Had dinner here one evening on our trip. View was very nice but food not so much. I had the chicken piccata but could not finish it because it was way too salty. My husband had the wedge salad which was delicious and the seabass, not so much. Sauce was just too overpowering for the delicious seabass. Had strawberry shortcake for dessert. Could not put fork through shortcake!! Waitress did not even ask us how our dinner was. Just disappointed in restaurant. Could be much better.

We went later in the evening in early March and it was not terribly crowded. Our waitress was attentive and funny. The wine list was improved over what it was when I was there last June. We were able to split a meal (it was late and too much food can be overwhelming). We had the salmon and the dish was great except for too much risotto. I had a Brandy Alexander for dessert, which was pretty good but lacked the required nutmeg. We were off in a corner so you could carry on a conversation without having to write notes or yell. The food has improved over a couple of years ago, which is to The Grandview's credit. I have recommended this restaurant to friends.

Beautiful location overlooking the lake. Friendly staff practicing good mask and social distancing discipline. Seating was prompt and the tables were set iaw social distancing protocols. The server was excellent. Some blackberries from her garden were used in the dessert! We enjoyed our dinners so much we're talking about returning in the fall for our wedding anniversary. In additon, we ran through our memory of favorites of all the places we've dined - covering Europe, China, and Australia - and we agreed the Grandview is among the top five!. We enjoyed the peaceful ambiance.

I remember coming here in the 90’s when they first opened….not much has changed….when you walk in it’s like it was 30 years ago….same old dark tables and chairs that are so soft you can’t get out of them. We started with the cheese plate….emphasis on plate….huge blocks of cheese served on a huge white plate….I mean it was enough cheese for like 4-5 people…I know they probably want you to think you are getting your money’s worth, but if you ate it all you would not have room for the entree. I had the filet which was actually pretty good, but the sides were horrible, these weird long mushrooms and fried onions…..ok….my husband had the pork chop which was pretty good and a decent portion but the side, I don’t even know what it was….pitiful. Very stingy wine pours by the glass, a serving should be at least 6oz. mine could not have been more than 4. And it cost $14. We also had an old fashioned which had no alcohol in it. Prices are very expensive, but I guess at a place like this you are paying for the view. Service was super slow and the person never really checked on us much. I also felt very young as we were the youngest people by like 30 years. I will not be coming back

Thank you for your review. Your feedback is helpful in creating better experiences for our guests. We are always looking for ways to renovate and upgrade our restaurant, including a full floor-to-ceiling remodel that took place in 2017, and have replaced furniture every few years. We aim to provide every guest with an amazing experience and exceptional food, and pride ourselves on our outstanding service, so to hear you were disappointed with your visit is very saddening. We wish you luck with your future dining experiences.

I shall be brief.
We were provided the worst possible table in the house at the top of a flight of stairs and the food was expensive but about as bland as it gets.
I cannot recommend going here. Lake Geneva has a vast selection of made to high end restaurants suitable for dinner that are sure to provide a higher quality dinning experience.
We will spare the grim details as this was our first visit and perhaps they had an off night. But we will not recommend or return.

A lovely anniversary card was waiting for us when we were seated at our table overlooking the lake. My husband loved his weiner schnitzel (veal) with red cabbage, spaetzle and brussels sprouts and a Geneva Wedge Salad of
Iceberg Lettuce, Apple-wood smoked Bacon, Heirloom Tomato, Bleu Cheese, Balsamic Reduction, and Bleu Cheese Dressing.
I enjoyed the Statler Chicken, with thyme, fried sage, wild mushrooms in a chardonnay sauce over a bed of pancenta polenta. I had never had polenta before, and found it to be unique and delicious.
We had excellent service from Terri, who surprised us with a special, complementary anniversary dessert.
We'll definitely return on our next visit to Lake Geneva, perhaps for lunch to enjoy a better view of the lake.

Great view, average food at best. We were served an apitizer we didn't order and charged for it, the 12oz steak was about a 6-8 oz steak and overcooked.
Service was good, an average experience at best for the cost.

We were pleased with our dinner. Both the gaspacho and goulash soups were excellent. Shrimp cocktail had huge shrimp. Lobster ravioli, rack of lamb both excellent, scallops a bit greasy—-not really a beurre blanc. Excellent prices on the wine specials. Our server was friendly and attentive, but not annoying. Nice views from the tiered indoor dining room.

My family and I (8 adults, 6 kids) dined at the Grandview Sunday evening. First I want to say the reservation team was incredible, super accommodating. We ended up in a semi private room with a magnificent view of the lake. Our server Terri was amazing. Attentive, accommodating and just all around great! The food was exceptional (home made pastas, chicken piccata, sea bass, tomahawk pork chop, steak were some of our selections) and everything was made perfectly, including the kids home made Mac and Cheese. Dessert were a sweet and delicious end to the night.
I highly recommend this place!

My family and I would like to share our amazing experience at the Grandview restaurant in Lake Geneva. We chose this restaurant again because one and a half years ago we had a very positive, enjoyable experience. We were there once again to celebrate a family birthday on Friday April 14th, 2023. Our server was Terry, and she was delightful. She explained that this particular Friday was the first day of the new menu. She had explained to us that the staff was allowed to sample all of the menu items and knew exactly what to recommend! Two of us enjoyed the swordfish while the others had the porkchop and the scallops. The food was excellent! Terry was exceptional and we feel she deserves to be recognized as well as the Grandview restaurant for a truly pleasurable evening!

We are VERY wary of dining inside with covid. In fact, we've only done so twice. However, we stayed at this hotel and wanted to be able to drink some quality wine and not worry about driving back! The restaurant had great social distancing measures in place. We were very far from the next table (probably 15 feet), the serves and bartenders had masks on the whole time. I felt very safe. The meal was excellent as was the wine. Would highly recommend!

We used to love Grandview however it has really gone down hill. On a Saturday night at 6:30pm there were only 5 tables filled at the resturant! Prices have go sky high - $18 during happy hour for Kettle One on the rock! Steak was $70 and not the quality of Chicago steak houses! Past -$40 was over cooked and clumped together. Managers comment was I guess you didn’t like our pasta??? Go for the view with a Coke or ice tea but the food has tanked!

After reading other reviews we were excited to dine here for the first time. The food was mediocre and came so fast we had multiple courses at once (appetizer, salads, entrees). There was hair in the appetizer but no one came back to check or ask why we did not eat it. The salad came without dressing and we waited for that to be resolved. The steaks were difficult to cut with a steak knife. More importantly, the bathrooms were dirty and the beautiful windows overlooking the lake were covered in cobwebs. When the guest facing areas are not clean, it makes you wonder what the kitchen looks like.

We came here especially for the Mother's Day Brunch, which was a disaster. Poor service and worse food. There was no mention in making reservations that it was a buffet, just a limited menu from their regular breakfast choices. And on top of all that, the prices were astronomical. They even had the nerve to charge $25 for a toddler's meal. We will not be returning soon...if ever.

Had an excellent dinner for our 40th anniversary overlooking the lake and received complimentary champagne. Weiner schnitzel and scallops were both EXCELLENT and well prepared and seasoned. Reasonably priced restaurant for fine dining
