Dinner at Hyvee this evening was horrible...food arrived cold and had to be sent back to be reheated and salad was chunks of all the crummy parts of lettuce!

The Market Grill inside Hy Vee grocery store is such a great idea. I can't believe no one thought of this before or that other grocery stores don't follow suit and adopt this idea. Its Fine Dining right where you shop. The service is top...notch. The decor and ambiance is fun and relaxed. The food is excellent and could NOT be fresher! In the grocery and dining business, Hy Vee has won, trouncing the competition.More

We shop at the Hyvee here and I had assumed this was just a large deli. My husband's parents had come to visit and arrived late in the evening, so we decided to go here for a quick meal and were very pleasantly surprised. They...have quite a large variety of dishes (Asian, Italian, sandwiches, breakfast, etc) and my kids love the pancake kids meal. The prices are very reasonable (and on certain days/times of year kids eat free) and the portions are huge. I've gotten some of their Asian dishes on various occasions and almost always bring some home. Everything is pretty tasty - sometimes a tad salty but in general pretty good. It's not super authentic Asian/Italian/whatever, but the flavors are good. Most of the meals also come with a soup/appetizer. Since it has such a huge variety, it's a nice place to go with company and kids and we've also come as a family when things get crazy and we don't want to deal with making dinner.More

What a wonderful surprise, a sit down full service restaurant with great food at a grocery store. This definitely took the stress out of shopping.

While shopping at our local grocery store, we happened to notice they had a buffet on Sundays. So the next week we decided to check it out. You get a choice of the buffet or ordering off the menu. My hubby got the buffet &...I ordered the sunrise breakfast (eggs, toast, bacon, potatoes). It was delish. The toast (wheat) was perfect, the eggs were just as I ordered(basted, which are hard to get right). But the hero of the meal was the potatoes. I'm not sure if they were called American Potatoes; but they were the star. You can also get them on the buffet but hubby said they had onions & peppers in them. As for the buffet, there is hot & cold food, Italian & Asian. There was a desert table which also had fresh shrimp. The items were endless; with something for everyone. Enjoy, we surely did.More

We needed a sandwich to take on our road trip. The sandwich was huge and could feed four people rather just us two. The custom sandwich was made with fresh ingredients and very delicious. The service was a little slow, so don't be in a...hurry, but the food is worth it over other sandwich shops. One thing about being in a grocery store you have lots of side and drink choices to go with the sandwich.More

Market Grill works in a pinch. Food is okay and service is usually okay. Nothing spectacular, but also never bad.

Who would think eating next to a super market would be a good thing? But it is actually a very nice restaurant and the food is both very good, but very good in price also.

You get what you pay for. Relaxing and fun environment. Staff is young and don't fill your coffee as fast as you might like it but just get up and pour your own. We are repeat customers.
