This is my favorite place for fish fry. The food is always hot, the fish fresh, the fries delish. Decided to try the take out fish fry due to the COVID-19 shut down. Everything was the same as dining in except the fish. It was not the same fish they usually serve and definitely not the same breading. Not sure why it changed but I will wait until they reopen before I get it again.

The first restaurant I've been to since isolation. We sat on the patio. Great choice. It was a lovely evening, the food was great, the service was stellar. Four of us each had a meal and drink and it cost $107. They cleaned the tables and chairs after each group finished. Everyone wore masks.

We enjoyed 3-course dinner in the Granary with per-course wine pairings chosen from the varieties produced in their winery. My wife thought her filet was the best she had ever eaten; my blackened salmon was very good too. We plan to attend some of the special events here during the year.

Noticed the cute little white tents on the property, checked the website & read that we can rent a dining “villa” for $25. Since our wedding anniversary was later that week, we thought it would be a unique way to celebrate. Stopped in, gave our info, but received a phone call later that the rental fee would actually be $50! I was told the $25 rental fee only applies to 4 or more guests and that the $50 rental fee would be in ADDITION to the cost of dinner. I applaud the extra sanitation efforts the restaurant is taking, but apparently the cost is being passed on to the consumer. Needless to say, we will be celebrating our anniversary elsewhere.

We wanted an opportunity to explain the reasoning behind our policy. Currently, we are charging $25 for a 4 or more guests in our outdoor tents and $50 for parties of 2 to rent the tents. The reason for charging is to help pay for the overhead of servicing the tents. There is the teardown and setup of each of these tents, the setup of the firepit, etc. We also have extra staff needed to service outdoor dining. With that said, we are reviewing our policies in light of this to make sure that our policies are aligned with our company vision for providing our guests with the safest and most pleasurable dining experience we can offer. I certainly invite you to reach out to me the next time you visit the Blind Horse. Tom Nye GM

Super excited to listen to live music on the patio last Saturday evening. My wife and I were seated accordingly, ordered a cocktail and pizza. Both Drinks were good (Mules) and the wood fire pizza came out hot and tasty! The issue started soon after as we seem to be forgotten about. Our waitress (Chloe) seemed to avoid eye contact and we asked twice for another cocktail. We sat for 36 minutes with an empty drink and empty water. Finally had to request check so we could find another establishment to get more cocktails. Disappointing as the music and ambiance seemed inviting. Possibly an oversight but it was not that busy and our server continued to walk by our table oblivious to our empty glasses. The wines looked good and I would have liked to try them all. Mandatory masks on the staff was inviting with continuous cleaning service. Guests wearing masks was about 50% when leaving the tables. May have to give this place another try to see if we nave have just “fell between the cracks”.

I’ve been wanting to try Blind Horse for awhile & had the pleasure in July as part of a work luncheon. I’m gluten-free (celiac disease) & wasn’t sure if that was shared with the restaurant - but came prepared with snacks in case there wasn’t anything I can eat. The lunch buffet consisted of salad, several pizzas, burgers and chicken breasts. I thought great, I can eat a burger and chicken breast without the bun. However I overheard the owner say to a worker -something along the lines of … the gluten free pizzas are almost done. I turned around & asked “oh… you have gluten free pizza?” The owner quickly said “well, not for you.” I gasped. She then said “we are aware of one person who needs gluten free & they’re for her.” I thought… are you sure it’s not me, but whatever. Instead I said “that’s ok I can eat a burger & chicken with a fork.” To which she replied “our gluten free pizzas are personal so there’s not enough to share.” Then walked away. I mean… wow! I have had celiac since 2009 & have never been treated like that before. I’m confused why (in the very least) she didn’t just say “oh I’m so sorry we didn’t know there was another person with a gluten intolerance but let me show you what you can eat.”

I have been here twice now and are very happy that my wife and I finally tried it. I love the scallops and my wife loved her steak the first. The second time, I enjoyed the the walleye which was so lightly breaded and very tasty. My wife had the Shrimp and grits and couldn't say enough about them. Drinks are average. I love a good bloody mary and it was good but, didn't have a wow factor. Wife enjoys Martini's and you really can't screw that up. The Bruschetta board is incredible. We have had all 6 and they were all good and unique. We are very happy to this restaurant to are list as a go to for good food.

