This was a 40 minute drive for us and it did not disappoint! A neat place, upbeat, comfy and sophisticated and is well laid out for a rather small space! Great service from Michael as we started out with a red wine from Piedmont region...of Italy, excellent. We split the asparagus and proscuitto salad which was just ok, you do get a lot here on the salads. My entrée was sausage & mushrooms with penne in a vodka cream sauce, soooo good and hubby had the pasta with clams in a light tomato based sauce which he loved. The portions were perfect! The Tiramisu was especially light, different from most I had. The menu here makes it hard to decide because you want to try so many things which all sound delicious and are reasonably priced but do note that bread, soup or salad is not included. They do not take rsvp and it seems to fill up by 6:00, this was on a Saturday. We arrived at the opening time of 5:00 and were glad we did.More

Highly recommend the Rocket salad Duck Bacon Carbonara - perfectly cooked pasta with incredible flavors. Montepulciano D’Abruzzo was the perfect accompaniment Tiramisu was delicate and tasty. Very cool atmosphere and great service!

They had me at Gluten-free Garlic Bread! From the minute you walk in this place is warm and welcoming. Inside is cozy and romantic feeling and the enclosed patio has open windows (in the summer) which is where we choose to dine usually. The menu,...which is seasonal, has so many exquisite options to chose from but the Pollo Chicken is my go-to. Pollo chicken with sun-dried tomatoes, mixed mushrooms, broccoli, white-wine cream sauce, Parmesan cheese and pasta. They have GF penne pasta but you have to specify GF pasta. GF garlic bread with Fontina Cheese and Marinara sauce (all ordered separately and additional charge)are all just to die for. Then top this off with GF Chocolate Flourless Cake, which is more like a wedge of melt-in-your-mouth and not-too-sweet fudge accompanied by raspberry sorbet and the meal is just amazing! I was originally so blown away by the menu and the care given by the staff I had to ask. Yes, one of the owners has Celiac. You know you are in good hands here.More

Centro never seems to strike out from the small side street Italian restaurant they teleported from. The crew of artisan dish creators come in as native Milwaukee-ins and leave master craftsmen of Italian cuisine every night. Do not miss the opportunity to step into a...high end river west restaurant serving premiere dishes from all corners of the Mediterranean boot. Whether your on tour in Milwaukee or a native this is “ THE “spot to be.More

Coming here with dear friends is a wonderful tradition. We arrived quite early (as reservations are not accepted ?), & we extremely lucky to obtain the table for 4 right in the front window. The food was paced well, amazingly fresh & tasty (as usual),...& our waitress (I forgot her name...sorry!) was stellar. We will return soon.More

We go to Cafe Centro quite often. It has an intimate cozy environment and great personable staff. There are always specials and an extensive list of pizza options and amazing pasta dishes. We have several members of our family who are gluten free and it’s...the first place I’ve been that has gluten free garlic bread which is amazing. This review is based on our dinner last night. I alway stay with my tried and true pasta dishes. I’ve never been disappointed. This time I tried their Bolonaise sauce. It was the best I’ve ever had including my own. I highly recommend it. We can’t wait to go back!More

This is a really neat place, with bars in two levels, but still giving you a cozy atmosphere. The seafood risotto was delicious and the short ribs extremely tender. Will definitely be back!

We went here for a romantic dinner. the neighborhood itself can be iffy, but the restaurant is adorable. Service was great, food was delicious. We took cash because we were told it was cash only (not sure if it still is...). Highly recommend!

Centro Cafe, located on Center Street in Riverwest is a great date night dining destination and a fun dinner destination if you are visiting Milwaukee and want to experience the flavor of one of Milwaukee's most interesting and diverse neighborhoods. We love to have the...delicious Rocket salad for starters (though I have never had an appetizer there that I didn't like) followed by their melt-in-your-mouth Gnudi or fresh pasta specials. The have a full bar and their wine list is extensive. The service is excellent. But if you can, sit at the bar and watch the chefs at work. It is fascinating and fun! Afterward go either across the street to Company Brewing or down the block to the Jazz Gallery. Both have regular live music and some excellent Jazz.More

Met some classmates here. Yummy food. My dish - pesto pasta - could have handled a little more flavor. The shrimp in it was good. The flourless chocolate cake was perhaps the best I've ever had. We sat in the back. Nicer back there in...my estimation. Seems to be a popular place.More

Located in a low-key neighborhood, this simple restaurant is well designed, comfortable and inviting location for excellent Italian food and custom cocktails. Even though the menu leans towards being meat-centric, there were still options for my pescatarian dining preferences. The portions and prices are spot...on for the quality of ingredients and care of cooking. Reservations are not accepted so plan accordingly.More

This hidden gem consistently serves some of the best Italian food in Milwaukee. Jimmy and Esther provide personal, outstanding service. The wines are truly Italian with some really good selections.

Quaint place with excellent service. The scallop appetizer was recommended and absolutely amazing but very overpriced ... $16 for four scallops. The meatballs were uneventful and I would not feed those to my dog. My friend thoroughly enjoyed her risotto but neither of us had...any clams in the shells in our meals. The pasta I had was so bland I had to ask for hot peppers, salt and pepper and I could make the same at home… I was not impressed!More
