I expected something Really special when I booked this restaurant/Hotel for dinner. So much Victorian Glitz and Fluff. It was a Smack down disappointment. Seating on an enclosed front porch where the late afternoon sun beat down on you. The seating was HORRIBLE UNCOMFORTABLE. If you like sitting on a low settee or a hard tiny strait back chair at... We celebrated Venetian Night at the Baker House. Had friends join us. The Baker House ambiance, the food, the server staff, is plain outright amazing. But Sunday night was extra special, the owner put on quite an incredible Masquerade Ball. Masks. Decorations. The food was amazing. And the entertainment was fitting of Broadway. From Opera to a dynamo duo theatrical... More

Amazing old building, staff is in costume of the era. You have to stop in and see it. Even if its just for a drink at the famous Hat Bar. You are urged to where one of their original antique hats while you enjoy a cocktail. It is a little pricey, but so much fun.

A friend and I made dinner reservations at 8:30pm. We heard about the sunset toast. It's a really beautiful concept. They ring a bell and everyone goes outside to the outdoor area where there are some cabana seating areas and fire pits. It overlooks the Lake. A gentleman comes out and gives some history on this beautiful historic place. They... More

Looking for a quaint, step back in time Resturant, this is the place. A series of spaces (rooms) contain numerous eating locations. Reservations recommended. We got really lucky not having one but the place definitely fills up. If your feeling a little "fun" there are dozens of hats to try on, pose with and eat in. That's a first and... More

Go for the hats and the ambiance and great service. Wine list was very acceptable. Only thing not impressive was the food itself. We knew the menu was limited and assumed they did a bang up job in what they did offer. Sadly it was good but in memorable.

The Baker House offers an historic setting which adds a romantic flavor to taking tea. The afternoon starts with a tour of the main floor of this vintage home of Robert Hall Baker built around 1885. This home has had many iterations and currently is an elegant hotel with a lovely restaurant. We enjoyed the tour and choosing a hat... More

We walked around the lobby, bar and dining area and vowed to return for a stay and meal. It is an amazing historical place with period decor. The host encouraged us to try on the many vintage hats in the lobby that, were there for visitors to try on. We wanted to have a drink in the really cool bar,... More

We needed an early dinner after an exhausting day with our granddaughters. The dining room was not quite ready and we went to the bar for a libation while we waited. Service was dreadfully slow even though they were not busy. There is a wide selection of old hats that one can try one while waiting and it was good... More
