We had eaten out a few times and the waits were long. We were just at Al Johnson's where the wait was 2 hours -insane!! So we just drove up to The Summer Kitchen and felt b/c it wasn't located "in town" the wait would be less and we were right. We were seated right away. The wait staff are... More

Love this place! Best chicken dumpling soup I've ever eaten and the bread pudding with cherries dessert was my favorite.

I've only had pie here, which is GREAT, but the regular menu looks good as well. The pie slices are a good size and both the crust and the pie filling are wonderful. The berry pie is the best!

We couldn't leave Door County without having cherry pie and I'm so glad we had it here! That was the biggest and best piece of cherry pie I've ever had! Loaded with tart cherries and without all that thick jelly one usually gets! Bravo!

The fare is pretty standard. It appears the restaurant has been passed down to the daughter. They typically have a special that includes a sandwich, soup bar (which apparently is a draw) and dessert. We were hoping for something more inline with the area (local fish, desserts with local available fruits). Service was quick, staff attentive.

This place isn't fine dining, it's more diner fare--but what it does it does best! Twice now I've stopped in when visiting Door County and twice I've had maybe not the best food I've ever eaten, but certainly among the best soup I've ever had and darn tasty sandwiches to go along with! I will never visit Door county and... More
