We wanted to check out the area after visiting UWM and need to get some good food in our bellies. Happened upon Bel-Air and was a great find. Chips and salsa arrived at our table and the waiter explained the menu and we both chose...3 different soft shell tacos with rice and beans. Nice flavor. We arrived shortly after they opened, so a bit quiet, which was great. Would return.More

I enjoy the variety of food offered, though it’s definitely a hipster version of Mexican food. Each table gets chips & three different salsas, and they will refill the chips. The chorizo is one of my favorite things on the menu, and the side of...rice comes with a plantain on top which is a yummy bonus. The service was not great, and it seemed that they were negotiating who might take our table. Won’t stop my from coming back though, they make a great Topo Chico Paloma!More

Tried two taco's. One was a Breakfast Taco, Chori Papa. It was made with Chorizo Sausage, potato, Queso, pico and Cheddar Cheese. The other was Baja Tilapia. The fish was breaded, fried and served with Citrus Slaw and Avacado SalsaThey were both excellent. I would...order both again. It was a late lunch so very few customers. The food took a while, but the chips and salsa served was very good so I was okay with the wait, it was around 15-20 minutes before I was served. In the the meantime, staff was cleaning around me. Not my favorite thing to observe. The restaurant is worn, could use a facelift with more comfortable seating. They had several booths when you walked in that looked comfortable but were for large parties and I was alone so didn't want to take a space that they could have used for more people.More

Had an unexpected situation in which we were in the area on a Tuesday afternoon for a co-workers funeral. Family invited our large group for lunch at the church, but there clearly was not enough seating or food so we left it for family to...enjoy. One member of our group went to Bel Aire to see if there was any way they could accommodate a large group, "Yes, 20 minutes." We waited longer but no big deal but while waiting we weren't asked if we wanted drinks and had to flag bartender down ourselves. Our waiter rocked it with our large group and food was delicious, but to keep it simple we still went to the bar for drinks. We had to write down what we wanted, ok, and when one in our group apologized for any confusion, she got - with an attitude, "We didn't expect a group of 20!" Um think you need to be ready for anything, you said you could accommodate us, and we were very laid back because it, knowingly, was a lot....and for me it took nothing to crack open a Miller Lite.More

We love this place. Normally we stick to tacos but last night I got a burrito bowl. It was sooooo good. Also has a bloody and was pleasantly surprised how good it was. We have never had bad food and the service is always great.

I have eaten lunch at this location twice and once at another location. I have enjoyed it every time. This location also offers outdoor seating which is fun for people watching. Interesting choices with multi-cultural approach to Mexican cuisine. Upbeat atmosphere and good service.

We used to love Bel Air but we dined at the Downer location last night and it was just awful. Pros: Host greeted us right away but tried to seat us at the worst table in the restuarant (closest to the kitchen) even though many...others were open. We moved. Our waitress The guacamole was delicous, chips were a bit stale and the black bean salsa was the only one we enjoyed. I ordered a Patron drink and it was not served as a full cocktail and was overloaded with ice. My shrimp bowl was horrible. It was over 90% rice and so bland. I finished about 10% of it. The pinto beans were nasty and the rice was way too sticky. This place used to be great but no longer.More

Belair is really a chip off the old block of tacos in Mexico. They have a wide variety, and their tacos are really good. They also have a nice Spanish lesson audio in the bathroom, so you have been warned (It scared me out of...my shoes when I first heard it and wasn't expecting to hear someone's voice in the single stall bathroom!) This restaurant is also very family friendly and they have a gluten free menu! The atmosphere is great, with unique decor and a great vibe.More

Bel Air is a great spot for tacos, nachos, a giant burrito or just some margs, beer and chips. They are always friendly, have great outdoor seating, and often easiest to sit at bar, watch sports and get fed.
