What a strange experience walking into this place. It's a bar and grill with a Chicago hotel bar ambience. (Not a bad thing, just hard to get a handle on.) But it was the food that stopped us cold. (Keep reading and you'll see what...I did there.) Best restaurant in Janesville? I'm truly sorry for the people of Janesville if that's the case. Chicken soup: Luke warm, bland - far superior versions are served every day at coffee shops across America. Spinach and artichoke dip: The absolute worst we have ever tasted. Strong vinegar flavor because instead of being baked, it was simply scooped out of a tub and microwaved, with some mozzarella that was not melted, just sprinkled on top. It was served with tiny crostini that were not, as the name might imply, crusty at all; they were very lightly toasted and again, not warm. We sent it back and I just ordered some chicken strips. Hard to screw up, right? Well, they didn't but they certainly weren't special: In fact, they had a weird grainy breading that was ok but lacked flavor. (They were hotter than blazes, so I'll give them that.) My husband had a wrap, which was well prepared and in his opinion - "Fine, nothing special. This place has been so hyped, I actually went online to make sure we were in the right place. Alas, we were. The waitstaff was friendly and professional and did not charge us for the dip. (It was a long day of business meetings so that evening we met friends up the road at Sneakers to catch Badgers-Buckeyes: Great bar menu and really good food - for a much lower price.)More

We were told a 10-15 minute wait for a booth and said we’d be seated at the bar. Ordered a drink and then waited and waited. Others were seated before us and when we questioned why were told they were here before us. Did they...hide in the bathroom waiting for a table because they definitely weren’t waiting in line or the bar. We finished our drink and left for dinner elsewhere. The bartender was great, the drink was good but the hostess needs to learn her job. An hour wait is not 10 minutes. Keep track of who is waiting, and don’t make excuses. Offer a table or patio seating or at least an honest explanation.More

The steak here is excellent, easily the best in town and the fish fry here is also quite terrific. The staff are always attentive without being obtrusive. Unlike some pricier restaurants in the area, the food here is actually worth the money.

We needed a good place for lunch in Janesville and found it. Food was great, generous portions and reasonable prices. My husband had the hamburger and said it tasted like “someone actually made the burger, not just fried up something frozen.” I had the grilled...burrito - excellent. Came with a “sweet corn cake” and I didn’t know what to expect. It was a delicious corn fritter, a great accompaniment to the burrito. We shared the onion straws. They would have gone well with a cold beer, but we were driving. If we go back to Janesville, we will certainly return.More

We have just moved to Janesville and had a gift card to the Milwaukee Grill. Since the reviews and word is that it is the BEST in town. I sure hope not. It was crowded so we finally got a seat in a booth by...the bar. Service was really slow, and even worse, the beer was warm. I ordered the Prime Rib which was the special of the day. I should have sent it back...I couldn't cut the meat with my knife or my husbands. Totally inedible. So disappointed! Will not be going back, ever.More

Inside dining Sunday 8/22/2021. Ordered Harvest Salad. Beautiful presentation however within 30 minutes I ended up with severe Food Poising. Be careful. Service lacked big time from ordering to actual delivery .

The bar staff was very attentive and congenial. Reservations are not accepted. There is outdoor seating. For those that can not do stairs, maybe 2 tables available on lower landing, but one can eat at the bar. Restrooms nice, clean and well stocked. Our waitress...was not exactly friendly. Appetizers were delivered promptly but dinner took a little longer than expected. Portion size more that enough. On the evening we visited the credit card/debit card machine was having issues. We waited almost 45 minutes and finally decided we actually had enough cash to pay our bill. We would have greatly appreciated some communication from the manager or the hostess on the situation, but none came. The dining room area was smaller than we expected. Menu has a variety and there is a gluten free menu available. Our party had the gluten free ship tacos which were fresh and received a good review, 3 prime ribs all fine, a meatloaf which was a large portion, but lacked on flavor, a burger with sweet potato fries - burger was good, sweet potato fries tasted good but were cold. We tried it for dinner. May stop in for drinks one time in the future, but we won't go out of our way.More

This was a great find on our vacation. Kelsey was our server and she was very help with recommending great dishes. The penne and Meatloaf were very good. The service was very efficient and the food came out very quickly. Would greatly recommend to anyone...in the area.More

Short wait in the bar, friendly people. Our server was a delight. Both of our meals were excellent and reasonably priced. I would certainly go back.

Service was great. Food was great. Homemade items on the menu. The restaurant did not take it out of the freezer and heat it up. They are actually cooking things. We will defiantly plan to eat here again as we pass through town.

My wife and I recently went to dinner here. When we arrived, they were on a wait so we went to the bar for a drink. Classy bar! Drinks were tasty. We both had the Blood Orange Margarita. The first table that was available was...on the patio and considering the beautiful weather we jumped at the chance. Very pleasant atmosphere. My wife had the fish tacos, and I had the fried fish. Very tasty. Overall, service was great and we definitely will recommend this place to our friends.More

We went to this restaurant to try somewhere new in town. This place supposedly won a trip advisor award. WE WILL NEVER GO BACK!!!! And I think the awards they have for n the wall must be fake!!! The service was horrible. We were there...over 2 hours. The waitress brought the wrong orders & was so slow. My friend got his order & was done eating before she brought my corrected order. Never refilled drinks. The manager never stopped by either. Then she had a major attitude when I just cxld my order. My friend’s order wasn’t correct either but he was starving so he just ate it. SERIOUSLY......DON’T WASTE YOUR TIME OR MONEY!!!More
