Bettys is a family restaurant.Be prepared to possibly wait because of its popularity. We went for breakfast and there were huge portions of food. The biscuits are delicious. The area of the resaurant is small but the service and the food make up for that.A great place for a great meal.

In addition to an almost 2 hour ordeal due to extremely slow service, we received wrong food (didn't bother asking for it to be fixed because we couldn't wait another hour), and had to continuously swat flies off our food (indoors!).

Quality food , ingredients and a great menu. Very friendly service with staff that remembers the regulars and their "usual" orders. The burger was amazing.

We eat here every time we spend the night in Shepherdstown. Their breakfast selections are well prepared. I love the corned beef hash. The servers are efficient and friendly. This is a down home, not a fancy place.

Typical small town greasy spoon with aged (but very clean and tidy) furnishings. Staff is friendly. I've only eaten here for breakfast, which is excellent, and frequent it often. They have a phenomenal bowl with potatoes and eggs and choice of meat, smothered in your choice of sausage or chipped beef gravy, and cheese. I think they still won't accept... More

Good for breakfast or lunch. Basic menu. Low cost. We had a good breakfast and the coffee was also good.

My entire family has eaten there since the 1960's when Betty herself used to help serve three meals per day. Later on in the 80's and 90's, Betty used to perch on the counter stool and keep the books. She and her waitress, Elca, would know exactly what you wanted when you ordered "the usual". Now Betty's passed on and... More

Good hearty breakfast - reasonably priced. Try the biscuits and sausage gravy - you won't be disappointed! But feed the meter when you head in - there is a couple folks that just sit and wait for someone to forget. They pop up, and pop you...maybe out of state plate was the draw? But don't let that stop you from... More

Lots of locals. Had a breakfast and a lunch. Considering the lack of ambience, thought it was a little pricey. Breakfast was good and substantial. My wife really enjoyed her large crab cake sandwich. Service was a little slow, but the food arrived hot and worth the wait.

I am a lifelong Jefferson County native and this is one of our gems! Betty's claims to have the world's best sausage gravy but their crabcakes are unbelievable! Everything on the menu is made from scratch. Real home cooking.
