Big welcoming place, open, airy and a great staff. Lots of selections on the menu and on the taps. The poutine is very good, the lobster grilled cheese is more lobster than cheese (is that good or bad?), all the portions are huge, so be...prepared.More

My wife and I were searching for a new place to eat in the area. After driving past several times we decided to try it out. The inside was much bigger than we thought, a nice mix of bar area and family dining. Lots of...windows to look out and very clean inside. We also loved the food selection we will be back to try more items!!More

Things have changed :/ Have been frequenting Schmittys for years but may step back a bit. Hamburger was NOT the same. It used to be very good and now, not so much, doesn’t even taste close. Beer cans literally had 1/16th inch of dust covering...the top. Young waitress not very personable. Fries were still great!More

We went for a drive and stopped in because we noticed the parking lot was always pretty full every time we passed this restaurant. We were not disappointed. The food and service we excellent. I had an old fashioned and although tasty was a little...short on whiskey. Otherwise we very much enjoyed our stop and plan to go again.More

Grabbed lunch here, crab Rangoon’s for appetizer, burger & a salad. I highly recommend the crab rangoon. Service was very good.

First off, this place offered the most bang for the buck we've seen in quite some time! My wife and I were in town from Green Bay and had stopped in for an early dinner on a Friday night. For an appetizer we ordered Texas...Toothpicks and Fried Pickles. We were expecting a typical portion but were surprised at the generous size of each appetizer especially given the modest price for each. For our entrees, I ordered the "Schmitty's Land and Sea" and my wife ordered the "Stuffed Shrimp Basket." I found it hard to believe that a half pound ribeye, fried haddock and shrimp could all be had for $15. Likewise, my wife's crab stuffed shrimp (real crab, not crab with a "K") could be had for $10. As excellent as the food was the service was even better! Fast, friendly and attentive! We highly recommend Schmitty's Oar House and will definitely be back when we're in the area! We might even make a special trip!More

We have eaten here many times. Always busy! So be prepared to wait, but enjoy the atmosphere! It's small town friendly.
