The perfect Sunday lunch. Beautiful setting- restaurant with views of the expansive vineyard. Service was excellent, friendly and not over the top. House bread and butter was delicious followed by mains (avoid if you have a heart condition sooo much delicious butter!) lamb short back ribs and beef cheek with a couple of sides - salads and polenta, which we... We have been here for lunch a number of times. The food is always excellent, as is the service and ambience. My only complaint? The affogato was very small. Usually affogatos have a decent sized scoop of ice cream to accompany the shots of espresso and liqueur, but this scoop was tiny! We will be back some day.

We had the 2 course lunch special and it was amazing, lovely setting, attentive service and great food. We had the confit chicken as entree which was so tasty and the lamb rack for main. All cooked to perfection.

Visited for lunch on a Monday and was surprised by the amount of people on site. As we were touring around, we were on a tight time line, however, given we only had one course, the service was very slow. The food was good without being great, however, if we had the opportunity to return we would with the luxury... More

Arrived on a dark and gloomy winters evening to find a lovely warm and inviting restaurant. Very modern in the Australian Neo chintz style with lots of wood and glass. As we entered we were welcomed with the vineyards products. The Pinot would probably win an award. I found it hard work. The Chardonnay was way sweet but the cab... More

When we stay in Launceston we always go to josef chromey for lunch. So this trip was no different! When we arrived we were warmly greeted and offered to warm ourselves by the fire. Then taken to the restaurant and seated by a window the first waitress was lovely but after she left everything went downhill ... We were asked... More

Josef Chromy is, without a doubt, an excellent place for lunch. The venue is open, airy, and comfortable. The service is exceptional without being hovering. Food is imaginative (my favourite word lately) and excellent. Just be aware that the menu on the website might not be exactly what you are presented with. I missed what i was looking forward to,...
