Great simple food

The diner is great. The experience of waiting in a line in a small train car is something I didn't think would be enjoyable but I must say that it does add to the flavor of the place. Sunday mornings are especially crowded and the food makes it all seem worth while.

I worked there for a few months and the stuff they use to prepare items is horible. Only a couple things made from scratch. Before i was hired i was told most things are from scratch. The oil they use to fry eggs, pancakes, potato cakes, and much more is a blend of hydrogenated oils. Very bad for you. And... More

Stand in line and try to share space with servers, other people waiting, folks going and returning from the bathroom, customers, and random others. It's crazy, but very social. Food is good, solid breakfast fare. Wait staff is curt, in a friendly aunt sort of way. You feel like you are in a time warp here, and you are.

Great atmosphere! You don't get much more funky than a lunch car diner. Great customer service. The garbage plate is a must but everything is good.

The Garbage Plate is the way to go...if you're willing to wait quite a while for a seat. There is a lot of history in this little diner which makes it a place that you really need to visit at least once. The "bossy" staff makes for an entertaining time.

When they said there was a garbage plate, I thought they were joking. Almost like a challenge, I ordered it of course. Oh boy it was a yummy, stick to your ribs, heart attack on a plate. Did I every love it. A tiny little place with lots of character. Sit at the counter for lots of good fun bantering... More

This is a very popular breakfast/lunch place in Kenosha that is frequently the subject of TV shows about hometown venues. Saturday and Sunday mornings usually have lines of locals and curious tourists waiting for a great meal and the occasional sarcastic quip from the staff. The wait and humor are always worth the great food and the sense of home... More

You must sit at the counter and watch them make the garbage plates. It is an amazing show. The food is fine, but it is the atmosphere that sets this place apart.

When visiting kenisha be sure to stop at Frank's Diner. It's a small cozy restaurant that was featured in diners dives tv show. The "garbage plate" is the best breakfast palate around!
