GO to favorite with the locals. Also a great place to get a West Virginia coleslaw hotdog with WV chilli. The food is homemade. Al Falbo Godfather burger is a burger bun with a deli full of cold cuts and sauce. Very popular. I can't wait until Ramp season to get a Ramp aoli burger the meat is definitely high quality and not that crap from W BK or Mc you get it! Great Parking. Outside dining some inside. Some casino games also available.

Local West Virginia hot dog with sweet chili and sweet coleslaw. (NOT beans and meat like you might imagine). Al Burger is a huge cold cuts with a special sauce. Ramp burger. Local wild ramp aoli on a high quality burger. Grab the napkins!

I stopped on a whim as I was traveling the Coal Heritage Trail. Service was good, people were great, Cowboy Burger, super hot and crispy fries and a Chocolate shake even better. I highly recommend a visit.

Stopped for a bite while traveling through for business. Ordered the famed Al burger without onions. Imagine my surprise when I opened the sandwich to find lots of onions. The meat had an odd smell, almost as if it was old, but I tried it anyway. The taste was even worse than the smell. Needless to say, I wasted nearly $10 on a sandwich I couldn’t eat.
I have eaten here before and had delicious food. Hoping this experience was just a fluke, as I plan to try again.
Prices are a bit high for the area.

I've gone here since I was a toddler and recently read it changed hands. Atmosphere absolutely different now. The bathroom was filthy, stunk and no toilet paper. Nobody greets you when you go in or even bothers to smile. Sandwich was good, fries somewhat burned. It was sad.

A must stop when traveling in West Virginia. We have eaten here for over 40 years and still great. Picnic tables outside and a few smaller tables inside. Milkshakes, Big Gene’s and Al Burger are the best.

Fantastic food, service & prices. We visited with a group of MINI Coopers. Orders were taken quickly and filled to orders just as quick. Everybody’s orders were correct and absolutely delicious. THIS is what a burger place should be.

Visited Burger Carte in July 2021. (We used to attend WV Tech in Montgomery and would walk the 2 miles to the Burger Carte for a meal on the weekends when the cafeteria was closed.) We graduated over 39 years ago and the Burger Carte is still open and serving delicious food. We knew we had to stop when we were passing thru the area. You place your order at the indoor counter, pay and the food is bagged and handed to you. We got Big Gene burgers and fried onion rings. Service was friendly. Food was quickly prepared and tasted GREAT. (Even better than we remembered.) Great value for your money. Picnic tables outdoors for dining. Plenty of room for parking. This is a local gem and well worth a stop if you are in the area. Highly recommended....still serving delicious food 39 years from our first visit.

Burger Carte is a must-stop every time we drive by it. From soft serve cones to fish sandwiches, hot bologna to twisters or milkshakes, they have retro favorites that take you back to childhood. Outdoor seating is available.

My family and I was very impressed with Burger Carte. The Burgers were excellent, we got the onion rings and that was right on time. Defiently if I would be in the area I would stop there again.

Traveling to area for work. Decided to take in some trail hiking. Stopped for a quick bite on the way back from Hawks Nest Trail. Burger was juicy, fries crunchy, and wings were crispy! Will definitely stop again before leaving the area.

Traveling to the area, we try to eat at Burger Cart. Unfortunately, this visit, we were disappointed. Fries were greasy, burger was just okay, and soda tasted like medicine. We will return since it's tradition but hoping it was just an off day.

I grew up in the area, so have been eating at the Burger Carte for as long as I can remember. I now live about an hour’s drive from Smithers, but my husband and I will still occasionally say, “Hey, let’s take a drive and go to Burger Carte”. Yes, it’s that good!! They still have the Big Gene and the Cartewheel. They now serve the locally famous Al Burger, as well as some new items. I had the new A-1 Steakhouse Burger on our latest visit and it was heavenly .... messy, but heavenly!! If you’re in the Smithers, WV area, you must stop in for one of their amazing sandwiches and some fries or onion rings. You can thank me for the recommendation later, because I know you will love it!! :-)

I have yet to find a place that makes fried pickles near as good as the Burger Cart! When I was pregnant with my first I craved Burger Cartes Fried Pickles moth and Debbie sauce and chili cheese fries! Strange combo but it hit the spot everytime! Every bit of weight I gained that pregnancy was from the Burger carte lol. Good home made sweet tea as well. It's a nice little local spot with a friendly atmosphere and yummy food.

Service wasn't the friendliest, but the burger & onion rings were great! My son enjoyed the chicken tenders & fries, and our cousin got a thick chocolate shake. Would definitely go back for the onion rings alone!
