We stopped Sunday morning because Cedar Beach Inn had started serving breakfast on
Sunday morning. It was bright and cozy in this out of the way country Inn. It is worth a trip to find this very casual ,comfortable ,unpretentious spot of a bygone era....I had one of the best biscuits and gravy ever. Abundant sausage in a freshly made gravy over buttermilk biscuits. It came with 2 eggs any style and potatoes served two ways, either hash browns or pan fried with peppers and onion. Both great. At $6 this is a huge bargain .
My wife had Eggs Benedict also well prepared and reasonable with the potatoes.More
The service is so bad and over time it has not gotten better. They are friendly just incredibly slow. The fish fry was greasy. The calamari was greasy and tough. I like to support our
Community businesses but give up trying this place. I don't...complain about restaurants
But I am so disappointed in a place we used to love and have tried over and over again.More
My bride and I were camping at Harrington Beach State Park and looked on TripAdvisor for places nearby. Cedar Beach Inn was just down the road.
We were in the mood to eat at our campsite so I called to see if they offered carry...out, which they did!
CBI offers a nice variety of choices for their Friday fish offering!
My bride got the baked cod and potato pancakes with applesauce , I ordered the perch dinner with potato pancakes with applesauce and we also got the calamari! Included in the fish dinners was creamy Cole slaw and slice of marble rye bread.
We went to pick up the meals which were ready when they said they would be. The place is nostalgic! Big place!
We were greeted as we walked through the door! Staff was very friendly!
Bar area was connected to the dining area!
Bar selection seemed good for traditional Wisconsin cocktails! Would have loved to have an old fashioned!
The inside was nothing fancy but nostalgic! I loved the feel of what they have!
Made us wish we would have dined in instead of carry out!
Dinners stayed hot and we ate around our campfire! Very tasty! My brides baked cod was sweet and flavorful! Loved the potato pancakes!
Calamari was lightly breaded and we liked the spice!
My perch plate was wonderful! Loved the option of the potato pancakes with applesauce!
Very satisfied with our meal and glad we tried this place! We will come back again the next time we are in the area!More
This is a great fish fry. Only open Fri.5-9.Every thing from scratch including apple sauce for potato pancakes.Order the perch if you want perch. Who wouldn't? This is a secret place. don"t expect ambiance but it is authentic, mostly locals and is worth it. Also...try clam chowder not thickened just good.More
This was the third time we've gone there for a fish fry. The first two times were excellent, this time was a little disappointing. The Old Fashioned was still great but then things went downhill. It took a long time for our order to come...out and then it was wrong. My plate was correct even though both the fish and fries were lukewarm. My wife had ordered fried fish and loaded mashed potatoes. The fish was baked, so it went back. The waitress served the potatoes anyway and they were almost cold so they went back also but a little later. The fish came out but the potatoes weren't ready so my wife's order was served piecemeal. (Hint to wait staff: when a mistake is made, don't serve the part of the order that is correct; take it all back, correct the mistake and serve the entire corrected order) We'll go back but our expectations will be lower.More
This place is out of the way and a real throw back. Nothing fancy here, but if you want a classic fish fry you will get it here. Nice tavern-like atmosphere, friendly help, good Old Fashions and fish that is served hot from the kitchen....Really good potato pancakes, too! Very reasonably priced. We were too stuffed to try the cherry pie for dessert. Good stuff, give it a try.More
