We were visiting our son and he suggested we order for pick up from this place. I was a little wary but our son assured us it was good. We ordered the Crab Rangoon, Sweet & Sour Pork, Roast Pork Fried Rice, Vegetable Rolls, Chicken Mai Fun, and Chicken Lo Mein. The Crab Rangoon was the very best I have had in years! The egg rolls were perfection - not over fried like most places do. Everything else was prepared perfectly and we had a fantastic meal. To look at this place from the street, we would have driven right by it. When we picked up our order I noticed they do offer a small area to sit and dine in but there is no real ambiance to the dining area. The food is truly is a gem in Cottage Grove! You will not be disappointed!

Great, authentic Chinese food. I love their chicken dumplings and their vegetable fried rice. Mixed Vegetables are very tasty, too.

Staff is always friendly, family is present and always very polite. My order is filled quickly and plenty left over for lunch next day.

We've been ordering from Xiang Jiang for 15 years. Never disappointed. Small, with tables, but mostly everyone picks up. Highly recommended.

We order from Xiang Jiang all the time, and have for years. It's good quality food at a reasonable price. A nice young family runs the place. This isn't a fancy place. In fact, when we first started coming in, there was no seating. But some years ago they added a small dining area. There are typically boxes of surplus napkins and to-go containers pushed against the back wall. Often times their 3 kids are doing homework at one of the tables.
Some of our favorites are Chicken Mei Fun (thin rice noodles), Shrimp w/ Garlic Sauce, Pork Chow Mein, and the House Special Soup. We like their Moo Shoo, but the sauce could be thicker. In the last year or so they decreased the standard amount of white rice they serve with each dish, so we typically order extra.
Definitely worth a try!

If you are looking for great Chinese food at a great price and great service, this is the place. I've ordered Egg-Foo-Young at many places and Xiang Jiang is the best I've had in the Madison area, actually anywhere.

I had lunch at this restaurant and was unimpressed. If you need a quick fix of Asian food, this restaurant will satisfy that need. I thought the food was tasty and plentiful for the cheap price of $6. The dining area, however, was dumpy and had several boxes of extra food and cleaning supplies stacked against the wall. After we finished our meal we paid the bill at the counter. The kitchen worker wasn't using gloves or wearing a hair net or cap so the cleanliness in the kitchen is questionable. 😝 Although my meal was ok, I doubt I will go back.
