Grandson took us here and it didn’t disappoint. It was very busy but we were seated quickly. Service is seriously outstanding, you never wanted or needed anything. I ordered their famous cinnamon French toast and ate it all. The fellas had biscuits & gravy. Prices...are reasonable too!More

We have visited 4-5 times over the last 5 years while visiting Kenosha (my wife hometown) from Texas. Gateway is a favorite for breakfast but also lunch. The service is consistently very good and in particular since re-opening after COVID-19 closure. Friendly, prompt and efficient....The menu has many great choices. Quality is good. Value is excellent. And save space for one of many lovely pies in the display case. My only mistake is having driven by this cafe for years and not stopping. I will go again and again now that we have discovered this gem.More

We had a gyro salad and gyro platter. Best in town! Chicken salad plate was also tasty. The croissant was toasted perfectly and light and flaky. The starter loaf of bread was fresh and warm.

Seated right away. Water brought to us and we were asked if we wanted coffee. Two more people met us. We chatted and then we placed our orders. Food arrived fast. Huge portions, excellent services. At least 3 people going around and pouring coffee. One...being the owner. Tables were bused as soon as the table was empty. Great staff at this place.More

Me and my husband have been coming to here for years. Always had good food and pies. However today the service was awful. I ordered the gyro omelet, light hashbrowns and pancakes. My husband ordered the Denver omelet. My husband couldn't even eat his omelet...it. It had no taste to it and way over cooked, he lost his appetite. My omelet had no taste to it and it was dry, all i could taste is the sauce that I put on it. My hashbrowns were under cooked and my pancakes were super dark. Neither one of us ate our breakfast we were so disgusted we just paid the $20 and left. He told the manager about how bad the food was you would think she reduce the bill, but O no! So he told her it will be a long time before we go back there again if ever.More

Quick summary: wide menu of sandwiches, soups, salads, stir frys, steak and chicken, liver, and other mains. Deep breakfast menu. Friendly, professional service. Moderate prices. I was taken to lunch here for professional reasons, and was very impressed. The wide menu had sandwiches, soups, salads,...and mains. My colleague and I had the gyros, which comes with a cup (your choice) of the excellent homemade soup, chips and pickle ($8.29 for a real mountain of tasty meat in the pita. You can also get is as a platter served with soup and Greek salad for $11.29.) Since much of our lunch talked business, I did not get a great chance to study prices, but my general impression is very moderate and good value. The basic burger with chips and soup is $5.79. Most food was under $10, and almost everything is under $20, including the 1/2 roast chicken with soup or salad, potato/rice, veg, and bread for $9.29. The New York steak au jus with sauteed mushrooms or onion rings, seemed to top the price list at $15.99. Deep dessert menu with homemade pies starring, but cakes, etc. too. The food around us looked good -- burgers, fried fish, etc. A colleague who goes here a lot of breakfast said good things about the omelets (in the $7 range with American fries or hash browns and choice of pancakes or toast. Extensive breakfast menu includes seemingly everything -- eggs, waffles, crepes, croissants, etc. No bar or bar menu that I can see. Friendly, professional, attentive service, even though the place was pretty busy. So - now that I know this place, I'll be happy to return.More

My fiancee knew about Gateway Cafe, having lived in Kenosha for nearly two decades, but every time we wanted to visit, the parking lot was always filled to capacity. We got there a little earlier than usual last Sunday, and were thrilled to find parking,...meaning I could finally try their food. The waitress was pleasant and attentive to our needs; she also was knowledgeable about the menu, so she was able to answer any questions we had. The only negative I could say about Gateway Cafe is that the busier it gets, the louder it gets, so having normal conversations is difficult. Also, since they fit as many people in as possible, it's sometimes hard for plus-sized people such as myself to maneuver through the tables. Food-wise, they are outstanding. I opted for my personal favorite dish, potato pancakes, and was not disappointed by their offering. They got my order right (no applesauce or sour cream), and the sausage I ordered as a side was delicious as well. My fiancee gave me her bacon, and it was crunchy enough and flavorful. I am looking forward to giving this location much more business in the years to come, and recommend them for anyone who wants a good meal at a fair price.More

Went for dinner. Place was busy. Food was fine. Pricing was fine. Service was not. At first we thought are waitress was just stressed because she was overloaded. It become apparent she just not a happy camper. I don't know her problem but being rude...to the custumer isn't acceptable. I have been here many times and the staff has always been nice. Wish i knew her name i should have said something to the manager.More

Friday fish fry is pretty good. The fried chicken was over cooked. Vegetables were very bland. I think they just pour them out of a can and heat them up with absolutely NO seasonings or spices. Yuck Yuck Yuck
