All reviews walleye ribs creme brulee cheese curds salmon rice the hungarian mushroom soup north woods trout river cream sauce worth the minute drive wait for a table beautiful view delicious food lovely bar i've eaten friday night
This is a beautiful pine-panelled lodge set back in the woods with huge windows overlooking a small bay on the south end of Lake Manitowish. You can boat or drive in. We have been there twice now, and can't give higher marks. Both times, the...owner has been the host and "wine steward," and he'll swing by your table about 3 times during the meal to check in. And since reasonably well-dressed (business casual) middle-aged folk are somewhat of a rarity in Northern Wisconsin, he correctly guessed it was our anniversary celebration. The service is fast, attentive, and friendly, and the food is excellent (we've had both fish and steak items). It's usually full, so best to try to get a reservation, but they do keep a good number of tables set aside for walk-ins, though expect to wait an hour in the bar at peak times. As for us, we will be back.More

We love your "consistency" comment as Aberdeen works hard to achieve this! Blake has developed his Aberdeen family that strives to take care of every family that enters our beautiful Northwoods establishment...Thank you for sharing your thoughts, Larry
Not wanting to do any flying yet because of COVID, we decided to return to Manitowish Waters for a fall vacation.
The fall view from the Aberdeen's windows was so beautiful. My husband and I ordered a take out dinner of Blackened Salmon Teriyaki and...it was outstanding. The next day we had our son and grandchildren with us and since we had enjoyed our salmon takeout the night before, we ordered it again. All of us enjoyed our dinners. The atmosphere of the Aberdeen is so "Up North" and rustic. We look forward to returning next fall.More

Excellent food and service in a charming Northwoods setting. We try to eat here at least once a month throughout the year. Reservations are important; although there’s a lovely bar to sit and wait for a table. They can accommodate large groups.

Many thanks for sharing your numerous experiences at Aberdeen with others, it's appreciated! While groups are definitely a challenge during a pandemic, we strive to make dining a positive experience for those guests assembling as a group. We're looking forward to your next visit! Larry
stayed at a cabin nearby, and carried-out fish on a Friday night. Our dinner was good - decent portions sizes for the $ we paid. Dining room was busy, with long wait times - always a good sign. The view of the Trout River is...outstanding.More

A beautiful setting for dinner in the northwoods. Larry greeted and seated us and Emily was our server. Both were incredibly professional and hospitable. We felt "at home" as soon as we walked in. We started with a couple of generously poured old fashions. The...Hungarian mushroom soup was excellent. My wife's ribs were some of the best she ever had. I had the blackened walleye over rice smothered in a well-spiced Cajun crawfish cream sauce. It was honestly one of the best things I've eaten in years. Topped it off with a shared creme brulee. All of that, plus a couple of glasses of red wine for $90. We will be back.More

We come only by boat - there is not dock but it's worth the effort. This year we only had the cheese curds, walleye fries, drinks and multiple other great appetizers made into a meal. Excellent bar tender and service staff.More

Our bay off the Trout River is part of the Wisconsin State Forest so docks and signage are not permitted. It does have a soft shore so boats just pull up and tie off. Thank you for sharing your water excursion with us and we...More
The place is super quaint and clean with an amazing lakeside view! Had a nice big bar area set away from dining tables which is always a plus. The staff were super friendly and the food was incredible. DON'T EVER TAKE THE SPANISH PORK OFF...THE MENU; the flavor was phenomenal and the pork just melted in your mouth. It was one of the best entrees I've ever had and I can't wait to get it again when we come back! SO good.More
