We stumbled onto this gem while searching for a spot that wasn’t overrun with motorcycles during the rally weekend. Our dining experience was perfect, the food expertly prepared and the entire staff, especially our waitress was conscientious. The building itself is a beautiful lodge with a huge stone fireplace dominating one entire wall. We were so happy to have found Aberdeen’s!

We come only by boat - there is not dock but it's worth the effort. This year we only had the cheese curds, walleye fries, drinks and multiple other great appetizers made into a meal. Excellent bar tender and service staff.

Our bay off the Trout River is part of the Wisconsin State Forest so docks and signage are not permitted. It does have a soft shore so boats just pull up and tie off. Thank you for sharing your water excursion with us and we look forward to your next visit! Regards, Larry

A beautiful setting for dinner in the northwoods. Larry greeted and seated us and Emily was our server. Both were incredibly professional and hospitable. We felt "at home" as soon as we walked in. We started with a couple of generously poured old fashions. The Hungarian mushroom soup was excellent. My wife's ribs were some of the best she ever had. I had the blackened walleye over rice smothered in a well-spiced Cajun crawfish cream sauce. It was honestly one of the best things I've eaten in years. Topped it off with a shared creme brulee. All of that, plus a couple of glasses of red wine for $90. We will be back.

As a group of 5, we ordered 3 different "Friday fish fry" options and ALL were amazing!! The fried cod with french fries, the baked cod with rice, and the nightly special of pan-fried walleye with queso and tomatoes over Spanish rice. We all said it was the best we have ever had, and we've had a lot. The only thing we cannot comment on was the cole slaw because we substituted the daily fresh vegetable (green beans) for that. If you are in the area, check them out. Excellent service, great food, and great atmosphere!

As a local, I'm a bit embarrassed to admit I've only been here twice. The atmosphere, quality, and taste of food for the cost it is now my favorite restaurant to go to for special events, or for dinner with special people. Love it. The shrimp nachos are delicious ( a hint of sweetness), salmon delectable and filling, and desserts to be shared (one us easily for 2 or more). Absolutely wonderful!

Always spot on service by the owner, bartender, and wait staff. Food is delicious (especially the walleye special). Gorgeous setting, and comfortable atmosphere. Everyone feels like family here!

I can't say enough positive comments on our experience at Aberdeen! First of all, the location is nestled away in the woods overlooking the lake, inside the atmosphere is warm and inviting and cozy, great décor, then the owner , Larry, goes above and beyond to make you feel right at home! It was our 30th anniversary and I requested a table by the window and he gave us 2 options! So friendly and kind! The bartender, Dana, is amazing and makes a delicious bourbon old fashioned! She gave us options on how to order the perfect one! Fabulous! Our server, Belle, was wonderful! She was patient and personable and attentive , just the right amount. THEN... the food was out of this world and the price for what you get, is amazing! We will be going there every time we go to Northwoods! A 30th anniversary we will never forget! Thank YOU all!

The food was good and sitting on the porch overlooking the lake was great. It was also my second night in Wisconsin, so I tried the cheese curds and they were wonderful. The only downside was that at one point the waitress forgot to bring us our drinks, but she was apologetic about it.

Beautiful Up North winter setting, warm and inviting. The Ahi tuna salad was excellent, and the Hungarian mushroom soup was delicious. Not far from the Minocqua area, definitely worth the 20 minute drive. Looking forward to returning in the summer, but I’m sure we’ll need a reservation.

Thank you for sharing your experience at Aberdeen Restaurant & Bar! Reservations are always recommended, especially during our busy Friday and Saturday night hours. We do accept walk-in guests but you can expect to wait a bit in our beautiful Northwoods bar.

Excellent food and service in a charming Northwoods setting. We try to eat here at least once a month throughout the year. Reservations are important; although there’s a lovely bar to sit and wait for a table. They can accommodate large groups.

Great night out. Food was excellent. Ribs probably the best ever. Crazy amount of meat very little fat and not greasy. It says 1/2 slab but the thickness made meat equivalent to full slab Filet outstanding. Prices in line and what I would expect unlike a few places up north that have gotten pricey. Apps: Curds good. Walleye fingers good not great.. Husband had walleye special that he really enjoyed. Soups both very good. . Chicken soul special ( Mexican flavor ) and mushroom soup was delicious! Service great. Ambiance was excellent. Northwoods but a bit fancier. It’s a lithe off 51 and u drive thru woods 1/2 mile to get to restaurant. Neat little drive. On water and we arrived at sunset and it made our night. Will be back for sure! Walked in at 8 without reservation ( at 5 they said were full ) but got right in

I had the privilege to dine at Aberdeen this past Wednesday night. You enter on a long, winding road adorned with beautiful fall colors.Â
We were greeted by Larry, the owner, We arrived early so we could have a drink at the bar. The bartender was great, the view beautiful and the other customers were very friendly.Â
Larry came and got us at our designated dining time and seated us at a fabulous table overlooking the water. The rustic vibe in the restaurant made for a very enjoyable experience.Â
Our server, Sarah, was efficient, knowledgeable and engaging. Our entrees were the Honey glazed salmon and the Walleye etouffee, both were outstanding.Â
I highly recommend a trip to Aberdeen. You won't be disappointed. I can't wait to return.Â

Not wanting to do any flying yet because of COVID, we decided to return to Manitowish Waters for a fall vacation.
The fall view from the Aberdeen's windows was so beautiful. My husband and I ordered a take out dinner of Blackened Salmon Teriyaki and it was outstanding. The next day we had our son and grandchildren with us and since we had enjoyed our salmon takeout the night before, we ordered it again. All of us enjoyed our dinners. The atmosphere of the Aberdeen is so "Up North" and rustic. We look forward to returning next fall.

stayed at a cabin nearby, and carried-out fish on a Friday night. Our dinner was good - decent portions sizes for the $ we paid. Dining room was busy, with long wait times - always a good sign. The view of the Trout River is outstanding.

With "Carry-Out Food" becoming more desirable in today's normal, you are the first review of this growing segment of our business. While it's a challenge to provide the ambiance and true dining experience, it does allow for more people to enjoy the traditions of Aberdeen Fish Fry!

Saw Aberdeen advertised with photos. It looked so impressive. We decided to take a ride to the restaurant. It did not disappoint. Beautiful restaurant with Northwoods feel. Huge, two story window overlooking the lake. Dana, the bartender greeted us. Very friendly and enjoyed our conversation with her. She made a great old fashioned! Izzy, our waitress was also very attentive and pleasant. My husband had the Bourbon Shrimp and I had the Spanish Pork. Both were OUTSTANDING! Our compliments to the chef! Highly recommended by us. We will be back!!!!!
