A tad pricey but good food. It’s named after the big log in the fireplace. A bit of a campfire smell. I recommend mashed potatoes. And the chocolate cake desert. It’s more than cake!

Very cool decor. Super helpful/friendly bartender. Great wings and home made chips with home made ranch dip. Super cheap and pours a good drink!

We were seated right away, by the look of the overly confusing menu we had high expectations. (Overall disappointed) Service was ok, not very attentive and slow. automatic added $75 tip for 6 people and confusing who got what. Drinks were pricey and slow to...come Appetizers: was told the avocado was good but small, the littlegem was a fantastic salad (although who knew it was a salad from the menu? ) the pea pods were ok, Main meals : ribeye was fantastically flavorful and cooked perfectly but not tender! Sides: again had to ask several questions here, mushrooms were a bowl of flavorless rubber!! Potatoes were very good. At the end the bill came combined for 6 people, even though I asked specifically to split it.. after confusion, overcharging, and $75 automatic tip!!!! Trying to charge us for the “free cake” for the birthday girls? And mixing up everything, we got it sorted out (long frustration of a process)More

Wow! I didn’t expect such a gourmet meal at a hotel restaurant. The bacon wrapped rabbit loin, grilled mushrooms, and grilled sweet potatoes with chimichurri sauce were not only tasty, they were fantastic! Quite delectable! I paired it with Otto's Constant Dream Sauvignon Blanc -...magnifique! My hat is off (literally) to the chef.More

We had previously eaten at the Smith at the Iron Horse, so wondered if the “new” establishment could rival the quality of the food and service. It did. We were seated near the hearth and staff indulged our every question about the preparation of food....Wait staff was excellent, and the food was wonderful. It was a great setting, and of course in our favorite hotel (we look forward to visiting every year).More

This rebranding of a cornerstone restaurant inside of the Iron Horse Hotel is far from a disappointment. Ash definitely lives up to it's hype. The ope flamed preparation of the dishes that you may order is quite the entertainment and experience but also taste just...as good as the process and presentation provides. The Bavette is awesome and as a hunter myself, I look for the quality of wild game such as rabbit and Ash did not disappoint. There was no taste of the wild with the rabbit and it was quite tender. The mashed potatoes were wonderful and I could have sat there all night and eaten those by themselves. It was a great experience and I will certainly go back and eat there more than once.More

One of the best brunches we had in a long time - simply amazing! It started off just right in that we were celebrating my mom’s 82nd birthday and I asked the hostess if we could sit just outside Ash in the booths in the...back of the lobby as I wanted a “quieter” table. No problem! Victoria took such good care of us - friendly, professional and great sense of humor with our table of 5. The food was absolutely fantastic - everyone raved about their dishes and finished them up happily even though the portions were very generous. The scrambled eggs and rabbit was mind-blowing, the B.E.L.T (bacon, egg, lettuce and tomato) sandwich was dreamy - thick cut bacon, ooey egg and umami mayo on fabulous sourdough - messy but so worth it! The ham Benedict was outstanding and had a tomato Bernaise sauce that was deliciously different. And the waffle with spiced apples and whipped cream was autumn on a plate - simply delicious! Bloody Mary’s were fantastic, coffee was strong and the bottomless mimosas were a big hit! Will definitely be back for their brunch again and we look forward to trying out Ash for dinner the next time we are in MKE.More

So glad Iron Horse has an excellent restaurant. Went to the newly revamped restaurant Ash last night. Very impressed. I had the Rabbit and my husband had the Pork collar. Both were cooked to perfection, and very tasty. The carrots and cauliflower also excellent. Not...sure what was in the beet tartare but had an excellent flavor. We will be back. Service and was also great.More
