Dinner for three $92 and everyone was still hungry. Maybe because it was takeout the portions were even smaller than usual. The food was good not great. The topper was Sargasso charged a service fee for takeout, I guess because we ordered online. It feels...like they are charging the customer to drive to the place and pick up the food. Makes no sense.More
I stopped in last night for a quick dinner sans children. A minimal wait staff on hand resulted in a slight wait for wine but otherwise the staff were friendly and attentive as always The wine was perfect and the Wiener Schnitzel was amazing. The...Austrian potato salad was delicious but may have been better served warm? A small salad with lemon dressing completed the plate and was paired perfectly. I am never disappointed with Sargasso's. Was a nice break from reality.More
My best friend and I went here for our joint birthday celebration. The service, the food and the atmosphere were amazing. We tried all the specials and had signature cocktails. We didn't have room for dessert so that's my only negative! HAHA!
Cold food, terrible service, rip off. No recommendation, would have given 0 stars if I could. I can’t believe I spent so much money here.
We had a very nice relaxing dinner here. We sat in the back away from the bar where it was more quiet and cozy. Our server was Dylan and he offered good suggestions on wine and entrees. I had the short ribs and they were...delicious! My son had smoked trout salad with lamb stew and was very happy with his meal. My daughter in law had the corn soup and the salmon entree both were very good! I will return again to this restaurant when I am back in Morgantown!More
I had the seafood crepes and they were wonderful. The portion size was just right for lunch. I had the Pavlova for dessert - I do not recommend it. The meringue was so tough on the bottom that I couldn't break it with my spoon...and it had so much "stuff" around it that the meringue was buried. The experience left something to be desired. The restaurant was only about half full but I had to wait for a menu because they didn't have enough. I was seated in the middle of the room (felt like I was on display) even though there were side tables available. The gentleman doing the seating was wearing a warm-up suit. The room was a bit shabby - the wall had chunks of paint missing, the banquette cushion has seen bettet days, the chair legs could use a little scratch cover and there were extra chairs piled in a corner. And, the carpet could have used a vacuuming, especially under the table they moved showing the previous days' crumbs. I had to ask for a dessert menu - I don't understand why restaurants don't, as a rule, make that offer since dessert is a high profit item. On a final note, a delivery of paper products was rolled past my table on a dolly.More
I must say that I did not care for the dinner menu. There were few choices that I would consider, the soups were not interesting, and the special was too large a portion to even consider. There was a daily pasta that had oyster mushrooms...and a light dressing. I suggested adding peas and tomatoes to add color and also flavor. The chef obliged. I found the entree to be delicious with the few minor additions. Without the veggies, the food would have been monochromatic and the added color made a nice presentation.More
First visit. I chose Sargasso because I needed to have a serious chat with my WVU student. As hoped, despite most tables being occupied, the restaurant was quiet enough that we could talk and hear each other without everyone else hearing our conversation. The service...was friendly. The brunch menu is fairly limited and eclectic. We were happy with our selections. I would gladly return for lunch or dinner.More
Had a night out with my beat friend and her husband and the food was phenomenal! Service and atmosphere were great! Would definitely come back!
