This establishment is run by Steve and his family and the personable experience was great. Attached to the Whistling Swan, we chose the veranda for great people watching. Open since Memorial Day, 2023 - I would suggest to visit here before word gets out on how good the food is. The reasonably priced upscale fare was executed well. My wife and I shared the crispy crab cake appetizer (perfectly balanced in flavor with some wasabi). Daily special changes, I chose the Lamb Lollipops w/ pesto. First for me with this flavor combo and would definitely order it again. Wife ordered a Tuna Poke which was more than enough (we took that home). We split a very reasonably priced bottle of wine. This venue could easily be a destination for many Door County vacations. Nice perk, you can book on open table

Excellent service and fantastic atmosphere. Went two days in a row during our stay in Fish Creek. The chef came out to ask how everything was, and we talked with the owners for a long time. Absolutely loved it!!!!

I eat all over the Midwest, mostly in Wisconsin, and I only rate my experience at restaurants that deserve a legitimate review : and this set my bar for favorite meal of 2024. Chef is a wonderful man, staff is helpful and charming, and the food/portion is amazing and worth coming back to. Thank you for the wonderful meal!

On the plus side, we thought the ambiance was good. The wait staff were dressed in flapper style costumes and the music matched the speakeasy theme.
I was delighted that my “bathtub gin” cocktail came in a tiny bathtub, but unfortunately the drink inside wasn’t good, the flavor was off. This would be a great signature drink if the cocktail improved.
For our meal, we both ordered the scallops. This is when things took a left turn. Everything was cooked within an inch of its life and was pretty much inedible. The scalloped potatoes truly tasted days old, the scallops were rubbery and the green beans were very overcooked.
The owner seemed very nice when he stopped by our table - we are rooting for him to succeed - but would suggest taking another look at the kitchen output.

We stopped in to Welcker's Lounge for a Saturday night dinner on a recent long weekend in Door County. We were very impressed by the elegance of the long enclosed veranda dining area upstairs (see attached photo). Very nice ambiance.
We were seated immediately and our server MIchael soon appeared to take our orders. We ordered some cocktails and decided to forego the appetizers and dive straight into the main menu.
I ordered the nightly special--the Bootlegger's Ribs--which came with 2 sides, while my partner settled on the Scallops, which also came with 2 sides.
While the cocktails were pretty good and the ambiance was great, we were a bit disappointed with our entrees. I had ordered scalloped potatoes as a side, and received "loaded red potatoes" instead. My pork ribs were tough and crusty on the outside, and somewhat pink on the inside and I really don't care for under-cooked pork. My partner's green beans were cold, and her scallops were barely luke warm.
I so wanted to like this place, however with the disappointing food, we will probably not be going back to Welcker's Lounge, especially with all of the other great places to eat in Door County,

I always love trying new places and Welcker's Lounge in Fish Creek did not disappoint! My filet, carrots and au gratin potatoes were amazing! So much flavor and I am already dreaming of my leftovers. I can't wait to go back and try brunch sometime. If you're in Door County this summer I highly recommend making a reservation! The speakeasy vibes and history of the place make it cozy to sit, relax and enjoy!

This restaurant prides itself on its former “speakeasy” history. There is a grand piano (live music from that era”) in the dining room. While the music is good if you like Scott Joplin and other composers of that time frame, the wood paneled room, lack of drapery, and general conversation level means you may have difficulty hearing what your dinner companion is saying. Food is very good but not outstanding.

We stopped in for Sunday brunch and we’re not disappointed. Greeted by very welcoming staff and warm atmosphere. Great music! The food is delicious and we plan to come back for dinner. We’ll also send my in-laws who vacation in Sister Bay but are always looking for a new and great restaurant.

We dined at Welkers with another couple on a recent Saturday night. We were very pleased with both the food and service at this new restaurant in Fish Creek. This is a family run operation and everyone was pleasant and professional. Each of us had a different entree and all were very good, particularly the duck and scallops. The tuna appetizer was excellent. The wine list is small but reasonably priced. We will return soon.

First time, made reservation for dinner because they had a piano player and we had friends in town. Throughly enjoyed the atmosphere, the appetizers were great. We each had a different entree and they all were excellent. We will definitely be going back.

Outstanding experience and a delicious dinner. Gracious and friendly service, delicious meals as well as live music. One of the best dinners we have enjoyed in Door County this year. Highly recommend this family-owned restaurant. The surf and turf dinner was cooked to perfection. Fresh and crisp salads and a very quality wine selection. Highly recommend!

Due to a celebrity joining us for breakfast and sharing his wonderful review we had such a large influx of customers we were underprepared for. We strive to provide the best service possible and when you arrived we were unable to provide that, thus us turning you away.
