I decided to take my wife out to diner for her birthday - she wanted to go to Zesti's as she had not been there and we have both been to IL Mito - which was very good. They sat us at a table that...wobbled very badly. The waiter was very difficult to understand and always seemed like he had to be somewhere else. When the food came - we tried the duck. The duck was very good. The spinach was cold. Then there was this potato thing. It tasted like someone undercooked scalloped potatoes and then pressed them together - not good. In the end - no dessert and no happy birthday....overall very disappointing. I do not think we will ever be back.More

Great pours, pizza not great, crust not great, cheap on the toppings...I know restaurants need to watch the bottom line but this was ridiculous compared to how good the pizza from the sea used to be. Minimum shrimp, asparagus and no fennel.

We have been meaning to visit but their hours (opening at 5 p.m.) are not always convenient when you live 20-30 minutes away. The on-line pictures looked great. The restaurant has a good vibe – great décor (rustic). The staff was super friendly. The ability...to open garage like doors really makes you feel less claustrophobic. Food – not impressed. I come from a family of chef’s and cooks, so my standards may be a bit higher than the average diner. Spaghetti Bolognese Very little (if any) “sauce”. Some around the noodles but no “sauce” and some chunks of meat. We were offered to add a meatball (which we did) but unfortunately it turned out to the the GREEK style meatball. The Greek meatball and Italian dish clashed. The lemon zest did not belong with the Italian dish. Manzo Pizza I know it says, “saved beef loin” and their website picture looks like shaved beef loin, but it looks like we got Gyro lamb meat. You can see from the pictures it is not “shaved”. The meat texture looked, and it it tasted like Gyro meat (not even the same grain to the meat to their picture). It tasted like lamb/with lemon in it. Pizza Crust – store bought – not homemade (see pictures). It tasted bland and hard. You can see the assembly line holes in the bottom of it. They do say on their web site you can get a homemade gluten-free pizza dough – maybe that tastes better? It was white (like uncooked) on the bottom, so we had to try to heat it up in the oven for 5 minutes (still not good). I am a bit puzzled as I look at other pictures on Tripadvisor of a pizza. It does not even look like the one we were served. Website states they have Sunday brunch. The restaurant staff told us they no longer have Sunday brunch. The website also states that all the restaurant staff wears masks for our comfort. We did not see one staff member with a mask. However, it was not that crowded, and we did not feel ill at ease.More

Good experience with my spaghetti bolognese and having a wonderful waitress (or the solo singer -as I called her) to take care of our group. She was so cool and I loved the positive attitude she had. Great ending to a great visit to the...Milwaukee area after a Brewers win. Thank you for the olives!More

Two couples went to dinner at Zesti’s in Heartland, Wi. We were excited as the reviews had been excellent. We did not come away with the same impression. Our server, Shelby did a fine job of taking care of us. We were disappointed in the...Ambiance. It was noisy and the air conditioning was horrible. It was hot outside, yet I went to our car and got my wife a jacket. Finally, we asked to move to another table. We had two appetizers; stuffed mushrooms and eggplant. Both were deemed okay. My wife had the duck confit and she found it dry and not very tasty. Another had a margarita pizza and it was okay. A third had the spaghetti Bolognese and it was quite good. I had the Paella, it also was just okay. It was lacking some of the meats that are typical in Paella. We thought that it was generally overpriced.More

Might be the best lasagna I have ever had! Love this place! Great atmosphere! Bradley the bartender is wonderful and their infused vodka is outstanding!

We absolutely loved our meals. Husband had a pork shank special. I had the blue crab ravioli. Both were perfectly cooked! Prices were very good. 3 drinks, 2 appetizers, 2 entrees, and 2 desserts for $100. We have paid more for less often. We will...be back. There's several things we definitely want to try. The restaurant ambiance was also great!More

I’ve never been back after I and my friends, who gathered for dinner to celebrate my 69th birthday in 6/2018, and were asked to leaved shortly after we finished our meals because they needed the table! As you can see, I’ve never been back! Bad...business, bad staff choice by head waitress/hostess! So many other great places in the area!More

I was really bummed with our experience at Zesti. We live in the area and thought it'd be fun to try something new rather than one of our regular places. We were seated by the hostess and it was a good 15 minutes before our...server even came over to ask if we wanted something to drink. She wasn't the friendliest and wasn't on her game given it was not super busy in the restaurant. We got our drinks and my wine tasted like the bottle had been opened for a week (my husband tried it and agreed). I had to flag down our server because we hadn't been checked on in quite some time to tell her I'd like something else. We weren't sitting too far from the bar and I heard the bartender rudely say "well I don't know what to say because I JUST OPENED it". Our server brought me another sample of the same to try and again, it was not good. She did eventually swap it out for something else. She commented to us later that some of the other tables were also complaining about the drinks that night. Food: We shared a regular Caesar salad which was good - the vinagrette dressing was a nice change from your typical creamy caesar. For our main course my husband got the lasagna, which was excellent, and I got the shrimp gnocchi. The shrimp gnocchi was good but it was not what I had expected - it seemed to be more of a soup in a tomato broth rather than sauce. Lastly, we were celebrating my husband's birthday and I had mentioned this when making the reservation (I wasn't expecting anything special but I thought just a "Happy Birthday" or acknowledgement from our server would have been a nice touch). The atmosphere was cozy and the food was decent but we're in no rush to go back.More

We've been there several times and it's just ok. Service is fine, food ok, prices ok. But extremely loud and hard to be able to converse.

Extremely slow service, very loud atmosphere, the waitress was bordering on rude, and I ordered extra sauce when I ordered my calzone but we were all literally halfway through our meal by the time she brought it (after 3 reminders). They seem to understand gluten...sensitivity, but their menu is misleading. It says you can substitute all pasta with GF pasta, but for some reason most of their Italian dishes (ravioli, lasagna, etc.) are not offered with GF pasta. My calzone was actually a pizza, so not sure why they bothered to call it a calzone.More

I've eaten at Zesti 4 or 5 times in the last year or so, for lunch, for brunch and for a couple of dinners. The menu is interesting and different from other restaurants because of the world influences on the entrees. Everything I have had...was delicious. There is a good selection of beers. And the prices are quite reasonable and the service always excellent.More
