Yes, Hartford WI has a steakhouse and classy place to eat!

We were celebrating a special birthday and decided to go to this restaurant. There is a great selection of beers on tap and the bar area is very up to date and cute. Thank you for the great brandy old fashion. My mother loved it! I had the jumbo scallops with a generous Caesar salad. Others had the chicken marsala, a side of mashed potatoes, and a hamburger. All of the food was served hot by our waitress Sherri D who followed up with us multiple times during our dinner. I would go back again. The restaurant is a little pricey but the quality is very good.

Wow! Wissota Doesn’t Disappoint!

We dined at Wissota on Friday January 28th. We had a 06:15 reservation. It was our first time dining at this restaurant. Our experience, from service to food quality, was on par with some of our favorite fine dining venues in Milwaukee and beyond. We had the 18 ounce 45 day dry aged ribeye, the sword fish special, the fig & honey fried goat cheese appetizer, the wedge salad, oysters, and bone marrow. For dessert we had the deconstructed raspberry tiramisu. Katie was our informed, attentive, and friendly server. We walked in a bit skeptical and walked out widely impressed! Thank you to Katie and the team at Wissota for a lovely dining experience!!

Great Anniversary dinner, but make a reservation

Good dinner experience. Food came out hot and fresh. Great ambiance, and friendly service. We will be back. It’s suggested to have reservations for anytime they’re open. Not because of crowds, but because of staffing. They can only provide service to a portion of their capacity.

Not So Great Anniversary Dinner

We are locals and have posted raving reviews in the past. Sadly this is not the case. We used to make reservations just in case, but they weren't needed. Apprently they are needed now since we were turned down to get a table. We decided to have a few drinks at the bar. In that time we over heard the waitstaff mentioning they only have 1 chef. Ok...but the returant has 1 table eating!! Your chef is that slow??? I won't come back..and we TIP very well. They also turned down 2 other couples of two. What a loss of business!

Best meal I’ve had in a very long time. You can expect the full dining experience from start to finish! Would not recommend for children or if you’re looking for bar food. Expect to pay more, but expect the best. Loved it!

No masks!

Ate at this restaurant recently and though we both enjoyed the food, not one employee was wearing a mask despite a mask mandate in Wisconsin. Not the hostess, not the bartender nor our server, and many patrons came in without masks as well. I’m generally not a curmudgeon about these issues, but there is a huge spike of Covid in Wisconsin and all precautions are appreciated. It’s too bad, because it did take away from our experience.

As promised from our first review we came back on New Years eve and once again we were very pleased.The meal once again was nothing less than stellar,the 10 oz filet was cooked to perfection and the sides(truffle mac and cheese,garlic chive whipped mash potatoes)were delicious.We had the same waitress as last time and again she was very friendly and remembered us.After dinner we ordered a slice of the chocolate cake to go and it took us 2 days to finish it off,I do suggest giving this a try.If you are looking for a quality meal in Hartford this is the place to go!

Delightful evening

My wife and I were staying at the Cobblestone in Hartford and visited the Wissota Chophouse this evening. She had the sea bass which was absolutely delicious and I had the rib eye medium. Most chef’s don’t get the medium right because they cook it too long but I just don’t like the bloodiness of medium rare. The chef this evening “NAILED” the rib eye medium and was one of the best steaks I have ever had. We have had the pleasure of eating at the Wissota Chophouse in Hartford and in Chippewa Falls and have always had an awesome experience food wise and service wise. Kathy this evening was exceptional, our hats off to you!

Disappointing experience

My husband and I decided to try this restaurant for our Anniversary based on a review from Carol Deptolla. The restaurant itself has a cool casual vibe and a friendly staff. Our server Kathy suggested the firecracker prawns as an appetizer since they were only available during happy hour. When they were brought to the table they were huge and looked delicious, only to cut into them and find out they were coated in heavy breading at least a 1/2 thick. For dinner my husband ordered the rib eye steak, which we both said we’ve had much better for less elsewhere. I ordered the Sea Bass which looked amazing and tasted amazing... until 3 bites in when I found raw fish. Our lovely server Kathy took it back to the kitchen and returned 5 min later with a still not fully cooked piece of fish. Their sides are Ala Carte and shareable, we ordered the Parmesan crusted brussel sprouts which lacked any true amount of parmesan and were just ok. My husband ordered the chocolate cake to go, and the next day he told me he had two bites and said that was also a disappointment. Our bill was $155.00 for what we thought was going to be an amazing meal and we left very dissatisfied. Truly a disappointment because Hartford could really use an upscale restaurant.

Outstanding dinner

Our first time and it was a WOW. Went for happy hour and the bartender was cheerful. Then sat outside for an amazing dinner. We had 10 oz filet mignon ,lobster bisque,sea bass and brussels sprouts. Our waitress Kathy was outstanding. Will go back and is so nice to have a restaurant in Hartford. Also loved the Bar and inside view of the restaurant.

The Wissota Chophouse is a somewhat hidden gem in Hartford. It’s inside the Cobblestone Hotel so you may miss it. The steaks are amazing, no steak sauce required (I found this out by asking for some and the chef said I wouldn’t need it, was he ever right). The apps and sides are phenomenal also along with top notch service. I guarantee you won’t be disappointed
