a book by... More
