This inviting place is an old saw mill that is now a restaurant & they do host some activities, The menu is small & simple & the food is FRESH. They offer a few salads, sandwiches soups & chili. We had their white chili and...sandwiches which was more than enough to eat. The sandwiches come with your choice of sides. Their specialty seems to be their GELATO which they make on site. They had over 6 flavors. This is a nice stop to spend some time looking around Millstone and learning about the history. They offer indoor & outdoor seating.More

Real gelato, lots of flavors to choose from. They serve good sandwiches and have an amazing espresso shake that gets me back regularly.

This century plus old grist mill / wood mill is the setting for a very pleasant stop for lunch. The menu is simple but all items are very good, especially the soups. You dine among some of the old equipment from over 50 years ago...and can walk around and explore how the old business operated. Said that, the place is spotless so don't think you will be sitting in an old barn. The views are great and the service is friendly and helpful. Ask the lady who sits in the front of the building for her recommendation...she is there every day and will offer great suggestions. Follow the meal with ice cream from the shop in the front and then take your own tour of the grounds to take in a little history while you are there.More

Our absolute favorite place for homemade gelato (European ice cream), cappuccino, pizza. The atmosphere is great, a great place to relax.

The best espresso coffee drinks, beer, gelato (think the best ice cream ever), sandwiches and pizza! If you don’t eat here you are missing out! Yummy!

We found Iola, Wisconsin by accident. It is a quaint little town. We stopped at the Millstone to check it out and was pleasantly surprised. It’s a beautiful old mill turned into a restaurant and ice cream shop. The ice cream was to die for....The owner was not the friendliest or very talkative, but that didn’t really matter. It was worth the stop.More

We stopped here for a family meal, never dreamed it would be so unique. Food was great, must try the pizza. We were so full we did not have room for the gelato. We will go back!

The gelato is so good and to be able to walk around in the old mill is so much fun! I'm so glad the owners have decided to restore the building and let people see it!

We came into town on the Thursday during the Iola Car Show. We went into the Old Mill, which is connected to the Millstone. We just grabbed a beer each and when back to listen to the music! We used to come here years ago...when you got your ice cream out of a window. I'm glad they kept this historic building. Nice place!More

Izzy waited on us and I must say, she is a real asset to the restaurant and gelato shop. She was friendly and so personable. We enjoyed her tremendously and made our visit the best!

We stopped here for lunch. Delicious sandwiches on home made bread. I had a turkey and cheese. My husband had a Reuben and white chili. Gelato for dessert. Many different flavors, and you can taste test them before ordering.

Unfortunately we had already had lunch but the gelato was good and the ambiance is very pleasant. I would like to return some time.

An extremely unique and friendly atmosphere. Delicious pizza and gelato. Can't wait to make our way back to Iola just to visit The Millstone again! Maybe next time we'll be able to listen to some good music or play some trivia. Looking forward to our...visit back!More

Great food (not run of the mill, panninis, wraps, and gelatto!). What an awesome place that they have fixed up and left so much historical machinery and the inside of the upstairs still looks like a mill, large wood beams, wood floor, great scenery out...back towards the lake, open atmosphere that overlooks Main st. Couldn't be any more quaint.More
