This is the best supper club I have ever been to. Get there early. It is first come first serve. Sit in the main bar and enjoy a Bloody Mary, which is served with a skewer appetizer and beer chaser. The curds appetizer is divine!...The meal is served with a variety of crackers and cheese along with a basket of rolls. Steaks were beyond delicious. Wait staff and bar service is top notch. If you want to really impress somebody, this is where you take them.More

We tried 4 times to eat here. Just a few years ago we could stop in for a drink and wait 15 minutes or so for a table and enjoy a quiet meal. Not anymore. Each and ever time we tried to dine here, including...a weekday, after tourist season was over, we were told the wait would be 2 hours, earlier tries the wait was 4 hours, 3 hours, and 4 hours. The food is ok but nothing here is worth a 2 plus hour wait. A manager at another supper club told me not taking reservations is the Ishnala gimmick. They sell a ton of booze to people that are 'waiting'. We are extremely disappointed in Ishnala. We have taken it off our list of supper clubs that we frequent. Ishnala needs to have a little class and respect for locals by implementing Open Table or other reservation system. I am sad to write this as I have zero expectation of ever dining here again. On our most recent try as I observed cars parked along the road and other cars circling the parking lot looking for a space, and throngs of people milling about with empty old fashioned glasses I thought to myself, "Ishnala means alone, by itself'. Really?More

We have been to Ishnala many times. There is always a wait and the food has mostly been very good. This time I ordered lamb and paid an upcharge to have asparagus instead of a potato. The lamb was delicious. The asparagus was very "woody"...and chewy and the tops of it were dry. It was horrible and really not edible. There was not sauce or seasoning on it. Just dry, lousy stalks of asparagus on a plate. I said something to the waitress and all she said was "oh, sorry" and walked away. I paid an upcharge for that? I am sorry but after an hour and half wait whee we had drinks and paying for a pricey dinner, at least the charge for the asparagus should have been taken off of my bill. Next time we decide we want a supper club dinner, we will try another place that is more attentive to their customers. We have a place in the Dells and are in the area almost every spring, summer and fall weekend. We can spend our money elsewhere.More

This place is a full experience of going back in time to the 1920s or 30s. The drive in is a welcome change from all of the hustle of the local entertainment of the dells. We try to stop in when we can and sometime...make the extra effort to stay in the area just to come here for dinner. The food is good and there is plenty given per serving. The staff is always nice and interesting to talk to because they are likely to be collage kids working for money in the summer. The last time we had to wait 2.5 hours since it was one of the last days open. We arrived at 4:00. Lots of people just hang around the grounds or at one of the three bars. We have often had to wait but never this long. Still it was an enjoyable time talking to other who were waiting. I had the duck and au gratin. My wife had the scallops and asparagus. All were very good. We love the bread and cheese spread. Again expect to wait and just enjoy the nature and end with a good meal.More

We have loved Ishnala for many years. In fact we drive up from Chicago to have dinner here. We came up today and found a parking lot overflowing onto the road that leads up to the restaurant and a three hour wait. I believe that...it is disrespectful to customers to NOT take reservations and to expect customers to be happy waiting for such a long period of time to have the honor of having dinner here. We left and had a wonderful dinner at the Del Bar. Ishnala, please respect your customers and allow them to make reservations,More

We had a very long wait for a table, but the food was worth the wait. I had steak and shrimp. Steak melted in my mouth. Very good. Service was top notch as usual. I go here every time I visit the Dells.

Atmosphere and service is superb. My steak was not good. I couldn't even eat it and I'm not that picky. It actually tasted like venison. We will go back for old fashions and appetizers, maybe try something other than steak for dinner. Steak too expensive...and not good. Disappointed, my previous visits were great.More

We arrived at 3:15 for 3:30 opening and got at the end of the line from those arriving earlier still. We were told we be seated around 4:15 and that's what happened. We loved having a glass of Proseco ( sparkling Italian) on one of...the outside decks before hand. In fact, if we come back again we likely skip dinner in favor of one of the outside decks, drinks and appetizers.More

Very disappointed that we drove an hour to visit this restaurant one last time before the season ended and came around 3;30pm. The bar opens at 3:00pm and dining opens at 4:00pm. It was a Friday night so, we purposely came early to get in...fairly soon. The wait time was 1 1/2 to 2 hours long-RIDICULOUS!! They said they have a few bars open and music on the beach but, who would want to pay the expensive prices for drinks while waiting that long? I know thats how they make their money but, seriously, get a reservation system in place. People dont enjoy waiting that long, at all! We’ve been coming for years and love how the landscaping and new bathrooms and bar area is, but, that wont sell it for us. Off to Del Bar, we went along with other people driving out-got in right away. Personally, Del-Bar is our favorite place and enjoy the view and ambience at Ishnala but, the food isn’t that great and the prices too high!More

We went in August. There were no masks worn. We minimized our time inside, ordered drinks and went outside by the beach to wait. Once seated inside, we were comfortable with the distance between tables but remember it is... More

Put your name down, order a cocktail, they are known for brandy old fashions, very delicious. Then wait for 1 to two hours. We found it’s best if you get there when they open might only be 30 minutes. Take the scenery in... More
