We just got back from Midwest Gaming Classic in Milwaukee and ate here both nights, as it was attached to our hotel. Both nights we were waited on by David M and he is a blast! The turkey, pulled pork, and sausage links are awesome...as well as the extensive beer selection. Can't wait for next year's MGC!More

Great beer selection with a lot of options for you. They just reopened fully and have a lot of people in town for NCAA tournament. Service was quick and not delayed. Two of us were in and out in an hour

ompletely recommend Doc’s Smokehouse! Fantastic food, GREAT service, bar, and management made our visit perfect. Tons of beer to choose from, but I was more than happy to enjoy a PBR tall boy. All of the meats were smoked to perfection, and the sides, all...of which are homemade, were incredible. Throw in a slice of peanut butter pie and it was pretty much a perfect meal. Shout out to our server, and though his name escapes me, he owns a stellar Rollie Fingers type of mustache and did a great job. Had a chance to speak with a manager, Emily, who was terrific as well. Best wishes to ownership, management, and staff on a successful future in the great city of Milwaukee.More

Great spot with a great bar, many bourbons and whiskeys that I have not seen elsewhere. Brisket, pig wings terrific, and they have bumped-up their side offerings. Can't wait to go back.

As a southerner visiting Wisconsin I admit to some skepticism seeing this upscale BBQ restaurant on a nice corner in Milwaukee. And upscale it is. The bar is very nice and a wide selection of very good “brown liquor” of all sorts is evident. There...are dozens of beer taps and a number of bottled beers are available. Good menu of the greatest BBQ hits. Pulled pork and brisket was moist and tasty. Not South Carolina or Texas good but good (anyway, they are emulating Alabama que) Sides and apps we tried were chips, baked beans, fried pickles and Bama fries. All good. Fried pickles were great with a nice sauce. The sauces were tasty but seeing the SC flag on a bottle of vinegar sauce was a bit of an error.More

1st off 64 beers on tap is pretty cool and depending on what you order you can get an decent meal. I had the lean brisket sandwich, fries and a side of ribs. The brisket was tender, smoky and really good, the fries were also...tasty however the ribs were a huge disappointment being extremely tough and lacking flavor. My wife had the pulled pork sandwich, fries and a side of ribs, she agreed with me on the ribs and when it came to the pulled pork she said it had a good smoke flavor but was extremely dry. We thought maybe it was the bun as those appeared to soak up any & all sauce you would put on so maybe any meat juice was also disappearing. She pulled the pork off the bun and said it was still dry. Overall it was a hit and miss dinner which is disappointing considering the price point.More

Pretty much pure bar bq in a rustic setting. Beers cold, food surprisingly good for a limited menu, atmosphere is what you’d suspect. Service good, not great, prices reasonable

I had the pulled pork sandwich with the house chips. The pulled pork was moist, tender and flavorful. I liked the spicy Texas heat sauce. The house chips? I could’ve done without they were not very good not quite sure what it is about them...other than that they just didn’t taste good. Long list of beers 50+. 🍺 Reasonable priced. The service was very good. I would come back. Walking distance from many downtown hotels.More

Staying in the Springhill Suites next door. Went in to Docs for takeout. Told server I’d wait at the bar. 20 minutes later I ask where the order is and they pull it out of a warmer. They want tips for takeout but can’t even...be bothered to tell you that your order is ready. Took the food up to the room, discovered a salad missing. Went back for the salad, back to the room and discovered the sandwiches were dry, no BBQ sauce. Back to Docs for the third time to complain and the manger explains why they don’t put sauce on takeout sandwiches. Maybe folks in Milwaukee prefer dry BBQ. Apparently the concept of “on the side” eludes him, but he did fill some containers with sauce and give them to me. The food is average BBQ. The service is amateur hour. Averaging those gets them 2 stars.More

We had a wonderful dinner at Doc’s recently. The ribs and pulled pork were great, with lots of sauce options on the table. You have to try the fried pickles! Even the coleslaw has excellent flavor, as did the house chips. Good service too! And...if you like beer, this is your place with 64 to choose from. Enjoy!More

These ribs are special and DOC'S is the best barbecue I have experienced in Wisconsin. We also tasted some Usinger sausage that had just the right amount of heat.

We had a great dinner here! Portion sizes were great and the food was delicious! Several in our party had the burnt ends and I had the P.I.G. which was 2 spareribs, pulled pork, and some sausage and 2 sides. I had the Alabama beans...and Mac and cheese. It was all perfect. Both the host and our waiter were fantastic. I will be back for more!More
