I visit S'town 4 or 5 times a year, and always make time to stop at the Lost Dog. These are people who care about good coffee; never have a bad cup here. I live in the DC area, and struggle to find decent coffee here; it's always a little surprising to me that tiny S'town has this gem.

This is one of my favorite places to visit when I am in Shepherdstown. The shop itself is very eclectic and definitely fits the vibe of the town and the people that live there. You can get a variety of different things, and they always have fun names. I love coffee so the "Fat B" " is my size preference.... More

I've been going to the dog since it opened! They make the best coffee and teas in the area. The place is eclectic and you never know who your going to run into, if you've not tried it, and your local and you drink coffee, you need to!

This is a coffee shop, not a full service place for lunch. Great coffee drinks and extensive assortment of teas. Funky atmosphere with great music, amusing decor, locals and regulars on the young side.

This place is an art gallery that happens to sell fine coffees and pastry. Take in all in and let the aromas and energy permeate your soul. The owner, Garth, is as eccentric as he is taciturn. Amazing to watch him pull drinks from the array of machines and jars surrounding him. It's not coffee; it's performance art served up... More

Local institution. be prepared to wait; the barista team is focused on crafting the best beverages for everyone on line; and remeber this is a sleepy colonial town so no one is in a hurry. Relax and have fun in the bohemian coffee house.

I took a group of guests on a bike tour from Pittsburgh to DC. Service was fast and friendly, plus the ladies loved the eclectic art collection. Best coffee since we left Pittsburgh. I'll be taking folks back there next time we ride through town.
