Very Good Surprise

We were in Milwaukee for another event and needed to stop for lunch and El Greco was in the neighborhood. (had not been there in mega years) Good choice, prices nominal, selection great options, service well done. Had the Tuesday special, German Pot Roast. Very hearty serving, meat tender and flavorful, sauce with carrots and onions, different but flavorful. All in all a very good visit.

friendly & efficient wait staff, food is OK

I met a couple people here for a late dinner because it was convenient location for all. We showed up about 7:30 pm on a weeknight and were seated right away. The place had about 20 customers at the time. There was a sign at the hostess station saying they couldn't parties of more than six because of a labor shortage. Our servers was chipper and dialed in. She knew we were having a meeting so left us alone until she saw we were ready to order. The clientele was diverse and I mean that in a positive way in every sense of the word. Across from us an elderly man was eating huge plate of liver and onions and a young family was busy at another table. I order a chicken fajita wrap and fries. It came with a complimentary bowl of chicken and dumpling soup, but it was hot outside and wasn't in the mood. It was what I expect from a diner. Would I make a special trip to eat here? Probably not. In the neighborhood and hungry, then yes.

Better Late Than Never!

After our congregation's meeting, a group of friends arrived an hour before an early 4pm Christmas Eve closing. I was pleasantly surprised by the patient, prompt and professional service. One of us required wheelchair accommodations. The placement and table height worked out well for her. The server carefully listened to our specific meal requests, without making us feel rushed. Each dish was enjoyed. The portions were generous, so we needed to-go containers. We all would have enjoyed more time to savor our meals but we truly appreciated El Greco's availability at a time when most restaurants in the area were closed. I've been there many times over 20 years. I've enjoyed breakfast, lunch and dinner. I highly recommend El Greco. Just remember that large groups automatically have tips included - or you'll tip twice!

NASTY, NASTY AND MORE NASTY

My sister and I went to this place on 10/9/2020 for breakfast. First, the dirty waitress had a stank attitude. To add insult to injury, the food came back as dingy at best. I ordered 2 eggs (sunnay side up) Needless to say, the sun did not come out. The eggs were brown. My white toast was like a stale cracker, the hash browns were hard and left over, and worst of all, my ham was spoiled to the point that it wasn't edible. At that point, I just snapped. I told the waitress that the ham was spoiled, she said and I quote "no it isn't". That is when i lost it..I told her to give me my check for juice only and she know what she could do with that slop she was trying to pawn off as food. Do not eat at this place as I believe it is a Covid Castle. Nasty, Nasty and more Nasty.

Family Brunch

Oh dear; this was once the only place for our family gatherings, this place has really gone down hill. Once arriving at reserved brunch, our table was not ready and the staff was very frustrated overwhelmed and unruly toward us (especially dad 🥺) as we waited patiently and was brought to our table, we noticed they used booths to accommodate the rest of the family, after bringing it to their attention, we were told , why are you still here if you don’t like the set up?” Our family brunch eventually decided to leave and was appalled at the behavior of our beloved restaurant, we’ve all decided that from now on El Greco will no longer be a family gathering for us, I pray their service gets better and they no longer treat Good people aggressively and unprofessional again. Good food, fair prices!

I don't eat pork often, or buy to cook at home, but when I want a good fried pork chop meal this is definitely my go-to place. I eat the one of two chops and the nice big bowl of fresh salad, and I'm good to go!! There is plenty of leftovers for the husband to eat a dinner after work. The greeters always pleasant and the wait staff on point! If you happened to be in the neighborhood...give them a try for breakfast, lunch, or dinner. 👍🏾

Let me start off by saying the waitress was amazing. I can’t remember her name but she was an older caucasian lady with a pleasant demeanor & fantastic work ethic. She ran her tail off the entire time. I got the fajitas, flavor was 🤌🏻, fresh crisp peppers and onions with good quality chicken came out sizzling & plenty of it. My only complaint was the tiny plastic cup of half filled sour cream & salsa sent out. It was gone on the first fajita and of course they charge for extra. My fiancé got breakfast. He enjoyed the sausage links & forcefed me the french toast noting it was light & delicious. We were stuffed but the dessert case looked bomb so he got oreo cake to take home and I got the fresh strawberry topped cheesecake. The cheesecake is what I like to call “worth being fat for”.😂 Literally, SO good. If nothing else, give them a try just for it. We enjoyed our visit. I will note that the area didn’t seem to be the greatest & a few of the patrons had bad attitudes & attempted to make a scene about their food and/or takeout order not being up to par. I find this to be a person problem more than a restaurant problem. Who would walk up in a restaurant yelling at staff & demand to see a manager over lack of plastic silverware & stale bread? Apparently, the people here do. Unfortunate, but the staff persisted none the less and wished us a nice day on our way out.

I've eaten at this restaurant for over 6 years. The staff is very friendly, bathrooms are always clean and the food is great! You can always tell how clean a restaurant is by their bathrooms. There is always someone cleaning and moping. The owners are friendly and their hostess are friendly. I highly recommend eating here. They make you pay up front during the night because people have been known to eat and run off. It's the times we live in. You pay at the cashier when leaving normally.

Friday Fish Fry!!

We were in town for the Packers game, visiting (his) relatives prior to heading north. I (the wife) wanted a typical Friday Fish Fry (while in Wisconsin...), El Greco had no waiting so we went in. Staff was minimal, yet efficient. The fish fry was very good and plentiful. I so regret not getting our waitress' name. When (not if) we are in town on a Friday, we will be back.

I have been eating here for years and they have great food the staff is amazing and u cant go wrong on the price. In a bad mood go and get a huge peice of chessecake. It always helps me out. But really love the staff and how they treat there guests

Long Time Family Favorite

My "guy friend" and I were in town for a week, as it was part vacation, and part that he was meeting my family. When in town, I have been coming to this restaurant for years. They have everything you can think of on the menu. I always have the Broasted Chicken. It takes 20 minutes to make, but absolutely worth the wait. You can smell it, as the server brings it to your table, and you imagine just how good its going to taste with the first bite. It's always crunchy on the outside, and moist and tender on the inside. My guy had the Cheeseburger and Fries, which he enjoyed. Since soup came with my meal, along with French Fries, I insisted that he try the Chicken and Dumpling Soup, which was one of the specials for the day. We both loved the soup. Always good food and good service. Since he is now part of the family, he looks forward to coming back again.
