Had the pleasure of dining here during my trip to Milwaukee. I definitely enjoyed my experience. Everything was cooked to perfection. I started with the Moules Marinière. The mussels were cooked to perfection and sauce was very light and fragrant. Then I tried the Fondue...de Gruyère Aux Asperges which was very flavorful. For my main plate, I had the Fricassé de Homard and the lobster was cooked so delicately that it nearly melted in my mouth. And lastly for dessert I had the delicious Mousse au Chocolat "Yves Camdeborde." Wish I hadn't came so late so I could check out the view everyone spoke about but I still loved every minute of my meal.More

My husband and I have dined here over the years when in Milwaukee. Though the food was quite good, it was disappointing to find the restaurant not as it was pre-COVID. Instead of ordering off a menu, it was prix fixe. My favorite, sole meunerie,...was no longer an option. Service was good and the courses timed well. It is still a beautiful, historic spot and I would highly recommend it.More

We had a great Valentines Day dinner! The food was simply delicious and filling. The staff was courteous and patient - tough to do when the restaurant is all booked up and full. Sam and Brandon were our servers and they took the time to...explain our options and give us their recommendations. Overall a great experience for a nice, intimate and delicious meal - highly recommend it!More

First time here since the pandemic and the menu has changed. As pointed out, it is a Prix Fixe menu but the portions are perfect. (Go with the lamb chops). Bartolotta’s are always great but it really is an elegant setting and meal for fans...of French food.More

We have been waiting a while to eat here. Ann the bartender permitted us to sit at the bar at 430 which is before opening at5. Her attention to us was fantastic. We love eating at the bar so this was perfect for us. Her...service was great! Each course was timed perfectly. The wine she helped us pick out was delicious. We and another couple recently ate at Lake Park Bistro, which had been a favorite restaurant for a quarter of a century. Alas, they've had to change their dining experience to almost cafeteria like ...1 from column A, 1 from column B, etc. A selection...of 5 or so for each of 4 courses. The better ones carry supplemental prices. Two of four the courses are described as "small", which they surely are. Gone are such favorites as bistro steak frites, or trout. It's not that the food isn't good. It's just that the whole dinner is so mechanical, and lacks any soul. The website describes the change as from a rustic bistro to a haut bistro. I'm not sure either is correct. I understand the need to change to the new automated format to counter rising costs and personal and supply shortages. We simply hope that we can get this behind us, and return to the wonderful warm and inviting Lake Park Bistro that used to be.More

My wife and I visited LPB for our anniversary, as we had visited before with a large group (visiting vintner for tasting and dinner), but we wanted to experience the restaurant in a more intimate setting. We were sorrily disappointed, indeed. In my life, my...wife and I have enjoyed meals in restaurant from Kazakhstan to South Korea, and this night was the only night a server ever extinguished and removed the candle from the table while we were still eating. While our appetizers and drinks were timely delivered, we saw our dinners sitting on a rolling cart by the kitchen, which my wife noted immediately, but it couldn't be...given the reputation of the restaurant. My wife was correct. The ice trays were ours, indeed. We sent them back, but they again returned cold (I noted this is a recurring issue, based on other reviews here). We were not offered desert, nor coffee. We were classically double teamed by two servers...one dropped the check and another, literally moments later, asked if she could "take care of that for us." I have no idea why the staff wanted us to leave. We weren't the last table, and a large group was in another part of the restaurant (and by large group, it appeared to be a rehearsal dinner or other party of several dozen attendees). Everything was rushed, except the entrees, which were cold. The next day, I penned a letter to the manager, who never responded. Incredulously, the manager appeared on local news stating (and I'm serious here) that any restaurant that was any good at all at customer service would reply to all customer complaints. My mouth hung agape. So, by its own admission, LPB is no good at all. I don't understand how this restaurant has any repeat business. Perhaps the reputation is the grease on the lens that gives people a skewed view, but clean off that lens and it is ugly, indeed. Please note, that this experience was not due to one person alone...that's forgivable. However, with cold food, bad service (at least two servers working in concert), and no reply to our initial complaint, this is a facility wide issue. Never, ever again.More

Tuesday we had a large family gathering after a memorial service. The staff was so attentive to all our needs,(food allergies, etc) The location is lovely and the view of the lake is great. It is set in a lovely park. All of us had...a great meal, and the service was wonderful. We were there on a night with a prix fix menu...so we had some amazing choices. Scallops, lobster and beef were all choices...everyone was happy with their meal. Thanks so much to the Bartolotta staff.More

We were able to get a last minute reservation on a Saturday with a seat for 2 by the window with an awesome lake view! They were offering a set 4 course meal that was small yet very filling and the price was super right!...For app I had scallops and they were moist a cooked perfectly. Then 2nd course had duck fois grois which was really delish but it was to rich for the portion. They could've given a 3rd of the amount and it would've been perfect. I had the poached African lobster for entree, which was very sweet and again cooked perfectly. For dessert, the last course, I had this cake and ice cream dish which was dood too. I pretty much tasted everything that my date had as well. But I only remembered what I liked. He had a cheese and onion tart thingy that was great and some stew..that was ok, he loved it. I didn't try the entre but the creme brule was soo rich and good. They brought out some complimentary desserts that consisted of coconut macaroons an this like raspberry lemon jelly square. Both were soo nasty to me. I love macaroons but these weren't even sweet and the jelly square was soo bitter, they could've left well enough alone and kept both of them! Lol But overall, I definitely recommend for a date night. Price for 2 around $140.00.More

What a wonderful restaurant this is! I was in Milwaukee for business and this restaurant was recommended to me - every aspect of my visit was just perfect. I was seated in the rear room which is sort of like a sun room. This area...would be the prime location when it is light enough to enjoy the gorgeous lake view - if you are dining when it is dark outside the other room would be just as nice. The neighborhood you drive through to reach the restaurant is a beautiful residential neighborhood - I loved looking at all the stately homes. The menu is sort of French, but not in a fussy way. I ordered the Steak Frites - it was delicious and served just as ordered: medium. Service was informed and excellent. Wine list is excellent. Prices are on the higher side but completely in-line with quality and ambiance.More

We made a reservation over six weeks ahead to guarantee a table overlooking the lake. The table we were seated at was overlooking the women's restroom. We ordered cocktails and the waiter specifically asked what kind of cherries that I wanted in my drink. My...drink was served to my guest and I received her drink. My drink didn't have any cherries. The food was excellent, but had a price to match. The service was pretty good other than the drink mix up.More

We have always enjoyed going to Lake Park Bistro since it opened. However, our recent experience this past Saturday night may keep me from going there again...at least, during peak times. It was a Saturday night after New Year’s and every table was full...many 4-tops...expanded to seat 6 or 8. The noise in the dining rooms was deafening! Our party of three could not hear one another speak. Of course, service was very slow. We waited so long for a wine order that the server put it “on the house” because she realized how very long we had waited. (We had said nothing.) Food was fine...no complaints...but I do not think it is among the finest food you can find in Milwaukee. Prices are Top tier...service was polite and adequate, considering the crowd. However, from now on, I think I will avoid it at peak times. My overall feeling is they should look into some sound deafening! I don’t like to spend $300-400 on a dinner and have to keep reminding myself to not let the ambiance spoil my evening!More
