All sundaes are the same price, regardless of how many toppings you request, because they have to fit into an old fashioned tulip-shaped sundae dish. Our waitress was helpful, friendly, and cheerful. My pretzel salted caramel sundae was as delicious as it was unusual, and my husband enjoyed his hot fudge sundae with caramel. To be honest, we overshadowed the... More

Always excellent service, good food, and the chocolate selection is superb! Small, old-fashioned shop is like going back in time - beautiful old woodwork and glass cases!

It is worth the trip to check out the beautiful interior. They have a mid cost sandwich place in the back. The candies we chose were disappointing. We should have opted for the plain chocolates.

Worth a stop. The chocolate was high quality with both the milk and dark chocolate smooth and tasty. Their caramel was too hard and chewy for our taste. Mint meltaways and chocolate covered toffee were excellent. We didn't eat there but they had a quaint dining area with customers seemingly happy to be there. Candy area was small and crunched... Myself & my 2 boys ate in the booths, the sundaes were so good and the server was super efficient and sweet. Afterwards, we bought a pile of chocolates, pecans and other candies...so good. The atmosphere is really quaint, a step back in time and very nice. Try the turtle sundae, it was fantastic!!!!!

In Milwaukee, we used to have a chocolate/sandwich/sundae shop called The Chocolate Factory and this Beerntsen's reminds me of it. Thank you for the memories. Love the iced cappuccino and any type of soup is great here, must try fountain drinks and ice cream.

Feels like your back in the day of soda shops. Beautiful architecture. Original wood booths and all the candy you could want. AND they have a Sundae menu that explains what each Sundae is. Good luck choosing!!!

Beerntsen's neon sign and awning do beacon but go for a sundae and skip the sandwiches and soup. The chocolates are pretty to look at but the nuts were stale.

Wonderful chocolates, nuts, ice cream, and treats of every kind! Make sure to stop at Beerntsen's when visiting Manitowoc. The homemade chocolate is wonderful - we love the Smidgens - small chocolates filled with peanut butter or caramel or mint...excellent. The caramel corn is a real treat - the best I've ever had - and the chocolate covered pretzels are... More
