I had never had Ramen and it was great. We did take out so I can't comment on the atmosphere. Great crab wontons too!

My 11 year old wanted real ramen for his birthday. We drove 45 minutes and got there and was super confused since we aren’t from the city. While in the car still I called and the bartender who answered the phone as so kind and...helpful. When we walked in we were warmly greeted and immediately shown a table. We ordered the deviled eggs and the tuna poke as appetizers. Both were incredible! Then we ordered our ramen. Both of my boys love spicy and they orders theirs at a level 2 with the spicy noodles. It was hot. They ate it but said it wasn’t as enjoyable as they hoped. (Totally on them for ordering it like that.) I ordered spice level 1 of the beef ramen and it was absolute perfection. We sat near the kitchen and saw most of the items coming out of the kitchen. All of it looked so good. We can’t wait to go back and try the rest of the menu.More
First time visit and can’t say anything special about it. Very low key atmosphere and very quite but it was a Tuesday night. The ramen bowl was good, the gyoza was average and the seaweed salad was not right. They did have some Asian TV...shows on their TVs which we’re interesting to watch. I may try another bowl if I return unless I find a better alternative.More
Twists in the ramen dishes made us crave for more … squid ink oil ramen, a total new experience – oh yeah! Loved it.
The appetizers, meal, and desserts were tasty, unique and staff was great while the price was reasonable. Very clean facility. What more can you ask for in a restaurant?
Artisan Ramen not only provides an eclectic experience in its restaurant, but diverse food options in its menu. We had the chance to visit this restaurant during our most recent visit to Milwaukee and were left more than satisfied. Even though the beef ramen was...amazing, I was more than surprised with the Japanese Popcorn Chicken. When I studied in Kyoto many years ago, I visited many little restaurants and ordered karaage. This plate brought back a lot of memories and it was great to try it as an appetizer. I also recommend their matcha (Japanese green tea) cheesecake as a dessert. Prices for food and drinks were extremely competitive and worth it. We highly recommend this place and will make sure to comeback in the near future.More
I grabbed a quick pre-lockdown lunch in March and was very well taken care of by Izzy. Although many menu items looked so intriguing but I wasn't super hungry so I went with the kid-size ramen bowl for $8 which was more than enough. The...flavors were fresh and interesting with a perfectly made miso. I really wanted to try the Japanese Curry. I am hoping that this restaurant will survive the hardships the pandemic has brought.More
Fun restaurant where you can build your own bowl or order off the menu. It was very tasty and filling..perfect for a cold snowy night. Definitely would go back.
First visit, but hardly last. Didn't even have the ramen yet. Wonderful GyuDon and the Japanese chicken curry, which is very different from Indian curries. Both very home and mother comfort food, and both very well done. Asked whether the owner/chef was Japanese and was...told no, but someone has definitely stolen Japanese gramma's recipes.More
It might have just been me. It was mu first time to try Ramen. I didn't like it, and there really isn't much else on the menu. I was really disappointed.
Soooooo good! I'd been craving real ramen for so long and I cannot tell you how happy I am that I've found this place! Cool look inside and great food!!
I went here for lunch with two friends. We had a couple appetizers (Devilish eggs and Japanese cauliflower). Both were excellent! For our entrees we had the udon stir fry, some with chicken and some with shrimp. Those were also fantastic. Our waitress was very...friendly and attentive. Her name was Caiwei. She did a great job. I would definitely return here again and will recommend this restaurant to family and friends.More
Our first time visiting Artisan Ramen was on a Thursday evening shortly after they reopen at 5PM. We did not have a reservation, and we were lucky we arrived when we did, because the restaurant filled up quickly by 6PM. We received excellent and friendly...service throughout dinner, and were especially impressed with this (thanks, Israel!) We started off with the Pork Gyoza for an appetizer. These were tasty, although the dumpling itself was a little thicker than usual, but I’m guessing this was because they are made in house. Both of us ordered ramen, which is build-your-own. We both did the Tonkotsu (Pork) broth, and I went for the Shoyu (Soy Sauce) base and Classic noodles, while my dining partner picked Miso base with Chili infused noodles. The noodle selection is nice; most ramen places don’t have so many noodle options, but again, this goes back to the in-house made ingredients. The Classic noodles were good, but I think I would try something else next time, maybe the Squid Ink. I preferred the Chili Infused to the classic, and I also liked the Miso base better than the Shoyu. We both did the Japanese Spice level 2, which wasn’t that spicy, so our server was happy to bring out a chili paste they make in-house for us to add – this really kicked things up a notch! Definitely spicy, and a nice added flavor. The pork was done well, and the add-ins were solid (more mushrooms and no cabbage please). I’ve never had broccoli in ramen before though and would have preferred something a little more traditional like bok choy. One thing that could be easily improved upon – the ramen didn’t come out piping hot like usual. It was warm, but it seemed like the broth had been hot and with the addition of cold ingredients, the whole dish ended up being just warm. Our experience at Artisan Ramen was pleasant. The great customer service we received had a big impact on our over-all impression. Even though the restaurant was full shortly after we got there, we wouldn’t have noticed as the level of service did not go down (thanks, Israel!). We purchased a Groupon to check out Artisan Ramen; this made things a little better price-wise, as the ramen was a little pricey compared to other ramen places. Happy hour deals are not encouraged to be used alongside a Groupon, which is a little disappointing. The ramen itself was tasty, although the noodles were not my favorite; they were a little too spaghetti-like and chewy (just in comparison to other ramen, not to say they were unpleasant). I would visit again to try one of the other noodle varieties, and hope for the ramen to be hotter when it was served.More
Our New Year's Eve dinner was terrific! Great venue, fast, friendly waitstaff, delicious food all around. We weren't sure why there was so much Star Wars decoration on the walls, why Baby Groot in a Christmas sweater was on the bar, but no matter! It...made our visit interesting and we loved watching the "live" stream of someone walking around Japan somewhere on the tv behind our table. We think it was Japan anyway, but it literally was someone walking up and down some streets, stopping to buy a drink from a vending machine, holding a camera out in front of them. Anyway, we ordered three appetizers and they all were delicious: Spicy Edamame, Vegetable Gyoza, and Agedashi Tofu - highly recommend them all. We were able to get vegan ramen here in a rich broth with just the right amount of spice and heat. We would all come here again and bring friends. I like a lot of ingredients in my ramen, so I wish they had more to choose from, but it was still very, very good. That's the only reason why I'm not giving it 5 stars Next time I'd like to try the Japanese Curry as I've never had one before. Oh, and one interesting fact our waitress told us when we ordered saki. She informed us when sake is heated, it's usually done so to hide the bad taste if it's a poor quality sake! We ordered ours cold. Super good! I had a Hibiscus Berry Lemonade which was supposedly had vodka in it, but I didn't taste any, and neither did my companion. All in all, this is a very, very good place to come to for ramen in Milwaukee.More
I've been wanting to try real ramen for quite some time and finally took my son in on a Groupon and we both really enjoyed it! It was a nice little atmosphere and the service was really friendly and eager to serve! I talked my...son into getting the squid ink and we were apprehensive at 1st, so the waitress brought a few out to us to try first, which was really cool of her, she was quite a dear! The pork dumplings were totally awesome! The ramen bowl was huge and you will definitely get full on! I got the pork ad there was 4 pieces of meat in it, which was more than enough, I actually thought that I ate all of the meat and was digging for noodles and came up with another pork slice! They also had maccha cheesecake which was superb! I will definitely return, maybe not for the ramen as that doesn't seem to be my thing, but for apps and desert for sure!More
