Awesome meal! My scallops were perfect. Shrimp appetizer was delicious as well. Everyone enjoyed all their meals. Love the atmosphere in Diggers as well! Nick, our server was very attentive. Will return when we are back in the area.
While in Lacrosse, we had to try Diggers. It completely lived up to it's reputation. The bartender was pleasant and very professional. The drinks were excellent, especially the blackberry old fashions. We were seated in the back dining room, only to discover another bar. Two...of us ordered the filet and the other three the salmon. All were wonderful, as was the service.More
Digger's Sting feels like a classic supper club from days gone bye. We requested the escargot appetizer, but sadly, they were out. We opted for cheese curds, which were wonderful. We both ordered the same entree....tenderloin with mushrooms, an amazing cream sauce, & baked potato....The tenderloin was perfectly cooked & very flavorful. We shared a Tiramisu for dessert which was delicate with a very rich flavor. We would highly recommend a stop at Digger's Sting.More
Good food, love the atmosphere. But…servers need to be better trained. You do not bring take out boxes to a table when some guests are still enjoying their dinner. Rushing to eat my expensive dinner almost ruined the experience for me.
We went to LaCrosse on a short trip to see the colors of fall. Stayed one night in downtown LaCrosse. Searching for where to have dinner we thought Digger's Sting looked good. When we couldn't get a reservation before 7:45 made 5 days in advance,...we though it must be good. Yep - it was good. Still very busy at 7:45 when we arrived! All of the staff was very helpful, attentive and working their butts off! They cleared and got us a table after a short wait. The server was fantastic (why can't I remember her name? - My bad.) Wine list was short, but met our wants perfectly. I can't say enough how awesome the bread was! Warm, butter, garlic, crispy - that could have been the meal!! The salads (house) had very crispy lettuce and veggies! Served cold - on cold plates - perfect!! The entrees' - walleye - - pan seared - perfect! Prime rib - rare - another perfect. Overall - All great, wonderful, perfect! Wish we lived closer so we could go back more often. Oh - last, but not least, compared to prices in lots of other places in the US, the price was far less than most - this place is an over the top, high quality great deal! AMore
Family dinner, everything was delicious! Starting with the garlic toast (could have made a meal with this!). Every dish was cooked to perfection, prime rib you can cut with a butter knife, filet mignon perfectly cooked to medium, tender and juicy, the mushrooms were outstanding!...Combined with great service , will definitely visit again.More
My daughter and I were in town for a softball tournament and heard this was the place for a great dinner! Well,,,, unless you are in for a strong political debate with bleeding liberals and a server Nick who after I requested a table change...because of my plead with the four who couldn’t stop talking politics after I had asked them in front of my 12 year old daughter to refrain from bringing politics in a business…. My steak was very over-cooked and honestly it ruined the entire night having the staff add fuel to fire by adding his personal opinions to the mix and now creating even more of an uncomfortable setting to my daughter and I! This business is NOT a family business and unless you choose to have a night ruined by stuffy, rude elderly crowd….. who said I should have taken my daughter to chuckie cheese… And big thank you to Nick who confirmed my business with my 12 year old daughter means nothing to him! Highly disappointed and not a place to ever visit againMore
Great waitress and bartender in a place with a cool ambiance and history. BBQ ribs were OK, but the steak was fantastic. Drinks are mixed well. People told me this was a "supper club", but I would call it more of a steak house.
We were visiting LaX on our anniversary and trying to visit all the venues of our wedding there. Received many recommendations from our local family and friends that this restaurant was not to be missed. Very true! Received friendly accommodating reception from the host even...without the highly advised reservation. We chose bar seating as we were there strictly for the escargot and a few cocktails. The escargot were tender, hot, garlicy and buttery, everything they should be. Garlic toast was perfect for mopping up the sauce! Bourbon sour old fashion was very well made by the cordial bartender. Well worth the visit for those tasty morsels!More
We have been to Diggers Sting many many times over the years. It never disappoints! The food & drinks are always superior! The staff is too notch! And the atmosphere/ambiance is great! It's an old school supper club with the theme of The Sting. Drinks...named for movie characters and actors... Lots of pictures... Dark & quiet... With great food & wait staff! It's a local favorite, for sure!More
This is the first time I've spent over $200.00 for our meal and been asked or told actually to leave immediately when we got done eating because they wanted our table. I wish I hadn't already left a $50.00 tip. And the food wasn't that...great either. It really ruined what should have been a nice dining experience. VERY DISAPPOINTED.More
It is so nice that Digger’s has reopened. The establishment never disappoints. They offer a wide variety of specials in addition to their large menu. I usually enjoy their tenderloin/tips with special seasoning. My wife enjoys their large fresh fish selections. Great service and very...reasonable prices. Enjoy their garlic toast! Reservations make senseMore
I had the New York New York cocktail and it was delicious! Our server was courteous and knowledgeable. Speed of service was spot on. Our entrees were excellent, had the beef tenderloin special and the beef was served as ordered. Old fashioned restaurant (supper club...feel). Highly recommend this restaurant!!!More
Just got back from having one of the best dinners in La Crosse! We were visiting with family we have not seen in years and Zach..aka Alex was the best!! He knew if we were in deep conversation and when he could sneak in!! He...actually added to the great dinner! Cheese curds were superb. My teriyaki filet was delicious! All of us were very pleased. Thank you Diggers and Zach for an overall great experience!! See you in 6 weeks!More
