Family of 4 with 2 boys 10 and 7 loved our lunch. Boys got to wander the gardens and enjoy their kids menu of fish and chips. Fish disappeared so quickly so must have been fresh and prefect. Thank you. The adult meals went beyond my expectations. Highly recommend.

I had read some reviews on Josef Chromy and decided to pop by really just for a tasting (more of that later). The setting - only 5 mins from Launceston - is idyllic. A stunning property with beautiful views. One could easily spend the afternoon here with a glass in hand, solving all of the world's problems. However, we were... More

This property is special. I remember coming here in around 2005/6 and the staff then were just bliss - So elegantly casual, relaxed - devoid of pompousness. We came here last year some time - It is still a beautiful property, but it seemed a little odd. Steak was bland - Hardly flavour - Teenage, awkward wait staff - Ordered... More

What a wonderful find! Having been in Tasmania for nearly a week, my wife and I were wondering if we were ever going to find a place that did more than pizza or fish and chips for lunch! Josef Chromy's vineyard and restaurant ticked all the boxes for a pleasant afternoon with much wine sampled and fantastic food consumed. We... More

The wait staff are genuinely friendly, food beautifully presented and well-cooked, seasonal and the venue itself is spotless. There was a large function, but it didn't detract at all from the main restaurant. Make sure you book as this place is usually busy.

This was our second visit and because we enjoyed it so much last time decided to bring some family members for a treat. Last time we came in July, this time was January, and it was lovely to experience the difference in the outlook over the vineyards. We again had the tasting plate and it was fantastic, paired with some... More

We flew from Melbourne to Launceston for a long weekend away and touring Tasmania's East Coast (what a gem..) Arrived, picked up car and drove straight to the vineyard and restaurant for our booked lunch. Beautiful weather, topped off by a stunning location that set the ambience of the day. Food was well prepared, thoughtful and innovative, with a strong... More

We'd heard such consistently rave reviews of the restaurant and we weren't disappointed. Setting was stunning, ambience was perfect, menu balanced and high quality, staff were all wonderful - and the food was fabulous in every way. It is very busy and usually booked out at lunchtimes so make plans and book ahead. The cellar door sales are in the... More

Brilliant food, great setting, fantastic wine, friendly service, what else do you want? Highly recommend that you try this restaurant along with the requisite wine tasting which is also highly enjoyable. Good value on the food for what you get which is a high quality meal that you would be happy to receive in a Sydney or Melbourne 2 hat... More