Came for lunch on a Saturday out on the patio. The atmosphere was relaxed. Perhaps a little too relaxed. Service was slow. We ordered two beers and waited 35 minutes for them to arrive. In that amount of time we saw another table get their drinks and food before we ordered our meals. (The other table arrived after us.) After waiting an hour for our food we finally got our meals to go. When I opened my to go box I was shocked to see the tacos served to me. Please see the photo I attached. Those tacos were $6/each. We live less than a mile from the Blind Horse and I will not be back. Sheboygan and Kohler have too many other great restaurants to choose from to be cheated by this one.

We are so sorry that you had a bad experience at our restaurant and we apologize. We served 325 people yesterday with a short staff and somehow you slipped through the cracks. The Blind Horse has a great reputation for good food, good service and an environment that nobody in Sheboygan county can duplicate. You are welcome to come back and we will make up to you.

When you have a restaurant, a winery and a casual fare option, you have a winning combination. You have a fine dining option in The Blind Horse restaurant. A true dining experience with elegant ambiance and great service. then there is The Granary, a casual fare dining with great pizza and a Friday fish fry. Be sure to get the truffle fries, they are delicious. You can even finish the meal with a chocolate fountain!! You can start all of this at The Winery. A true California style winery with lots of great wine and even some drought beer. Enjoy!!

A friend and I were staying in Kohler for the weekend and decided to try this restaurant. The reviews we read were mixed but thought it looked interesting enough to give it a try. The ambience and service were excellent, as was the wine we ordered and the beet appetizer. The entree, however, was another story. We both ordered the red snapper. Mine came floating in a broth, more like fish soup, which was not how it was listed on the menu. Both of us noticed right away that the supposedly "fresh" snapper had a very fishy taste. We've both enjoyed snapper filets at other places and know that this fish is supposed to be a light tasting filet, not fishy tasting. Considering the price of the entree, we had hoped for something much better.

Have eaten here more than a dozen times. One of the favorite places for us to go as a couple and to bring friends. In a dozen times only had one time when the food was perhaps average. Last two times have been wonderful. Our party of 4 all had different things....lobster ravioli, steak, Walleye, and tacos. All very pleased. Desserts were wonderful as well. One of the highlights was our server Savannah. Second time having her and her attention to detail, pleasant spirit, and desire to engage with the guests is really commendable. Ended up spending more on food than anticipated partly because of her excellent service. Well done! Give her a raise :)

Went for a dinner for 4. Their entire menu is one page. On the entree section is a choice of 8 meals. One had meat on it which was the Filet so I ordered it. That's exactly what I got. A steak. No salad, potato, veggies - nothing. for the 4 of us it cost us over $200 and we had to go to another place to eat. Unbelievable.

I'm sorry that you were not happy with your meal. We are definitely not the Cheesecake Factory or a Wisconsin Supper Club. We are a restaurant where we buy the finest meats and everything is hand made in our restaurant. Our filet mignon meal which you ordered Is by far our most popular meal. I understand that your entire meal was covered by a gift certificate and we tried to address your unhappiness by comping you champagne as a result of your displeasure. Our reputation and history of reviews I believe speaks for itself. Sorry this did not work out as you expected.

We came for our anniversary and chose the restaurant's patio in the back by the Blind Horse statue, because we don't really like eating inside because of COVID. It only holds 4 tables and is very secluded. Loved the pond nearby... this is a very pretty space, but did not like the mosquitos. As soon as the heater was turned on tho', the bugs went away. The hostess and server couldn't have been more attentive. They even brought us champagne for our anniversary. Good wine list, lovely salads, The Veg Bisque was yummy. My husband loved his smash burger and I loved the Duroc Pork Chop. We were stuffed and I only ate half. Brittany, our server, went above and beyond.

Monday before the fourth eight family members found this place open.the patio and tavern were not open so we ate in the main dining room . It is a casual friendly spot outside of Kohler ,Wi. The appetizers were all original, well prepared and very tasty. We all had "smash burgers with a variety of success. Mine was particularly dry and over cooked but others were very happy. Fries were good, don't bother with the truffle add on. I would return some other time for some of the more expensive entrees .

Last night we spent the evening in this beautiful restaurant! I always have loved this whole property! The winery, patio, Granary, and restaurant. Was greeted by the very enthusiastic staff. Both Roxanne , and Melissa very friendly and knowledgeable behind the bar. Enjoyed learning about and tasting some some of their new featured specialty drinks and twists on old favorites. Dani was very engaging and knowledgeable about the menu. This help greatly for my mother always has a considerable amount of questions. She also was very close to getting my father to try fish. Might have been the closest anyone has ever gotten. Everyone had a great experience and we will be returning again!
