This is a local favorite and a regional legend. The sandwiches have been featured in Gourmet Magazine as well as many other publications and worthy of the attention. The only negative is the lines you have to stand in and the possibility you will not find a table to eat your meal. My grandfather refused to stand in line for... More

Great food, but the process is horrible. They should really invest in a business consultant or use common sense to work out ergonomic/logistic/operational inefficiencies. They'd do even more business, and maybe the employees would seem a little happier. They also nickel-and-dime you to death. Original Fish sandwich is amazing, however.

I loved this market! you have a choice of several different eating adventures, I went for the spicey fries and fish with coleslaw and my husband headed over to the beef stop and ordered beef sandwich. Both meals were delicious! After lunch I grabbed a little bag of dried fruits from the deli stand in the middle, it was awesome.

While visiting friends from Wheeling we had dinner here one evening. AMAZING is all I can say, the fish sandwich is huge, and well worth the wait in line. Be sure to order your sauces when you order your sandwich. And as a side note, the LONG line is for fish sandwiches and moves FAST. If you are wanting anything... More

Family from Columbus in town. We all met up at the fish market for lunch. The line was so long but it did move fast and smoothly. Food was good and hot and we all had an enjoyable time.

Loved the environment and history, but the food was a bit disappointing. A bit too much breading, and too greasy for all of our tastes. The fish sandwiches (both pollock - the original sandwich, and the Canadian whitefish were just ehhhh.) The shrimp was good, but the heavy breading detracted from the fresh flavor of the shrimp itself. The jojo's... More

And whenever I do, Colemans is a must. I only wish we had a Colemans here in NC where we now live. Simple fried fish (pay extra for the pricer fish) on regular white bread. Period. Been a staple of Wheeling since I was in high school in the 60s!! Good job, Colemans!

Alright, here's what you get when you order a fish sandwich. They put a thick layer of fish between two slices of ordinary white bread. How can it be so good? .................... I have no idea. All I know is that their fish sandwiches taste sooooo good. We stop almost every time we venture to Wheeling for a Nailers game.... More
