Her birthday dinner was absolutely incredible. The space was idyllic and our server Danielle was friendly without being overbearing. Joe, the sommelier was patient and kind in navigating the extensive Bordeaux list. ☺️ The evening was well paced and we enjoyed all selections from the amuse bouchée to the port tasting in the three course prix fixe menu. Thank you Bacchus! We will be back. NB and KME

Great central location. Service impeccable, but there were no many diners, so perhaps easier to pay attention. Rarer than Rubies was a gin, pomegranate, and ginger syrup with lime cocktail that was most enjoyable. Vegetarian menu provided, completely separate from the main menu. An amuse bouche was provided for vegetarian and meat eaters alike. Deep fried cheese curds with blueberries was a must, followed by a squash risotto and an amazing dessert that had candied fruit and spun sugar!

We were in Milwaukee for a long weekend and wanted to pick one "nice" restaurant to eat at. We really enjoyed it. We started with two delicious cocktails at the bar before being seated. The service was really good and the servers were very polite. We each ordered from the three course menu. I am a vegetarian which they had a special menu for. I had the goat cheese curds, carrot entrée, and chocolate truffle dessert. My boyfriend had the duck dumplings, filet mignon entrée, and the honey cake. The food was all great! I had to knock off a star though because I was disappointed at the size of my entrée. It was delicious but was just a few roasted carrots and should have had more substance to it to be considered an entrée. I wish I would've gotten the tofu dish since it sounded like it had more to it. I just trusted that the carrot dish would've been more filled out than it was.

For a 3 course dinner at $60 I would expect more quality. Arancini appetizer was salty and very average Spanish octopus appetizer was mediocre in flavor and texture. Halibut main course was average at best Rack of lamb was terribly fatty and grisly Only good part of the dinner was the cherry cheese cake desert Bacchus used to be an outstanding restaurant when Joe Bartolotta was still alive. Sadly the Bartolotta restaurants seem to be losing it!

When we called to seek a reservation, we had no idea that this was a 3 or 5 course prix fix restaurant. We only wish we had been given that heads up. As neither of us wanted this option, we were offered seats at the bar where we could order. Perhaps meal sizes are so infinitesimal because they are meant to be part of the 3 or 5 course plan (we are not gluttons, nor do we required huge portions often offered). For approximately $120 (no alcohol whatsoever, 3 appetizers, 1 small main course, a dessert and coffee), we definitely would not recommend this restaurant. While perhaps the creativity could be appreciated by some, it was lost on us as, unfortunately, we saw nothing special in our selections.

Good service, average food for an expensive restaurant, large but overpriced wine list. The two menu choices are a bit forced but allow no changes. And it is NOT vegetarian friendly! There are far better options in Milwaukee.

Great fine dining experience in Milwaukee. Service was pristine and engaging, food was very good with a couple of minor hiccups and drinks were specially good. Highly recommended for a nice dinner or a special occasion.

Hands down one of the best meals I’ve ever had! We did the 5 course tasting menu with sommelier wine pairing. Amazing. Service impeccable. Beautiful dining room, with an upscale but lively vibe but quiet enough to have a conversation!

for our daughter's graduation! Very good service, one of the best I ever had. It is abit pricey but everything was first class. We love it and were not disappointed. They had recently open up and worked off of a Fix Menu. Parking (as they told us) is abit tight, we toke a Uber there. Food was all unique and excellent. Thank you!

Why have I waited for 5 years here in MKE to try this? Tonight, I took my father out to dinner. He is nearly 87 and pretty much loves steak. I'm vegetarian. Therefore, finding a place that has quality food for both of us is a chore. From the moment we arrived, we were greeted with kindness. The staff was exceptional. Our waitress, Mayah was as thoughtful, intuitive and fantastic as the best customer service goals could envision. But, the big thing, besides the beautiful, elegant space right across from Lake Michigan, was the meal. Bacchus offers several options for a fixed price meal. And, at $70, it is a serious deal. I found the vegetarian options inspired. I had the LACLARE GOAT CHEESE CURDS: blueberry compote, arugula, smoked walnuts, macerated blueberry, vanilla, and Tellicherry peppercorn. For my main course I had the butternut squash risotto. And, for afters, the pear and sunflower. My father went straight for the filet mignon. So, the result was a big thumbs up, 5 stars. Kudos also for actually having a vegetarian menu, being super accommodating to my father in his mobility scooter (holding the doors open, etc.) and lastly, thank you to the valet parking attendant for being so speedy and gracious. Go.

Was very excited to dine at Bacchus. Unfortunately the experience was not a good one. Service was poor for a restaurant charging fine dinning prices.

My husband and I have been loyal customers of Bartolotta Ristorante for longer than I can remember. They have been top on our list until tonight. Our first time out at a restaurant since Covid and looked forward to celebrating. What a disappointment! All of our favorites are no longer on the menu. We were told we needed to choose a 4 course meal. You had to have all four courses for a base fee of 65.00 with add ons if your choose one of the higher priced course. We were told they would be changing their menu every 4 week featuring different parts of Italy. Over all the food was not "bad" but it was not what I wanted. Nor did I want a four course meal. I use to like that they gave you the option of getting small plates-half portions. This was great for the smaller eater. So, unfortunately I will not be going back unless they change the menu back to the way it was.

Was here for a wedding and boy was it magical! The Lakeview dining room looked like a conservatory (see photo), had tons of sunlight from all the windows, and plenty of room for 50 guests. Tables were spaced just right, and the bar was right next to it. There were French doors that went out to the patio for those needing fresh air, a smoke or just a better view of Lake Michigan or Lake Park. The food was delicious! They had canape appetizers - our favorites were the braised mushroom and mini-quiches. For the main meal I had the filet & scallops with whipped potatoes. OMG!!! The filet was HUGE! I couldn't finish it. They offered to-go boxes, so I didn't have to. The wedding cake was made at an outside venue, but they had small Viennese treats offered after our meal. The waitstaff were very attentive and amenable to guest needs. We were even given the "last call" heads-up, which is always something you need to do with talkative and happy wedding guests! Oh! Food allergies? NO PROBLEM! They were extremely accommodating in this area as well. They put your food allergy and meal code on your place card - very clever.

Finally had a chance to dine here following their recent remodel and reimagining. The food and service is a definite step above what it was and we will gladly become regulars here. The music playlist they had was also enjoyable: from Wilco, Oasis, the Cure, Talking Heads, to Matthew Sweet and the National. Our kind of music. Incredible drinks and food. Highly recommend.
