Very disappointed. Half of staff do not wear masks. Our waitress did not and she was not maintaining enough space. She hovered over our shoulders. Too close and we were very uncomfortable. She was training a waiter who wore a mask and he was so...much more considerate as well as professional. The room is loud due to the high ceilings and wood. Our waitress and trainee stood at the station which was behind our table and the waitress chatted loudly about personal things. It was difficult for us to talk at our table. The trainee was considerate and we could not hear him. Other employees we assume were owners maybe would go to tables to greet regulars and they talked and laughed so loud I felt like I was in a beer hall! The food: haystack onion rings were basically inedible. Way over salted. My chicken risotto special had too much garlic and way too much butter. It was mushy. My moms salmon was ok--- stuffed with crab--- very little crab--- way too much butter. Spinach risotto was bland, mushy and not seasoned well. My brother was the winner. His fillet was delicious and he enjoyed. Overall it was an extremely disappointing dinner. Did I mention the fly? Oh, yes, we had a fly or 2 bothering us all through our dinner. When I asked if they could help get rid of it, a woman stopped by and asked "What would you like me to do about it?" We won't be back.More

We took out parents out for drinks, they’d been wanting to go for awhile as they heard good things. The interior is beautiful, very well done. However, the bartenders were terrible, rude and dismissive. We had 2 drinks and left. We went across the street-Sloppy...Joe’s- much better! Super friendly staff! Very disappointing, spend your money elsewhere.More

The last time we were at Johnny Manhattan's, all bartenders and bar servers wore masks and because JM had removed some bar seating, there was social distancing at the bar. Tonight, none of the bartenders, bar servers or the hostess were wearing masks. When I...asked the hostess why, she explained that everyone had "underlying medical conditions" and as a result, did not have to wear one. When I asked about social distancing at the bar, she explained that people move chairs around so that's why it looked like people where not social distancing. In reality, none of the chairs had been removed. We arrived early and sat at the end of the bar. When I asked our bartender if she was supposed to be wearing a mask, she said yes. Please DO NOT go to Johnny Manhattan's until they follow the rules. We will not be going back. I'm sure they don't care; we're not "regulars."More

Johnny Manhattan's is a bit of a drive for us, but it is well worth it, as the food and the service is great! Drive out of the city for a Saturday dinner and enjoy not only the food, but also a nice country drive.

Honestly, I wasn't expecting much. After I booked the reservation many of the locals I chatted with were very indifferent about the restaurant. Very glad I didn't listen to them as it was so very good. The portions are huge though so plan on asking...for a doggy bag. We had to try a Manhattan and it didn't disappoint. I was there with 4 other people. We had prime rib and crab legs - all were amazing!More

Food was so-so and pricey. The staff seem to be bickering amongst themselves and frustrated. Well the atmosphere is nice and the Christmas decorations were nice I would suggest saving your money and going across the street.

Savory seafood simply outstanding. Tho known for excellent steak, this time we had salmon and scallops. Salad starters were crisp and solid. Entrees were another story, as each was outstanding. Never had a meal here we were unhappy with. The atmosphere is also a significant...plus, as it is highly unique, well appointed decorations. Unlike some where the purpose is to hide B+ quality with noise, JM's is also a great restaurant from standpoint of facilitating conversations. Last trip was a year earlier. Service this time was again a bit gruff. Looks like management needs to tune that one aspect up to launch into a truly 5-star overall quality and experience.More

Johnny Manhattans is a very unique place. It’s surrounded by very small communities and is near Holy Hill Basilica. Like they say, it is a classy, but casual experience. When entering the building the first greeting was warm, friendly and welcoming. The cocktails at the...friendly bar were very generously served. We were both planning to have the prime rib, but when my husband saw the spaghetti and meatballs being served at the next table he just had to order it. The 3 meatballs were large and the best ever! Served with salad and a huge loaf of garlic bread. Amazing! The servers and staff were great! We had a wonderful experience and will very definitely be returning. This is one of the few 5 rating we have given. Excellent.More
