We stopped in and kept our fingers crossed. Great friendly service, dinner was excellent and does not cost an arm & leg. This is a place I would return to and during a Packer Game I bet this place is packed.

The Back 40 has a bar and separate dining room plus a back room for additional dining or larger groups. We were there on Saturday night, Prime Rib special. They had a small, standard salad bar and were serving beer cheese soup. My husband enjoyed...that meal. I had the NY strip steak which was excellent. The fresh veggies that I ordered were over-seasoned and not cooked enough.More
Went there for the first time Friday night. Excellent meal Found out they served breakfast on Sat and Sun. Went back the next morning. Excellent, great prices, couldn't even finish, they gave so much. Definitely will go again
Bartenders and servers are always friendly. Great size bar for seating. Drinks are good. The Friday night fish is always good while the other dinners are alright.
All five of us agreed that it was the worst fish fry we had every had. The onion rings were salted beyond eating. The fish, all three styles, were the same. It was so awful that we speculated that the cook was trying to sabotage...the business. We were embarrassed and apologized to our out of town guests. We had our waitress taste the onion rings when we sent them back. She said she would bring fresh. Their response was to take 50% off the price of the rings. No one came to talk with us. Place was dead.More
While traveling back from Canada we were looking for a Great Place to eat. So like most times, I use trip advisor. After reading a few reviews and looking at the pictures we ventured off the main highway. Boy are we glad we did. Since...it was a Friday Night, I called to see how busy they were. They took my name and had a table setup for us when we arrived about 25 minutes later. Susan and Kat were awesome host and waitress. They recommend the Cheese Curds, WOW was them good. 3 guys ordered the prime rib and I ordered the Apple Hickory Pulled Pork. Love it! Highly recommend you try this place.More
This place had been recommended by a work friend that lives in the area. It's the standard Wisconsin bar and grill menu, very reasonably priced. Very large establishment with ample seating and bar space. They have a lot of special events here, although I haven't...attended any of them.More
Have been here several times. It is our favorite place for fish and ribs. It is close to where we live so it makes it an easy choice for a good meal at reasonable prices.
Enjoyed fish fry. Cheese curds were fabulous and lots of them. They were quite busy, but got seated quickly and had to wait a little while, but food was worth it. Had a birthday coupon, so appetizer was free.
I have been to this restaurant 3 times now. The service as well as the food were average. I went the last time with 2 other guests. Upon entering, there was a waitress at the podium trying to add up a check. This went on...for 4 minutes before we were greeted in any way. We ordered our food and 1 hour and 15 minutes later we were still waiting. By this time, we were the only table left in the dining room. When I asked the waitress about our food, she said it should be up soon. 5 minutes later I asked again and told her that we would be leaving if it wasn't plated and ready to come out. At this point she told me it hadn't even been started. We left and will never go back.More
Dinners, sandwiches, and drinks were unbelievably inexpensive, as we bombarded this restaurant/bar with a group of 16! That was a bit overwhelming for the staff, even though we called ahead, but all were satisfied, in the end. Tuesday evenings include Trivia!
Went for friday fish, the service was excellent, it has a kinda of a country atmosphere, the fish was very good, and the price was also good.
My cousin recommended this place, so we got together with them to try it for ourselves. We sat in the bar area, and enjoyed a beverage, decided to stay put for food (as opposed to moving to the dining room side of the building). My...Jim Beam-neat was nice-sized for a decent price, but my wife said her Captain-and-Diet was rather weak (but inexpensive). Her Shrimp ($17) were very good, and my NY Strip was prepared nicely rare and excellent tasting - I was a little surprised that my upgrade to a Bleu Cheese topping, upped the price from $17 to $20.50 - next time, I'll pass on an Upgrade! Terrific, friendly service, relaxed atmosphere.More
We hadn't been to Back 40 and decided to go for dinner with friends. We had passed it on Saturday evening and the lot was packed with cars so we went during the week. This is located in the country so you have to go...out of your way to get here so a lot of people had already found out about it. It wasn't packed but had a nice crowd. The staff was friendly and seated us in the dining room. There's a great bar here as well. There's a nice salad bar and soup that went with dinner. We each had different selections. We started with a couple of appetizers and drinks. We had a great waitress that was really funny. We then had either steaks, fish, or steaks and shrimp. They were all cooked just as we wanted and had a very good flavor. We couldn't have been more pleased. It's a great place and we'll be going back.More
A lot of items, especially those not on menu, are pricey for the average family. Good home cut fries and hand stuffed jalepenos.
