Surprised this place has so many good reviews. The ambiance was not great and the food was downright bad. We were not welcomed when we arrived for quite some time and the back of the dining room looks dingy. The only thing that was decent...was the drinks. My steak sandwich was very fatty and burnt. I could not eat it so instead i had fries for lunch. Burgers were slightly better but also burnt. Wish i had a better experience since we have a place nearby and we’re always looking for places to eat.More

The price of our Patty Melt was $9.99 and listed on the menu as $8.59 and now see that online menu lists this sandwich as $6.59. Did not see the error until we left. Maybe it was because we were in an RV???? Sandwich was...OK.More

5 of us with 4 having the Friday fish fry. Flaky fish with a good tasting crust. I had the homemade chips that were crispy and lightly salted

Fast friendly service. My wife & I went there for pizza today. We compare all pizza to Sammy's pizza in Duluth MINN. This pizza would give them a run for their money. For dessert order the lava cake, best we have ever had. We will...definitely be coming back.More

Bartender very friendly as was wait staff. Unfortunately the food wasn’t very good. Husband order the special..broasted chicken and ribs...the ribs looked as if they were boiled in water and bbq sauce slapped on top...nasty. Chicken was decent. I had the pizza...always a good choice...here...nice thin crust, ample toppingsMore

From the moment we walked in it was bad! The hostess/ server was the rudest person I have met, practically throwing dishes at the table. Not the worst pizza I've ever had but certainly not very good.

Asked if it was all you can eat Friday fish fry was told yes and then after ordering second order was told it actually isn't all you can eat so we said we didn't want any more extra and when bill came got charged $4...for the extra pieces. When paying we asked if it could be taken off and she went to ask first the bartender and she said no why are we worried about $4 and was talking to another customer about our situation. Was told to ask owner and owner came to us and said it was only $4 and they have never had all you can eat fish fry. We have been there more than once and a year ago we had the all you can eat fish fry. Not that $4 was alot for us, it's the principal of being told yes and then the attitude that it's only $4. If it's only $4 for us what's $4 to them? Hopefully, new management will bring it back to the good high quality it used to be. At this point Culver's fish is a much better qualityMore

This was the first time that my wife has been with me at the Rustic. Usually, its me alone when up for a Muskie tournament and in need of a place for socializing instead of sitting alone stir-crazy in a cabin so it was something...really special to have her there with me even though we were only in town for two nights on a research project. The previous night we ate at the Little Bo and I had what allegedly was walleye for $24 - that constituted one piece of fish 6 inches by 3 inches and sides. This night, I had Rustic's fish sampler which had 3 pieces of perch, 2 large piece of walleye, 2 pieces of haddock, and 1 deep fried shrimp(which made me chuckle given the nature of its company) and there was no question of what species these pieces of fried fish were - plus sides - $18.99 - perfectly done. You can get a full pound of just walleye in a dinner for the same money - a full pound of the best eating fish in freshwater plus sides!! Not one piece of fish. Where the Pea Patch caters to a younger set, and the Howling Dog to more working men, Teresa Unbach's RR caters to a more mature crowd, a lot of locals, many with vacation homes in the area, and visitors who have been visiting for ages, like us. Come in, get a beer, and in a half hour you'll be part of the community of conversation. This is why I like the place, and respect the gal who owns and runs it having overcome personal tragedy to create a new life - but she's still not a grandmother, yet - so she tells me. We had a couple drinks after dinner and my only regret was that the Packer's weren't playing on TV - which is when the place really perks and bubbles!! Good food, good brew, good company - now that's a good memory.More

We were up in Wisconsin biking and kayaking and stopped here for lunch. Food was reasonably priced and very good. The owner waited on us - she is delightful to talk to. We had the walleye and prime rib sandwiches. Both sandwiches were huge and...delicious. Restaurant is well kept and cute.More

My family had pizza here for dinner on a Saturday night. They had gluten-free pizza which is nice to find in northern Wisconsin. My daughter had the GF pizza & my wife & I had the regular pizza. The pizza was OK. Other items on...the menu looked overpriced since the dining room was pretty basic. If I'm paying $25-30 an entrée, I'd want nicer surroundings. I don't think I'd eat here again.More
