Went to Braise as part of a large group. They had a separate room for us, which allowed us to mingle and not disturb other guests. Brought out appetizers - various cheeses (all good), what I believe was a red pepper hummus dip, and pork buns (life changing). Our dinner was family style. Mushroom Risotto (again, life changing), beef brisket,... More

We began our meal with an amazingly tasty leek soup. The flavors burst in my mouth. So, so good. Yum. Roasted celery root salad, Piedmontese Red Hot, Curry Braised goat, Crispy scallion ricecake, and steamed pork buns is delicious. The wait staff is attentive, polite and willing to ecplain the menu well. We enjoyed our meal immensely.

Went w/friends before a show at the Milwaukee Rep, I had been there several times before but not w/i the last 9-12 months. It appears the owners has incorporated a little asian/mexican food truck flavoring, I like it when people experiment w//food especially when as here it works. We combined small plate and large. I ordered the tongue taco, esquites(a... More

I thought this might be too precious and pricey, but for our group of five, this turned out to be the perfect Saturday night location. The bar area is comfortable, with excellent cocktails, wine and beer, with no attitude whatsoever. The restaurant itself is well designed, just "rustic" enough but with an overall homey feel. The food was better than... More

I live in New York City, supposedly a culinary paradise. Well, let me tell you, the meal I had at Braise was as good as any I have had anywhere. I went with two friends and we shared a bottle of wine and maybe 8 or so small plates. The food was simply superb. There was maybe one dish I... More

I attended a private party on the second floor. All drinks were made using natural ingredients and boy, what a difference it makes. The food is either grown by the restaurant or outsourced from other area farms. I had a risotto that was flavorful and not overpowering as other risottos can be. For dessert, all I can say is O... We went to a farm dinner and this was not our first time. As usual the atmosphere was great. Wait staff was great but this time the food was not great. Barley salad was average. Lamb offal had unidentifiable bits in it. Flavor was far too earthy. Third course was ok but Armenian bread was hard and meat had an... More

Fantastic attentive service from knowlegable servers who were enthusiastic about their food and that really enhances the overall experience. Interesting, well thought out dishes served in small plate servings to pass. Innovative and very tasty. Overall great dining experience that all of us enjoyed.

Wed. night. Had reservations, but not really needed. Sat immediately. Service was OK, not spectacular, but available. 4 plates: 1. Steamed Pork Buns w/ Scallion Vinaigrette & Crushed Spicy Peanuts. Bit "doughy" but nice pork. 2. Pulled Pork w/ Masa-Corn Cake, Tomatillo Salsa & Red Cabbage Slaw: best of the night, very enjoyable. 3. The Humba under the small plates... More

The restaurant offers locally sourced fresh food all of which is uniquely prepared. Choose from appetizers, small plates or entrees, all of which are intriguing to one's individual palate. We sat at the "chef's" table where you have an opportunity to watch the food being prepared and to chat with the chef. Very fun to do! Everyone was gracious and... More
