Wonderful chocolates, nuts, ice cream, and treats of every kind! Make sure to stop at Beerntsen's when visiting Manitowoc. The homemade chocolate is wonderful - we love the Smidgens - small chocolates filled with peanut butter or caramel or mint...excellent. The caramel corn is a real treat - the best I've ever had - and the chocolate covered pretzels are... More

We had a late lunch here. SOOO yummy! The tomato bisque & 'adult' grilled cheese were excellent! So nice to get a cup of soup & half a sandwich. Just the right amount ... with room for a sundae afterwards. Both kids (and one is PICKY) loved their lunch too. VERY sweet waitress. Oh, and the building is beautiful &... More

Beerntsen's is a locally owned candy shop. Many of the candies and truffles are handmade, and the quality shows. (Commercially purchased candies are also available - when in doubt, the sales people can let you know if something is handmade for the store.) There is also a small cafe in the back. While they do serve sandwiches, I always seem... More

We stopped by this little shop on a fishing trip last year. It was absolutely adorable and had wonderful chocolate! They had a great assortment and something for everyone!

This is a great candy store and creamery. They make ALL of their ice cream. Roast their nuts and make delicious candy. The decor is original from the 1930's. Just a really nice place to have a delicious ice cream sundae and buy some incredible candy.

Large variety of delicious candies and chocolates including truffles (my favorite), ice cream, shakes, and very good soups and sandwiches. We stop there every time we are in Manitowoc.

We enjoyed a delicious ice cream sundae in the 1930's decor. All homemade and fabulous. The staff was friendly and helpful.

They make their own candy. Ice cream creations are tummy. Have not done lunch but they do have a limited menu.

I love this spot! I've only been to Manitowoc a handful of times, but I make sure I visit Beerntsen's every time. My grandparents owned a creamery in San Francisco in the 1950's, and although I've only seen pictures, Beerntsen's reminds me of their parlor. It's cozy, cute and quaint. The service is as wonderful as the food. Great sandwiches... More
