We booked online on the open table app it was very convenient we have done this before other places and have had great success. The atmosphere was great the server was young NEW TO SERVICE INDUSTRY and very nice. My husband and I were looking...for a new restaurant within an hour of home this was 51 minutes and an easy drive. We looked at the menu ahead f time and knew we were set on the Filet with the Oscar add on. soup was good the calamari were under cooked (we never mentioned the app being off a little as we were happy to be out on a Monday to celebrate our union) and the red sauce was too sweet for the dish. However when the filet Oscar it was topped with a crab cake. This was the biggest turn off for us we were set on Crab meat when your dish costs $50 after add ons it should be what the menu says. The manager tried to make it right by offering us another meal Togo we declined our dinner and declined the Togo meal as well. Please update your staff to advice that is not crab meat and is a crab cake with the Oscar option. GrossMore

This place is small inside, poor service, and our chicken and steaks were not very tasty. The prices are high for the serious lack of food quality and service. The bar area is small but nice so good if you don't mind paying alot more...than other places for a drink.More

We went to 615 Club which is one of my favorites, but were told the wait was 2 hours without a reservation. So I called Merrill & Houston's. Fully expecting the same. To my surprise, we could get in, in about a half hour. The...food was excellent, and the atmosphere is very nice. It's just a little louder than I prefer. But all in all, everything was perfect. Would recommend to anyone!More

Cozy booth. Excellent Prime Rib entree...served with warm rolls, soup or salad. We chose the mashed potatoes to go with it & enjoyed the coconut shrimp appetizer beforehand. Our waitress was very friendly & helpful. We'll be back!

First thing to do is have Peter as your server. He was exceptional. Second thing is to not have the salad. I love salad but this was a plate of endive, 2 cucumer slices and some carrots. The raspberry dressing was excellent but the greens...left a lot to be desired. Third do order the filet charred rare, or the salmon with baked potato or anything else, the entree's are incredible! Fourth have creme brulee for dessert! Have a drink...husband recommends Buffalo Trace. Enjoy!More

We were staying at the Ironworks Hotel and decided to eat here again. Service was fantastic. Meal was great! Had the mini filet and it was done just as we asked for it. Salad was also very good. Will definitely be back here again as...it is one of our favorite places to eat while in Beloit!More

My wife and I came here for dinner on Saturday night. We had reservations and we were seated promptly in the newly built addition overlooking the Rock River. It was quiet and cozy in our area. Our waitress dropped off the menus and the whisky...list and stated she would be back. We overheard 2 other waitresses inform their customers what specials they had that night and what was popular on the menu when they dropped their menus off. Our waitress returned and took our drink order with no explanation of the menu or its specials. My wife asked for lemon for her water and it was brought after reminding her 10 minutes later. Our appetizers included the French Onion soup and the Crab stuffed mushrooms. Both were seasoned well and flavorful. My wife asked about any specials and the waitress gave her two of the night, but not really explaining the ingredients. We both had salads and they were presented very well and crisp and delicious. My wife ordered the filet mignon with "The Works" (crab and shrimp mixture- $11.95 add-on) and mashed potatoes and I had the Strip steak with bleu cheese and Parmesan potatoes. Dinner was presented with very warm rolls, crusty on the outside and soft on the inside. Both our steaks and potatoes were fabulous, well seasoned, and tender. Our only 2 complaints were the onion straws served with the meal. They were limp, not browned, nor were they flavored with salt or herbs. They were flat and pretty disgusting. The second was the add-on "The Works". My wife gave me half of the mixture and it was cold. Not lukewarm, but almost refrigerator cold. Her half was lukewarm. Plus for $11.95, I would have expected a flavor explosion but this was not to be. The mixture was flat-tasting, not seasoned, and had no crab taste whatsoever. Along with the waitress's flat affect, this meal was good at best. For spending $104.00 plus tip, I would have expected excellence.More

Pretty good but kinda expensive for a restaurant in a hotel. Crab cake appetizer shouldn’t be called “Maryland Crab Cake” or whatever they’re called as they would get thrown away in Maryland. Lol. They were ok, just not even close to something in MD. Service...at the bar was good.More

The decor was that of most upscale steakhouses, big comfy booths, black and white photos on the wall, but the food was incredible. I also felt like the value was incredible. The same meal in Chicago would have cost twice as much. The service was...very good as well.More

We dined here once and came back a second time for after dinner drinks, while staying at the hotel. Grouper entree was amazing but very pricey (~$40); NY Strip was a bit disappointing and also price (~$45). Service was very good both times. We enjoyed...the bar area very much. The Italian Wedding soup was deliciousMore

My husband's steak was quite underdone (ordered medium and the steak was somewhere between rare and medium rare). We decided not to send it back due to the anticipated wait time but had assumed a steak joint would know how to prepare a steak. Perhaps...more frustrating is that we had made reservations over a month in advance and were seated in a cold and uninviting conference/banquet room. The lack of ambiance definitely did not make us feel like the $100+ dining experience was worth it.More
