We have been coming here for years and are so happy they continue to serve the community safely during this Covid time. It is nice to eat outside if the weather is good but we did eat inside the other day and the tables were...well spaced. We also do a lot of take out pizza. We love the Lumani and Bolognese pizzas. We treated ourselves to pasta last time we were here and the Bolognese pasta was tremendous and large. I had enough for lunch the next day! We also love the Aplonia salad and split the side salad size. Gelato flavors are always a good way to end our meal. Always great service from this family owned restaurant!More

Villa Dolce is a charming, family operated restaurant in an old house with a front porch in downtown Middleton. The pizza, desserts, gelato, and pasta are out of this world. They have many unique entrees. The Pear Gorgonzola pizza and Creme Brulee are out of...this world. In good weather, the outdoor seating is wonderful, and indoors is great as well. Please support this great restaurant with outstanding food and service.More

Villa Dolce is open! Same hours, same great menu, but of course take-out only during the state wide ban on table and bar service. Full kitchen staff serving gourmet pizza, calzones and full menu including the best pasta in Madison. Try the many seafood entrees...paired with pasta and fresh herbs and vegetables. My favorite shrimp and scallops with linguini in a white cream sauce or the the many steak entrees. Local family owned, managed and served by two generations. Support this unique Middleton restaurant.More

I picked up a sausage, pepperoni and mushroom pizza from Villa Dolce and found perfection. Liking traditional pizza, this one has a tender and tasty crust, a good balance of ingredients, the right amount of sauce and great taste. This was clearly made fresh.

This is a great little restaurant that serves excellent pizza. However, it is way more than a pizza restaurant. Their pastas and other entries are great. Sauces are outstanding. The restaurant is not large but even so there are small separate dining areas that give...it a private feel. There is also a small area outside that is open in Summer. Entrees are not huge, so add an appetizer or salad. The bar area is very small and not one to go to or spend time at for pre meal cocktails. Probably the only negative I can mention. Maybe have your cocktail at one of the other drinking establishments downtown before heading off to your meal. They also have gelato to goMore

While visiting Wisconsin, we ate a ton of really great food and Villa Dolce was our last dinner stop. While we thought the food was tasty, the portions were pretty small considering the price. For example, my seafood entree was $30, but it only had...2-3 small scallops, 2 grilled shrimp, and a very small section of salmon. Even with a side of fries and the appetizer I ordered, I wasn't very full. But at least we all enjoyed our food. Until dessert. I ordered a slice of the Princess Torte, which had looked so cute in the display case we passed on our way to our seats. It was pretty lackluster, though. It was a layer cake, but was mostly just a lot of frosting with a marzipan exterior. The raspberry jam was barely fruity, and the cake layer was so thin it was almost invisible between around 4 layers of frosting. Under the marzipan, it was basically all frosting. And $9 for a slice! I'm not usually one to complain about prices on things (after all, I ordered it with full knowledge of the price), but I was hoping for something more for that price! I had zero interest in finishing my slice. My husband got the tiramisu and was even more disappointed. It came in a little cup and had clearly been sitting around for a long time because the lady fingers had gone beyond soggy and turned to mush at the bottom. For a place that sells itself as an upscale option around town, they really need to raise their standards. Overall, it was a decent experience, but if we went back, I'd probably skip dessert. Although, they do have a good selection of gelato, which probably would have been good (hard to mess up?).More

We very much enjoyed our smoked salmon and delicious calamari on the porch. There is also seating outside on the sidewalk on two sides. There are many small rooms inside. It is noisy so be prepared. Our friends had pizza and it was very good....We ended the evening with gelato and it was excellent. They always have a good variety of desserts. Very good option if in the area. Strongly recommend.More

Recently dined here and found the menu to be beautifully varied with a delicious Bolognese. The staff are friendly and the restaurant is small but welcoming. The tiramisu was delicious as was the Bolognese. I did see a pizza go by and it looked really...good! Haha!More

As residents of the area, my wife and I frequent Villa Dolce for evening gelato. Delicious every time in a dish or cone. Great variety that changes regularly. However, last Saturday we decided to dine in and enjoy some of the Italian dishes. Though the...pizza looked tempting, we opted for pasta. My wife had pasta farfalle featuring tricolor bowtie pasta with asparagus, peas, and mushrooms with a lemon cream sauce. Excellent! I had mushroom-stuffed ravioli with cream sauce and an add-on of lamb sausage. Delicious! A side Caesar salad rounded out our meals as did a nice bottle of French rose and, of course, a shared helping of gelato. Unlike the to-go gelato at Villa Dolce, in- restaurant gelato comes in a fluted glass featuring three scoops of flavors of one's choice, whipped cream, fruit, and wafer cookies. Amazing! Our first Villa Dolce full dining experience did not disappoint. This eatery is a must when visiting Downtown Middleton.More

We stayed in Middleton to celebrate a family birthday. We had a group of 10, ranging in age from 73 to 5. The staff was able to make everyone happy. The star of the night, however, was the food . The dishes were inspired and...enjoyed by all. A tip, try the gelato, they had 14 flavors and my favorite was the lime.More
